Here’s some relieved Blake with my hypothetical design for V9!
Okay since team rwby is apparently stuck in wonderland now, and wonderland, having a beach, has a very different climate than atlas. With this in mind obviously our hero’s don’t have access to new clothes, so here is a drawing I traced of how they can alter their current looks with what they have to better suit beach weather!
I know everyone’s drawing this shot but man was it a great shot
The first thought Ruby had before she fell to the floor was somehow not about the body in front of her. No the first thought she had when she fell was, Oh brothers, how am I going to tell Yang?
The second thought was, that person was—
“Ruby!” Blake quickly rushed to the floor to comfort the hiccuping girl.
“That was-“ Ruby took in gasping breaths as the tears poured down her face.
“It wasn’t a person anymore,” Blake gripped Ruby’s shoulders tight pulling her to meet eyes with the Faunus. “Ruby you can’t blame yourself for this. Whatever that thing was, it wasn’t human anymore.”
Ruby shook her head still struggling to get enough breath into her lungs. Anything to keep breathing, enough to speak. To make them understand what she understood.
“No, no that’s-“
“Ruby, you can’t take this on yourself,” Weiss fell to the floor beside her partner, gripping her hand to try and steady the younger girl.
“No! That’s-that’s not what I’m trying to say! That wasn’t just a person, it-“ the pause had both ex-heiress and Faunus leaning forward to take in what Ruby said next, “it had silver eyes.”
As Ruby lurched forward to throw up the meager contents of her stomach on the marble floor, Blake and Weiss shared a look over her hunched form. In their eyes you could see a terror befitting the situation. Only one sound was made after that, and it was a tiny gasp of an “Oh” to come from behind Weiss’s raised hand.

I am so proud of Whitley. He’s a smart and caring kid, he just has that Weiss attitude from early volumes. Considering what he went through, it isn’t surprising. But stressful situations show what kind of person you are. Whitley proved he’s not cold and spoiled. He’s capable of doing more good than people think.
