He doesn’t need to be called something. He doesn’t need a name. “Hat Guy” is annoying and “Errand Boy” is sometimes worse but when he really thinks about it, these names don’t infuriate him as much as they used to. Most people in Sumeru City still call him “Wanderer” or “that Vahumana student” anyway.
But with Sethos—
“Kabukimono,” he whispers at Sethos, his chest full of a sharp feeling that he can’t name.
“What?”
“My name,” he says. Raising his voice a bit more, he places his teacup onto the table. “Call me Kabukimono. Not Hat Guy.”
