YOU'VE been eyeing the kid in the back of your pottery class for a while now. He doesn't say anything. Like at all. As far as you know, no one talks to him except this guy in a blue football jock jacket comes up & rants on & on. The kid still didn't talk. And yet, there was something about him that piqued your interest. Sometimes you feel him look your way, but those are really just rare moments.
You haven't really went up to him. You were an absolute awkward son of a bitch to deal with. But your curiosity was growing more & more by the second. And then suddenly after class on a Friday afternoon, you were carrying yourself over to the kid who was still in fact using the pottery wheel. You clear your throat, causing him to look at you.
A slight glint of recognition reflects in his eyes as he meets your eyes - confusion consuming his face. Were you actually talking to him or was someone else sitting in his seat again & you were just talking to them instead? You awkwardly shift under his gaze. " Uhh.. hi- " You finally say.
The boy blinks, opening his mouth to say something but closes it again before looking back down at his pottery wheel. You start to lose a little hope when he removes his attention on you. " ... Hi. " The boy says calmly - his voice catching you off guard. You didn't think he'd actually SPEAK. I mean, a simple wave & you would've been satisfied.
Holy hell, you were actually getting somewhere with this guy. You compose yourself - taking a deep breath in. " I-I'm [Y/N]. " You say, awkwardly - sticking your hand out towards the boy's. He eyes your hand for a moment - not even sure if he could be able to touch you. His eyes flicker from your hand to your face before giving in & reaching to accept the handshake.
Not surprisingly, his hand phases through - but there was a slight crackle in the air when you felt the slight force of his hand. You although, were absolutely shocked out of your mind. Did this guy's hand just phase through yours??? Was he even a guy??? What the hell was happening?!
" WHAT THE FUCK?! " You exclaimed, a bit high pitched as you took a step back away from the blonde. The boy - whose name you still didn't know - didn't look bothered. Like at all. He just formed his lips into a straight line. You squint your eyes at the boy, leaning a bit towards him. The boy leans back away from you, weirded out by the closeness.
" ... What are you? " You whisper - mostly to yourself. " ... Can you back up? " The boy deadpans, causing you to smile sheepishly & back away - giving him some space. " Sorry- uhh- what are you, exactly? I know for sure you're not human. " You state. The boy sighs. " I mean, it's pretty obvious what I am. I'm a ghost. Y'know, the things you become when you die? " The boy retorts. You fluster a bit at your own stupidity. " Yeah- I-i knew that- " You say, clearing your throat.
The boy smiles just a little, somewhat amused by you. You turn around & grab a stool from one of the tables before dragging it over just a couple of small feet away from where the boy was sitting. You sit down, fiddling your hands as you look to see what the boy was working on.
" So... still haven't gave me your name yet. " You remind. The boy continues his work, opening his mouth to speak before closing his mouth again but then ends up speaking anyway. " Yuri. " He finally says.
" ... Yuri. " You repeat softly, smiling just a bit at this new found information. For some reason, Yuri feels the need to hear you say his name again. You have a nice voice. Calm, careful, & sweet but not too sweet. Just the way he liked it.
" Well, nice to meet you Yuri. " You say, snapping Yuri out of his own thoughts a little. His flicker towards you before nodding a little in acknowledgement - smiling back. " ... Wanna help me with this pot? " Yuri offers awkwardly. You grin a bit. " Really? " Yuri nods a bit. You chuckle just a bit nervously. " Okay then. " You reply.
Yuri gets out of his seat & moves over a bit, motioning you over to him. You both spent a few hours there just talking & making pots together. And then it was time for you to go home. And as you waved goodbye while exiting the pottery class, walking outside the parking lot, putting on your headphones as your favorite song plays while riding your bike home - you thought of two things.
1: Ghosts exists?
And 2: For once in your slow life, you couldn't wait for Monday.
Because you had a new pottery lesson to go to after school.

IT'S been a LONG set of years ever since you dying. After your death, Daniel & his shitty friends had gotten caught on camera that showed footage of your murder & were later arrested. You got the closure you needed. The people involved with your death were brought to justice. But you still didn't pass on, for whatever reason.
You were sort of fine with it. That just meant you could spend more time with your mutually ghostly friends. Mostly with Wally. Oh, silly, bright, & ridiculously handsome, old Wally. The first person who helped you adjust to being a ghost. Over that time, you had became fast friends & eventually into best friends.
It was getting particularly lonely without the presence of Sarah after she graduated, but Wally helped you with that too. He was like the human embodiment of a golden retriever & you loved it. You loved him. Love was a strong word. A word you didn't truly understand until meeting Wally. And that word was creating way more definitions than you could've ever imagined when you were talking to him or was just in his presence.
Rhonda, Charley, & Janet could see it from a mile away. But you? You refused to. No way he would be into you like that. Or if he was into boys at all. So - being the stubborn person you are - you pushed those feelings into a cage, locked them up, & threw away the key before throwing the cage into a deep deep pit. You weren't about to lose the most important person in your life that made you feel your best just because of some stupid feelings that totally weren't growing by the second.
Wally had seen you drift off more & more lately. He didn't know exactly what you were constantly thinking about, but he didn't want to pry - being the absolute sweetheart he was. But it had drawn to a line when he saw you with your head in the clouds while you & him were sitting by the bleachers, watching the footballers practice. Well, more like him watching, but you get it. Wally nudges your shoulder, gathering your attention.
" You okay, man? " Wally asks finally. You nod. " Sorry. Just.. been thinking a lot. " You reply. " I can see that. " Wally says, laughing slightly - bringing a slight smile to your lips. There was a slight comforting silence as you faced back forward to the practicing students. Wally shuffles in his feet, his gaze flickering over to you as if he wanted to ask you something but kept second guessing himself.
" Spit it out, Clark. " You chuckle. Wally lets out a sigh of relief. "Right- Uhm. Would youuu like to.. I dunno.. go like.. stargazing tonight. At the rooftop? I uh.. I found a telescope in the science room's closet & just.. thought that you'd like it. " Wally says, stammering slightly. You couldn't help but widen your smile throughout his stammering.
" I don't see why not. It'd be cool. " You shrug awkwardly. The jock beside you brightens. " Cool. Ye-yeah that's- that's- " He says before clearing his throat mid sentence. " Uhm.. yeaha. Cool. " Wally says awkwardly before ultimately deciding to stop talking before he embarrasses himself more with his stammering.
" ... Yeeep... " You say awkwardly back before clearing your own throat. " I should uhh.. go talk with Rhonda, she said she needed to talk with me about something. " You state, standing up off your seat on the bleachers. THAT was a bold faced lie, you needed to go talk with Rhonda because you were internally freaking out over the fact that Wally Clark MAY or may not have asked you out to go freaking STARGAZING.
" Oh- Of course. I'll see you later then?- 7:30?- " Wally asks, fiddling with his hands. " Got nothing better to do. " You smile before walking off. Wally watches you go your way, looking at you adoringly without you even knowing. But that didn't last long because you look back slightly, catching him staring at you but he quickly looks away. You just laugh a little before finally being gone from sight.
God Wally couldn't wait to see that smile again.

THE rest of the day really just consisted of you having existential crisis - trying to decide if this 'hangout' was a date. You couldn't think too much of it. You & Wally HAVE had hangouts before. This shouldn't be any different.. right?? Don't make it weird. You shrugged off those thoughts, trying to compose yourself as you made your way up to the rooftop since it was just about time to meet up with Wally.
You take a deep breath before pushing the door open, seeing the back of the jock that's been on your mind nonstop all day. You shove your hands into your pockets as you awkwardly make your way over - looking up in awe at the gentle stars that scattered in the night, standing next to Wally. " Hey. " You finally say. Wally looks over to you, smiling at the fact you were here. " Hey. " Wally finally says back.
You both spent around 2 hours just talking & looking at the stars. It felt natural talking with Wally. Maybe that's part of why you loved him. He was just so.. enamoring & comforting to be around to the point you just can't help but be drawn to the guy. God he was everything to you. You couldn't help it. Maybe it was the way he looked at you or you started noticing the small details. Like the way he nibbles on his bottom lip slightly when the silence gets too loud, or the way he'd hum songs by The Police unironically, or the way he looks at you when you even utter a word. Like he's hanging onto every word your saying like it's your last one.
He's so attentive when it comes to you & by god does it make you wanna kiss every inch of his face like your life depends on it.
" You're spacing out again. " Wally says with a slight smile, causing you to blink out of your thoughts - turning towards him. " Sorry- I was thinking about stuff again. " You say awkwardly. " Will you ever end up telling me what exactly that 'stuff' is? " The jock asks teasingly.
" I dunno. Will I? " You answer back jokingly with a smirk, causing Wally to laugh a little. The comfortable silence falls again before Wally looks over at you - taking in your side profile as observantly as possible. You didn't notice.
" ... Hey, Wally..? " You finally say after a while.
" Hm? " He hums back, still looking towards you.
" What would you do if you weren't dead, if you don't mind? " You ask. Wally thinks for a moment.
" ... Honestly, I'd probably end up playing football at college... It's not EXACTLY what I want to do but, it would've made my mom proud. " Wally replies. You tilt your head slightly.
" ... Yeah that's fair. What's the exact thing you wanted to do? If your mom wouldn't have pressured you into doing football? " You ask with a slight smile.
" ... Theatre. It's kind of dumb, but yeah. I've always been sort of into theatre. I wanted to be a director. Direct my own plays & stuff. " Wally shrugs. You just look slightly shocked at this new revelation.
" Really? " You ask again, genuinely shocked still. " Yeah. " Wally chuckles. " Wow. " You say with a smile. " I'm totally gonna use this against you, by the way. " You say jokingly, your smile soon turning into a smirk. " I knew it'd be a mistake telling you. " Wally says back jokingly.
" What about you, though? What would've you done if you were still alive? " Wally asks. You think for a moment.
" ... I would've been coding my way into Game Design. " You reply back after a while. Wally's eyebrows raise at this - almost making the same face you made just a couple of seconds before when he told you what he would've wanted to be. You chuckle slightly at his reaction.
" Yeah. I had an absolute thing for video games. My dad had gotten me Shadow Warrior when I was 5 & it pretty much changed the trajectory of my life. " You say, rubbing the back of your neck as you continued on with your little mini story. Wally hung on to every word - looking at you like you were the most important thing ever.
" ... You would've been great at it. " Wally states, causing you to look over to him again. " Y' think so? " You ask. " Yeah. Would've made a shit ton of awesome games. " He confirms with a grin. You grin back, looking down at your lap - not sure what to say. " ... You would've made a great director. " You say finally. Wally just continues to admire you - a surge of confidence running through him as he inches his hand closer to grab yours.
You notice. And yet you don't say anything. You let his hand rest over yours. You let his finger gently skid across yours before they thread between your fingers. You let him scooch slightly closer to you. You may have scooted closer to him too & you just didn't notice. It felt so.. natural. Like it was always meant to happen.
You finally look over - your eyes going down to both of your intertwined hands & then finally to meet the eyes of the boy you had been so enamored with from the start. You both stare at each other - the only sounds accompanying the both of you were the soft whistle of the wind & the distant sounds of cars driving by throughout the small town.
" Can I kiss you? " The both of you finally say at the same time - catching you both off guard. Wally laughs out. You do too. Then an awkward silence accompanies the two of you. You avert your eyes before looking back at him. " ... Yeah. " You finally say. " What? " Wally questions.
" ... Yeah. You can kiss me. I'm giving you permission. " You clarify. Wally beams almost immediately, shifting his stance a bit to fully face you. You do the same, swallowing a bit nervously. This was actually happening. No jokes. Was this a joke? Wally wouldn't be that cruel. It was Wally after all.
When he places his freehand on your bicep & leans in, you can't help but feel a little hazy from it all. What if he gets a bit disappointed from the kiss? What if you weren't good enough? What if it really was just gonna be a prank? The uncertainties showed in your eyes. Wally could see it. He's been waiting literally years for this moment & no way in hell was he gonna let himself back away from it now. He was gonna prove those what if's in your head wrong.
Before another 'what if' could form in your head, you felt a pair of warm & absolute cozy-worthy lips meld against yours. Your breath hitches - your eyes closing shut upon impact before you start to gently kiss back. All the previous self doubt in your mind had immediately faded away like dust. You use your hand that was still laced with Wally's - pulling his hand to bring him closer.
Wally - of course - obliges with absolutely no resistance until he's sitting on his knees, slightly towering over you as he gently removes his hands from their previous locations & putting them on each side of your cheeks. Your hands go to rest on the nape of his neck. The two of you just stay there for a bit. And then that moment unfortunately ends when you have to breath. You pull away from the kiss, Wally surprisingly chases after the kiss when you pull away. Like he couldn't get enough of you.
You laugh out between pants when he starts pressing kisses all over your face before he finally pulls away a little with an absolute lovestruck smile engulfed on his face. You can't help but smile back just the same way as you press your forehead against his.
" ... Was that okay? " Wally finally asks after just a moment of the two of you basking in each other's comfort. " Wally, it was great. " You reassure genuinely before pressing a kiss against the corner of his mouth. Wally melts into it easily, closing his eyes before nuzzling into the crook of your neck. You seriously couldn't stop smiling. You got the guy. You finally got the fucking guy.
And you weren't letting go any time soon.

YOU have been here at Split River High as a ghost since 2005. To say the least, it was a pretty fucked up way to go. I mean, most of the ghosts here at the school have had a fucked up way to go, but this wasn't about them right now. This was about you.
You were really just a regular teenager that lived around a somewhat fucked up time. You had recently figured out you were queer & you just didn't tell anyone. Not even your parents or friends. You had already known how people in your school were when it came to people of lgbt. Charley Horosa of class of '94 was a pure example of that change. He got relentlessly bullied because of who he was & he eventually ended up dying.
You tried not to let that happen to you. But all that trying ended with a rumor spreading around about you, leading to popular people who you used to have a neutral opinion about, turned into you having a burning hatred for. It started with only words that cut deep. And then those words turned into getting nosebleeds & bruises behind the school after classes. You seriously wanted to fight back. Every fiber of your body wanted to. But you just.. couldn't. You weren't brave.
You weren't the one throwing the punches. You were the one taking them. And that was your downfall. Not being strong enough. It was during the Homecoming game. Your best friend, Sarah wanted you to come with & how could you say no? You weren't really doing anything tonight anyway.
You had decided to go get some snacks from food stands just outside the stadium. While paying for snacks, you saw those fuck asses who've been beating your ass ever since the rumor started. You quickly excused yourself when you saw them heading your way, power-walking to a safe place before spotting a bathroom. You quickly walk inside - locking the bathroom door & backing yourself into the wall, on the verge of having a mental breakdown. You couldn't do this. Not tonight. This was supposed to be fun. You were supposed to be out there with Sarah, cheering on your school's football team & having the time of your life.
But here you were, locked in a bathroom while your bullies kept banging on the bathroom door, calling you names, yelling at you to open the door or else they'd do things much worse. This lasted on for 12 minutes until it suddenly stopped. You stumbled up on your feet, wiping your tears with your jacket sleeve - quietly stepping towards the locked door, pressing your ear to the door if they were still out there. The only sounds out there were the distant cheering as the Homecoming game starts.
You took a deep breath in, slowly unlocking the bathroom door & stepping out. You looked around left & right - seeing no one. Then you finally exhaled, walking fully out. You then look to your right again, seeing a boy your age in footballer gear. You've never seen him before. You'd DEFINETLEY notice a handsome person like him before. Why wasn't he in the game? It was starting, right? You shook it off. It wasn't your business anyway.
You didn't even get five steps in before being tackled by one of your bullies who had been hiding just behind the corner. You tried pushing him off, grunting as the bully punched you in the face - eventually all the bullies started kicking you on the ground, one of them even managing to kick you in the face. HARD. They relented for a moment, starting to make teasing jabs at you.
" You have enough yet, faggot? " The bully on top of you named Daniel retorts.
" ... Fuck off, Daniel. " You retort back angrily, spitting out a gob of blood right in his face. Daniel grunts, wiping the blood off his face. The brunette grabs you by the hair, bashing your head into the ground while muttering 'little shit'. You groan out as you try to stay awake. Throughout your vision blurry you could make out the appearance of the boy from earlier, rushing over to what was happening. You felt the press of Daniel's knee on your shoulder as his hands wrapped around your throat.
Then you heard one of the bullies say 'finish him off'. And Daniel did. You struggled & tried to fight back as Daniel used his bare hands to strangle you. Tears crept up in your eyes as you tried to gasp for air - punching at Daniel's chest. It didn't last long before you grew weaker & weaker, eventually going limp. You didn't wake up until a couple of minutes later by a soft tap on the cheek.
But you didn't awake as the same you as before. No, you were something.. different. You woke up to see a pair of pretty brown eyes staring back at you.
" Hey, hey, take it easy yeah? You just took a really bad beating. " The boy in front of you said as you sat up. You were confused. Why did you feel so different? Seriously, who was this boy in front of you & why hadn't he helped you before you had just took a massive ass beating?
" Who the fuck are you? " You finally say in confusion but before the boy could answer, the sound of a shrill scream cuts him off. You look behind him to see Sarah, who came to find you after you'd been missing for 20 minutes. You quickly stood up, running over to her.
" Sarah?? Sarah! What's wrong? " You say, trying to talk to her but she seemed to not be listening. You try to grab her attention again & then...
She walks through you.
And an overwhelming shiver overcomes you as you slowly turn around - your eyes meeting your limp corpse. Oh god. Your breath catches in your throat, clasping your hand against your mouth to stop yourself from letting out a strong sob. You shut your eyes, trying to block out the image of your cold body that melted itself into the confines of your brain. You felt the gentle brush of a hand land on your shoulder - closely pulling you into a hug as you finally choke out a strangled cry.
You were dead.
And there was no changing that.
But at least there was good company.

Jealousy Looks Good on You
Notes: mentions of smoking! mentions of jealousy! drinking!
You weren’t expecting Wally to be here.
Then again, maybe you should have.
The party was already in full swing by the time you arrived, music thumping through the walls, the smell of cheap beer and too many different colognes thick in the air. People packed into every corner of the house, red cups in hand, laughing, shouting over the music.
You’d barely made it through the front door when you felt it—that prickling sensation creeping up your spine, like you were being watched.
And then, there he was.
Wally Clark, leaning against the wall near the kitchen, arms crossed over his chest, an unreadable expression on his face. His usual smirk was nowhere to be found. Instead, his dark eyes tracked your every move.
Your stomach flipped.
Your date—Ryan, sweet, safe, boring Ryan—didn’t seem to notice the sudden shift in atmosphere. He laced his fingers through yours, tugging you further inside. “Come on,” he grinned. “Let’s grab a drink.”
You hesitated, but nodded.
Wally didn’t look away.
Fifteen minutes later, you were perched on the arm of the couch, laughing at some story Ryan was telling. Or at least, pretending to laugh.
Because you could still feel him.
Every time you glanced up, Wally was there—lingering near the kitchen, posted up against the back wall, watching.
Your stomach twisted.
He was never this quiet at parties. Never this still.
Ryan’s hand landed on your knee, snapping you back to the conversation. “So,” he said, giving you a playful smirk, “why’d you finally say yes to going out with me?”
You forced a smile. “Figured I’d give you a chance,” you teased.
Before he could respond, a shadow fell over the couch.
Your heart stopped.
You didn’t even have to look up. You knew.
“Didn’t think you were coming tonight, sweetheart,” Wally drawled, his voice smooth, laced with something dangerous.
Ryan blinked. “Sweetheart?”
You knew Wally was trying to get a rise out of you. You knew he was doing this on purpose. And yet, your skin burned under his stare.
“You didn’t tell me you’d be here,” Wally continued, tilting his head, a slow, smug smile finally curling on his lips.
You clenched your jaw. “Didn’t think I had to.”
Wally chuckled, low and slow. “Right. Of course.” His gaze dropped, sweeping over you, pausing on the way Ryan’s hand still rested on your knee.
And just like that, his smirk vanished.
Ryan cleared his throat, shifting awkwardly. “Uh, do we—do we have a problem, or…?”
Wally finally looked at him. “Nah,” he said, too easily. “No problem.”
Ryan nodded, obviously unsure. “Cool, cool.” He turned back to you. “So, you were saying—”
Wally moved.
Not much. Not even close enough to touch you. But just enough to make his presence undeniable.
Just enough to make Ryan notice.
Just enough to make you hold your breath.
Your fingers curled into fists. “Wally.”
His eyes flicked to yours, dark and unreadable. “Yeah, sweetheart?”
Ryan sat up straighter. “Okay, man, seriously. What’s going on here?”
Wally smiled, but it was sharp, predatory. “Nothing. Just making sure my good friend here is enjoying herself.”
You wanted to strangle him.
Ryan exhaled. “Right. Well, we were.”
Wally hummed. “Yeah?” He leaned in slightly, dropping his voice low enough for only you to hear. “You havin’ fun, sweetheart?”
Your stomach flipped.
Ryan frowned. “Dude, do you mind?”
Wally looked at him, slow and deliberate. Then, without breaking eye contact, he reached out—fingers just barely grazing your wrist before you yanked it away.
Ryan noticed.
He wasn’t stupid.
His mouth parted slightly, realization dawning. “Oh,” he muttered. “Oh.”
You could feel Wally’s smirk without even looking.
Heat rushed to your face. “Wally. Go away.”
Wally exhaled through his nose, finally—finally—stepping back. “Sure thing, sweetheart.” He flashed a grin, turning toward Ryan. “Good luck, man.”
And just like that, he walked off.
Ryan let out a breath. “Okay,” he said slowly, looking at you. “What the hell was that?”
You rubbed a hand over your face. “I don’t wanna talk about it.”
You found Wally outside, leaning against his truck, flicking a cigarette between his fingers.
“You are such an asshole,” you snapped.
He barely glanced up. “Nice to see you too, sweetheart.”
You stomped over. “You just embarrassed me in front of my date!”
Wally smirked. “Date?”
Your face burned. “Yes! My date!”
He hummed, taking a slow drag of his cigarette. “Looked more like a charity case to me.”
Your jaw dropped. “Are you serious right now?”
He shrugged, exhaling smoke. “I mean, come on, sweetheart. We both know you weren’t into him.”
You clenched your fists. “You don’t get to decide that.”
Wally chuckled, shaking his head. “Please. If you actually liked him, you wouldn’t have let me get under your skin so easy.”
Your stomach twisted.
Because he was right.
And you hated that he was right.
“You’re jealous,” you accused, crossing your arms.
Wally tilted his head, his smirk sharpening. “Yeah,” he admitted, voice lower now. “I am.”
You weren’t expecting that.
He stepped closer, flicking his cigarette away. “Hated watchin’ you sit with that guy,” he murmured, eyes flicking over your face. “Hated him thinking he had a chance with you.”
Your heart pounded.
“Wally—”
“You wanna know why?” he interrupted, voice quiet.
You swallowed. “No.”
He ignored you.
“Because that should’ve been me sitting next to you.”
Your breath caught.
Wally’s hands slid into his pockets, his expression unreadable. “Tell me I’m wrong,” he said softly.
You opened your mouth.
Nothing came out.
Because you couldn’t.
And he knew it.
Wally exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “Yeah. That’s what I thought.”
And then, before you could even process what just happened, he turned—walking away, leaving you standing there, heart in your throat, knowing nothing between you would ever be the same.
Summary: Wally's reunion brings past regrets and unwelcome visitors. Word Count: 2.7k Author's Note: So, I got sick and I got depressed and it took me a little while to get here, but thank you to everyone for being so patient with me waiting on the next update!

The aftermath of visiting your scar still weighed heavily on your mind days later. Wally had done everything in his power to help you, but you knew there was only so much he could do for you. The only person who could help you come to terms with what you suffered was you.
And you just weren’t ready yet.
It didn't help that Mr. Martin had found a way to jump into a body and escape the school. Now, there was no way to know if he would ever be back or if he was going after Janet. Maddie was worried about her friends and if she would ever manage to get her body back. All of you were worried about Janet and Maddie, since Mr. Martin posed the greatest threat to both. Everyone had been trying to theorize what Mr. Martin wanted with the keys and the scars, but no one knew enough to try to fit all the puzzle pieces together yet.
Now, you were sitting at a table that had been set out for Wally's reunion. He was so psyched about it that you hated you were having a hard time pulling yourself out of your misery. Even though Wally had assured you over and over and showed you just how much he cared about you, you still couldn't shake the insecurity you felt every time you saw Wally and Maddie interact. It also didn't help that your mind was consumed with what happened in your scar.
The others had been careful around you. It wouldn't have been so weird if Rhonda hadn't been practically gentle with you. Rhonda was usually the type to not sugarcoat anything. The fact that she was trying to comfort you felt odd, but you didn't know how to tell Rhonda that she was freaking you out. She was a good friend, and you knew she would always have your back, but you didn't know how to handle a different side of her.
You had also managed to catch the end of an argument between Wally and Rhonda not long after you sought out the others once you were ready to leave the tech booth. Charley had pulled you aside, asking if everything was alright. Quinn had surprised you with a hug and Maddie had wondered why you went into your scar. You couldn't tell her it was because of how jealous you got seeing her with Wally, so you only shrugged your shoulders and returned the nod of solidarity Yuri aimed at you.
As you walked back towards Wally and Rhonda, you overheard what Rhonda was telling him.
"--you have any idea how that feels? She went into her scar because you ran after Maddie."
"I know, I know," Wally assured Rhonda. "Don't you think I feel terrible enough about that without you here busting my ass over it?"
Rhonda pulled the ever-present lollipop out of her mouth and pointed it at Wally. "Just think about what you're doing next time. Maybe instead of running off and playing around in the pool with another girl, you bring your girlfriend with you."
"Maddie and I were just blowing off steam," Wally defended himself. "I would never do anything to hurt Y/N."
"And yet you did," Rhonda pointed out with an arched brow. She brushed past Wally, leaving you to finally finish approaching him.
Wally's eyes lit up once he noticed you. "Hey, how about we get out of here, huh? I think we've earned some time just the two of us. They've had enough of us for now. I want you all to myself," he told you before he tugged you forward into a kiss.
It didn't take you long to realize that Rhonda's words must have struck a chord, because he was practically glued to your side after she spoke to him.
You thought maybe Rhonda was being a little too harsh on Wally. But once the adrenaline had faded, you found it hard to stay positive. Quinn said you were in a funk, but you just felt downright depressed. Reliving your death had been hard on you and you were having a difficult time shaking all the negative thoughts and feelings that had risen since confronting it.
Now, you were sitting in the library where the reunion was being held and trying to find the energy to be excited for Wally.
Rhonda and Quinn were off to the side, talking about something you couldn't overhear. Charley was sitting on the stairs leading up to where the DJ booth had been set up while Wally flipped through records that had been left in a crate. You didn't know where Yuri or Maddie were, but you figured they would show up eventually.
You listened to the others talking, not really paying enough attention to discern what they were speaking about and even managed to bring up a reluctant smile hearing Wally sass Rhonda after mentioning something about a girdle.
"Oh, shit!" You heard Wally exclaim, abruptly forcing you out of your thoughts as he pulled a record out of the crate. "No way," he breathed as he brought up the record to show it off. "David Bowie. Y'all! We are so back," he said before he bounded up the stairs towards the turntable.
You met Rhonda's gaze and caught her rolling her eyes, but you noticed the hint of a smile on her lips. Even when she was annoyed with Wally, she couldn't quite resist his infectious enthusiasm.
Wally put the record on, letting Bowie's 'Let's Dance' fill the room. Wally's routine was something you had grown accustomed to over the years. Usually, you joined in, finding joy in Wally's excitement and letting yourself get easily roped in to the dance. But this time, you just weren't feeling it and that only made you feel worse.
Still, Wally tried, pointing at you and pretending to try to reel you in, but you stayed in your seat, refusing to move. You felt a pang of guilt when you noticed his obvious disappointment, but he turned towards Charley, silently respecting your wish to be left alone. It didn't take long before Charley was going through the moves Wally had coached you all through years before, a delighted grin on his face as he danced.
While Wally worked through his routine, you noticed the way his attention kept straying back to you. It was like he was checking in on you and the thought brought a slight smile to your lips. Even when he was having the time of his life, he was still worried about you.
You were content to sit at the table, your chin propped up on your hand while you watched him dance. You weren’t surprised that it was lifting your spirits to see Wally so in his element. You couldn't help but think that if he hadn't been thrown into football, then maybe he would have enjoyed being a theater kid.
You watched Rhonda and then Quinn join the dance. Rhonda never missed a step, but while Quinn was new to the routine, her eagerness to be part of the group more than made up for it.
Any sense of lingering despair was swept away when you watched the way Wally spun away from the group. He was still moving to the music, but he had deviated from his usual routine. He threw in a slide where he usually had a hip thrust and a shoulder shimmy where he would have moonwalked. He threw a smirk and a wink in your direction, and it was then you realized that this year Wally wasn't dancing for himself.
He was dancing for you.
That more than anything had you finally getting out of your seat. You caught the delighted grin on Wally's face before he reached a hand out towards you. You let yourself put your hand in his, letting out a surprised laugh when he immediately reeled you in only to spin you out again. He kept his grip on your hand tight, like he was worried you would try to leave, before he pulled you back towards him.
His lips met yours, the kiss turning desperate and intense within a moment. All you could do was hold on, your fingers digging into his shoulders, as Wally poured everything he had into the kiss.
It was fear and despair and joy and want. It swept you along with everything Wally had been trying to show you for days now.
It was love.
"Fuck," you gasped when you turned your head to the side to break the kiss.
You felt his smirk against the side of your face. "Later," he promised, hiding a kiss against the skin beneath your ear.
"That was awesome!" Quinn exclaimed, drawing your attention. "You do that every year?" She directed at Rhonda, a grin on her face.
"Every year," Rhonda drawled, shooting a look at Wally that was equal parts annoyed and fond.
"We should go again," Quinn decided, already bounding towards the DJ setup to restart the song.
“Quinn,” Rhonda groaned, following her like she was thinking about stopping her.
Later, you dressed up for Wally's big night and met him at the doors of the library.
"Damn," Wally sighed, looking you up and down. "How'd I get so lucky?"
You rolled your eyes, resisting the urge to tell him that if anyone was lucky, it was you. "Sap," you accused, because you didn't know how else to respond.
Wally grinned at you and held his arm out, letting you hook your hand around his elbow. "Before I forget," he said, reaching out to open the door. "We're playing wingman for Charley."
"Charley?" You asked, surprised that he was finally making his move. "Yuri?" You guessed, thinking of all the times Charley blushed around Yuri and how he couldn't keep his eyes off him.
"Yup," Wally answered, leading you into the library. "Promised not to let him embarrass himself. So, I might need your help running interference later."
"Got it," you agreed, offering him a tentative smile. Wally's dance and the promise of a date night had gone a long way towards lifting your mood, but you were still trying to shake the last vestiges of sadness that still clung to you.
Wally leaned over to press a kiss to your temple before he led you into the library.
You let Wally get you a glass of punch and watched him reunite with some of his former classmates. He looked so happy to be remembered by the class of '84 that you almost didn't realize anything was wrong at first. You had been in the middle of talking Charley up to Yuri, even though you were sure from the way Yuri looked at Charley that it was completely unnecessary.
It took you entirely too long to realize what the two guys were saying about Wally. Wally's crestfallen expression was enough to get you at his side. You also didn't miss the way Charley was carefully not looking at Wally.
"Look, it's alright," Charley told Wally when he tried to apologize. "It was forty years ago. You don't have to be sorry."
"But--" Wally started, before Yuri placed a hand on Charley's shoulder.
"How about a dance?" He asked, nodding towards the couples who had taken over the space in front of the stage. A slow song was playing and the couples were all swaying along to the melody.
"Okay, yeah, I'd love that," Charley answered, handing you his drink before letting Yuri lead him towards the dance floor.
Wally kept glancing at Charley and Yuri, as if he was worried something bad would happen. You knew that Wally had been a different person when he was alive. But the Wally you knew now wasn't anything like him. He had grown and started to accept that he didn't have to only see himself as the guy he was before he died. The fact he was obviously so torn up over his past actions was testament to that.
You were briefly distracted by Mr. Anderson showing up to wreak havoc on a reunion full of people who couldn't even see him. When you glanced back at Charley and Yuri, it was to see Charley putting distance between them.
You weren't sure why Charley looked so distressed, but when he pulled away from Yuri and walked away, you tried to find out what was wrong.
"Hey," you called, turning to look at Charley as he passed you. "What's wrong?"
"It's just...," he sighed before he shook his head and walked away. His jaw was clenched, and you noticed how tensed his shoulders were. Yuri looked just as lost as you felt when you glanced back at him.
Wally watched Charley leave the library. He looked worried, but he stayed rooted to the spot, even though it was obvious he wanted to go after him.
"Wally," you whispered, reaching out to put a hand on his shoulder.
Wally turned to look at you. "Babe, I'm not like that anymore," he promised, gesturing towards the guys who were now commenting on the woman who was announcing something onstage. "I would never hurt Charley. I would never let anyone hurt him. I'd beat the shit out of them for laying a finger on him."
"I know," you assured him, letting your hand find his to hold onto. "Charley knows that too."
"But, I guess," Wally continued, glancing again at the guys who had brought up Wally's past. "I guess I was that guy. And that's how they remember me. I was no better than the people who hurt Charley."
"You've changed," you reminded him. "You're one of the best people I've ever met and that's for a reason, Wally."
Wally nodded his head, but he still looked like he was struggling with himself.
"Go find Charley," you urged him. "I think you two need to talk this out." You knew that Charley would need a friend now more than anything and Wally needed to prove to himself that he could be that friend.
Wally looked unsure and still didn't budge.
"It'll be fine," you promised him. "Trust me," you added, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
Wally nodded his head, offering you an unsure smile, before he left in search of Charley.
"You're good for him," Yuri observed.
You startled, glancing at him over your shoulder. "You're good for Charley," you shot back. "He just gets a little nervous. Give him time."
Yuri nodded his head, looking thoughtful. "I've got time," he assured you before taking Charley's drink back from you.
You watched Yuri take a sip of the drink. "You know if you ever hurt him, though, I'll kill you. Forget that, Wally will kill you."
It wasn't much of a threat when you were all already dead. But Charley was your friend and you would do anything for him. He deserved happiness and if Yuri was the one who could provide it for him, then you wanted to make sure it stuck.
"I know," Yuri claimed, "but he won't have to. I only want what's best for Charley."
"Good," you told him. "Keep it that way."
You were going to ask Yuri if he wanted to see how Wally and Charley were doing when your attention was caught by someone across the room. She was leaving the library, slipping out of the room with a quick look over her shoulder.
It took you a moment to recognize her, but when you did, you felt like the whole world had stopped. Suddenly, your hands were shaking and you felt like everything was collapsing around you. It had been years since you saw her, but you knew you would never forget that face.
You felt your mind race in several different directions as you found yourself rushing to follow her. Yuri called your name, but you ignored him. You didn’t know why she was here, but all you could think about was figuring out the reason. You wanted her out, gone, but there wasn’t much you could do about that now that you were dead.
As you left the library in pursuit of her, there were really only three questions you desperately needed answered on your mind.
Why the hell would she come back?
How could she show her face here after what she did?
And lastly, did she feel any remorse for killing you?

i know like valentines day was like last week BUT i think a valentines rhonda bot would eat ? 🙈 like let’s say the school holds a valentines day ‘party’ and on that day everyone has to make a valentines card for someone ☺️ and rhonda gives us a card but she’s lowkey trying to act nonchalant (and miserably fails) + i LOVE your bots 😝😝😝
i am so late. happy late valentine's...?

"So, who’s the lucky ghost?" Rhonda rolls her eyes but doesn’t answer immediately. Instead, she rocks back on her heels, glancing around the room like she’s suddenly very interested in the peeling cafeteria walls. Then— without looking at you— she pulls the valentine from her pocket and shoves it into your hands. "Whatever. It’s yours."

Warnings: One "innuendo" (the word frisky)
(I broke under the pressure of Bi panic. She needs more love)
-
Rhonda will never admit it but she loves to be serenaded. Gentle kisses and sweet whispers of love in private.
She’s touched starved, badly. If you touch her around others she’ll smack your hand away and give you a death glare, but when it’s just the two of you she wants to be held like a baby. It took a while to get to this point, promising her its okay and that you’re not gonna make fun of her.
Little dates where you would draw her in charcoal. (She seems so drawable for some reason) “Yeah, it looks nice i guess.” Is the biggest compliment on your art that you’re gonna get. On the inside shes freaking out because out of everything you could draw you chose her.
Rhonda’s secretly a hopeless romantic. She’s read every cheesy rom-com book she could get her hands on. Speaking of hands, she won’t let you hold hers. Says it's childish but will let you interlock pinkies with her when no ones looking.
Secret makeout sessions in the teachers lounge when its empty. Won’t let it escalate beyond kissing, that's for special occasions when shes feeling frisky.
Never, and I mean NEVER steal her hat. She will freak out, it’s what ties her look together.
Write her little poems and leave them for her, just never read them out loud or let her read them in front of you. If she happens to ‘accidentally’ stumble across one of them you wrote for her she’ll read it, keep it, and never mention it to you. Secretly she learns every word to it and holds it close to her heart.
Her version of ‘i love you’ is ‘fuck you’. She says it with such grace.
Baby’s got trust issues and has a hard time leaning on people because the one time she did it landed her a first class ticket to death so it’s gonna take a lot for her to be able to show her soft side. She will never be the type to use sweet pet names or go for romantic late night walks but eventually she’ll open up. Her hearts a very delicate thing so feel honored that she gave it to you no matter how reluctant she was.

Simons an obsessive lover. Not in a bad way, but in the sense that he memerises every little thing about you. Likes, dislikes, how you part your hair, the way you carry yourself, all the little things you do that are unique to you.
Would tackle Mike Tison himself for you despite the fact that he doesn’t know how to fight. He has a protective nature that takes over and forces him to defend you. Has resulted in him getting his ass beat several times and you having to step in, dragging him away from the fight.
Respects your privacy no matter how bad he wants to know what you got going on that you can’t tell him about. Will constantly remind you that you can talk to him about anything.
Will binge watch a series with you that he has absolutely no interest in if it makes you happy. Same with books, music, hobbies, just anything you enjoy.
Horror movie marathon dates where he constantly tries to spook you. Will feel bad if you actually get scared.
Keeps your favorite snacks at his house at all times. Constantly tells you that his home is your home and you’re welcome there anytime, doesn’t matter if it's the middle of the night, he’ll open his door, bed, shower, and fridge to you without a second thought.
All and all Simons a simp who doesn’t know hes a simp. He’ll absolutely fold for you without thinking about it.

I'm the wise words of @whoopsyeahokay he's a ✨giver✨ (thx for the input by the way. I was struggling to find out how to write this)
I feel like he's the type to be nervous at first. Not wanting to make the wrong move in fear of scaring you off. He's also like this in non-sexual aspects of your relationship but that's for another time.
You have to take things slow with him, let him know that you're not going anywhere. Poor boy has slight abandonment issues.
Sweet little makeout sessions behind the bleachers or in the locker rooms while skipping gym that leave him going to his next class with an obvious tint in his pants that he knows his friends are gonna tease him about.
Cherry hot kisses in your car when you were just supposed to be giving him a ride home from school that somehow moved from your lips to your neck, red marks forming that will soon turn purple.
Innocent young romance that keeps teetering on the edge of what you both so desperately want but don't know how to start. Until you do.
It was late, you were dropping Simon off after a football game Clair had dragged you to when he asked if you wanted to come in and re-watch terrifier with him. Nothing out of the ordinary just you, your boyfriend, and a small late night movie date.
So how the hell did you get here? Simon between your thighs, tears rolling down your cheeks after cumming for the upteenth time. Blame Simon for having wandering hands.
It wasn't entirely his fault, you walked out in that incredibly low cut shirt that he couldn't take his eyes off the entire game. Sometimes he wondered if you did shit like that on purpose.
It drove him insane watching you flant around like nothing was wrong. Jumping up and down, cheering when The Split River Bandits scored, tits bouncing with every move. He needed you, he needed you more than anything. More so he needed to make you feel the same kind of mind melting grip you had on him.
And oh boy did he do that. With something as simple as his tongue. Delicate slow movements around your sensitive overstimulated clit, lapping over and over and over again. Not giving you a single second to think about anything other than him and the way he's making your eyes roll back.
Nothing but pure bliss. The sound of your broken half whimper half sobs drowning out the tv playing in the background. In that moment it was just the two of you in the world, your brain turning to mush, forgetting everything you've ever known outside of Simons living room.
You danced in the line of insanity, not knowing if you could handle another orgasm but the thought of pushing him away made you want to scream. It was all too much. You felt your mind blanking, that perfect place of ecstasy so close, taunting you.
You were broken. This sweet precious boy that was always so gentle, broke you and it was the most amazing thing you've ever felt.
Hips grinding up into his face, hands gripping the soft cushion around you, mind absolutely destroyed and in one foul movement you felt absolute heaven crash over you. A deadly mix of pleasure and pain that left you breathless.
You laid there, shaking, tears streaming down your face as you tried to regain your composer. After a few beats of silence you felt Simon pull away, body creeping up to lay next to yours as he propped himself up on his elbow.
You took a few deep breaths before looking at him, seeing the lower half of his face drenched and the biggest ear to ear smile. "How'd I do?"
(I fear I ate and so did Simon apparently... Im so not funny 😭)

Wally didn't know how they ended up here. One moment, he was joking around with Maddie, glad to finally get a smile on her face after she had been so hurt to hear Janet having successfully infiltrated her old life, and the next he was watching Y/N standing there in front of that damn door. He didn't know why she would stand where she had sworn never to go. But there she was in front of her scar with her jacket in hand ready to face her demons.
He froze, prompting Maddie to stop at his side.
"Y/N," he tried, hoping not to spook her into action. If he played this right, then maybe he could get her to back away from the door. "What are you doing?"
Maddie shot him a confused look before finally looking down the hallway to see what had caught his attention. It didn't take her long to get it.
"Is that--?"
"It's her scar," Wally answered, not daring to take his eyes off Y/N.
He noticed the way Y/N was tensed, ready to act, which meant he only had a moment to get to her. He took off running, making good use of all of the training he never wanted when he was alive but desperately needed now to sprint down the hallway.
Y/N opened the door to her scar and stepped inside, the door shutting behind her. He hit the door only a moment after it closed. He tried the doorknob, but when the door opened, there was only an empty bathroom.
"It doesn't work like that," Maddie informed him.
"Well, something's got to work," he snapped, hitting his fist on the closed door. He rested his forehead against the door, wishing he had a solution.
"Wally," Maddie started, before she stopped.
"I just don't get it," he found himself saying. He tried the doorknob again, swinging open the door to an empty room. "I don't get it," he repeated before trying again and again to enter Y/N's scar and drag her out of there. "There's got to be a way to get to her."
"Wally," Maddie said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "She's got to make it out on her own."
"No," Wally denied, shaking his head. He kicked the door, wishing he could break it down. It would all just reset. He was useless in this situation. "When I was in my scar, she talked to me. She got me out of there. I was so...I was so," he tried again, but he couldn't get the words out. He was lost. Hurt. Terrified. But Y/N's voice had led him out of hell and right into her arms.
"Look, maybe we should go get the others," Maddie suggested. "Maybe we can figure out why she went in there in the first place. Something must have happened."
"You go," Wally urged, not taking his gaze off the door in front of him. Y/N was just on the other side. He swore he could feel her. But he couldn't get to her and he was so frustrated at the idea that he couldn't save her. "I'm not leaving her."
Maddie stood there at his side for a moment before leaving him. Wally knew she was going to get the others, but he was glad she was gone. He didn't want anyone else around to witness his failure.
Y/N was everything to him and now he couldn’t even save her. He knew what her scar held for her. His death had only been built on disappointment and the fear that he would never be able to shoulder the expectations others dropped on him. He had gone to his afterlife feeling like he wasn't enough.
But Y/N had her life ripped away from her by someone who wasn't worth impressing at all. Y/N had died scared and alone, not surrounded by teammates and a crowd. No one had been there to watch her fall into the afterlife except for the person who gave her the push.
He wouldn't have her go through that again. His scar had been bad enough, but hers was just downright cruel.
He didn't understand why she would want to put herself in that situation again. He didn't get why she would want to relive her death. All he wanted to do was pull her into his arms and protect her from the pain.
All he really wanted was her. Her laugh and the smile she gave him when she was proud of him. The way having her anywhere near him drove him absolutely crazy, because he just wanted to touch her. And when she didn't even notice he was watching her, the way she viewed the world around her. Even in death, she was curious and bright, lighting up the darkness he felt inside and banishing it with just a look at him.
"Y/N," he tried again, resisting the urge to try to open the door again. "Can you hear me?"
God, he hoped she could hear him. He didn't want her to be alone. Not now. Not ever again.
He remembered when Y/N died. The way all the other students talked about it like it was such a tragedy even though they didn’t really know her. How the girl who had bullied Y/N to death was expelled. How he watched them march her out of the school and how much he hated her even then for damning someone else to an eternity at the school. He remembered the way the teachers referred to Y/N as 'that poor girl.' How her mother cried knowing that she would never see her daughter again. How her little brother stood there, confused about why his sister would never go home again.
"Y/N, get out of there! Just come on. Please," he pleaded, hoping she could hear him. He put a hand on the door, trying to sense her on the other side.
He remembered when no one came to remember her on the anniversary of her death. She faded away into anonymity. Just a story for anyone looking to spook a freshman about the bathroom on the second floor with the flickering lights. It was only a dying bulb, but that didn't stop a senior from using Y/N's death as a scare tactic.
She didn’t get a stadium named after her. She didn’t get people reminiscing over her achievements. All she got was an abandoned memorial sight and no one left to mourn her.
She sat and waited and no one came for her. No family. No friends. But he was still there. He would have done anything to show her she wasn't alone. They were the same now. Left to forever roam the halls of Split River High in the hopes that maybe one day, something would change.
He always assumed that something would be crossing over.
He didn't realize that something would be Y/N.
"I don't know why you wanted to do this, but please just come out." He stood there on the other side of the door, waiting for any sign from her. "I'm right here for you. I'm not going anywhere."
As far as he was concerned, she was never going anywhere without him again. If this is what it led to, then he would stick as close to her as she would let him.
He knew she didn't get really get how much she meant to him. Sometimes, he felt like he was being pulled in so many different directions. He had to help Maddie and he had to be there for Charley and he had to keep Rhonda from being too Rhonda.
But Y/N had become his rock. His foundation. With her, he felt like he was whole again. Without her, he didn't know what he would do. She had a way of keeping him steady when he felt like he was going to fall. He hated the thought that maybe he hadn't done the same for her.
"Please, babe," he breathed, both his hands on the door now with his forehead resting against the wood. "You don't need to do this. You don't need to relive it."
He couldn't wait any longer. He had to do something now. So, he did the only thing he could think to do. He threw himself against the barrier keeping him from Y/N. He hit it and kicked it and slammed into it like it was an enemy he could try to defeat. He would fight his way to her if he had to.
He didn't know what she was going through. The silence coming from the other side of the door only served to spur him on, because he wanted to hear her voice. He needed to know that she was okay. His scar had been so twisted and horrifying and he hated that she was going through the same thing.
"Whatever's going on in there, it's not real. You are real." He needed her to know that she wasn't that person anymore. She wasn't whatever she would see in that bathroom. She was so much more. "You don't deserve whatever's happening," he added, hoping she knew it was the truth.
More silence. More stillness.
He tried opening the door again, but the scene was still the same.
He hit the door again and again, not letting him think about the pain. "Babe? Babe!" He tried, wishing he could find a way to get through to her.
He was going to make a last-ditch effort to rush the door. He took a few steps back, ready to try to break it down, when it suddenly opened. Y/N rushed out of the bathroom and slammed the door closed behind her.
She was standing there, watching him with such a tormented expression that he felt like he was dying all over again. All he could think was that he had failed her. But he would never do that again.
She suddenly ripped off her jacket and threw it back down the hallway. He only had a moment to realize what would happen before she was throwing herself at him. He fell to the floor, unprepared, and she went with him. She was clinging to him like she never wanted to let go and as far as he was concerned, she never had to.
He managed to sit up, pulling her up with him. She had her face hidden in his neck and her arms were squeezing him so tight it was nearly painful. He didn't know if she would ever be ready to talk about what she just faced, but he would be there for her. He didn't plan on going anywhere. At least not without her.
"I'm here," he assured her. "I'm not going anywhere. You're safe. You're out."
He kept trying to soothe the pain she felt. It was all he could do. From the way she was holding onto him, he knew that more than anything, she just needed to know that she wasn't back in that bathroom, about to die all over again.
He wasn't sure how long they sat like that before he caught movement at the end of the hallway. It was Maddie returning with Charley, Rhonda, and Quinn in tow. Y/N hadn't even noticed them, she was so lost in her grief and fear. He knew she wouldn't want an audience for what she was going through. It was bad enough they had witnessed this much.
He waved them off, hoping they got the hint. Charley immediately started herding Maddie and Quinn away. Quinn shot a confused, inquisitive look back, but she kept walking. Rhonda lingered behind, watching the scene before her with a set to her jaw that told him she was oddly pissed off about something.
He didn't know if it was because Wally wouldn't let her be there for her friend or she was mad that Y/N had gone into her scar. Either way, he shook his head, waiting for her to finally turn away before he gave Y/N all of his attention again.
He didn't have all the answers. He didn't know what was running through her mind.
But he did know one thing.
He would wait for her.
For whatever she needed from him, he would be there. And he wasn't going anywhere without her.

You hesitated once you stepped into the bathroom, keeping your back pressed to the closed door behind you. Everything was washed in a red glow that lent an eeriness to the scene before you.
You gripped your jacket tight in your hands before slipping it on. You figured you didn't want to risk dropping it even if it would make things harder on you later. You took a deep breath and forced yourself forward.
The smell of cigarette smoke stopped you in your tracks.
"What are you doing in here, freak?"
You closed your eyes, taking a moment to try to center yourself. You hadn't heard that voice since you were alive.
"Well? You going to stand there all day with that stupid look on your face?"
You shook your head, taking another step into the bathroom. It gave you a better view of her. The one who had killed you. The one who had ripped everything away from you, leaving you to haunt the school forever.
You knew how this was all going to play out. The girl who had bullied you mercilessly for years would end up being your downfall. You should have never stepped foot in this bathroom.
She was leaning against the wall by the window. She had managed to crack it open and was letting smoke drift outside. It did nothing to cover the smell.
"God, look at you. What a fucking idiot," she sneered before tapping her cigarette against the windowsill.
You could feel panic building inside you. Your hands were shaking and you felt like you were frozen to the spot.
After you died, she had been expelled. You never had to see her again. But now here she was, ready to kill you all over again.
"You're such a waste of space, you know that? It'd be better if you never existed."
You didn't know how to react to the words. Those weren't the same ones she spat at you the day you died. She was going off-script, which terrified you even more. Anything could happen now.
"You can't even speak, huh?" She asked, finally dropping her cigarette to the floor and crushing it beneath her boot heel. "Got nothing to say to me?"
You didn't know how to speak. All you could think about was where this confrontation was heading and you didn't want to experience it all over again. You had been stupid to let your jealousy and insecurity drive you into this.
She started approaching you and you felt like you were going to throw up.
"Y/N!" You heard a faint voice call your name. "Can you hear me?"
You briefly turned towards the bathroom door, shocked to hear the muffled voice of Wally. He sounded far away and not like he was right on the other side of the door. But you could still hear him.
Turning your attention away from her had been a mistake. Before you knew it, there was a harsh grip on your arm and you were being backed up into the wall beside the sinks.
"I think," she started before popping a piece of gum into her mouth. "That this place would be a lot better without you here." She reached out and gripped your face tight, leaving the sting of her nails biting into your skin. She smacked her gum and grinned at you. "You got anything to say to that, freak? Or are you just going to stare at me?"
You wanted to say or do anything, but you felt like you were frozen with fear.
"Y/N, get out of there! Just come on. Please," you heard Wally beg.
"You paying attention to me?" She wondered, pulling her hand back and slapping you.
It jarred you out of your daze, leaving you to bring a hand up to cover your cheek.
"I don't know why you wanted to do this, but please just come out. I'm right here for you. I'm not going anywhere."
"You're so pathetic. No one's ever going to want such a freak, you know that, right? You're gonna be alone forever."
"Please, babe," Wally pleaded, his voice wavering. "You don't need to do this. You don't need to relive it."
You couldn't help but think about how Wally only pulled out the 'babe' pet name when he was really stressed about something.
Another slap before she gripped your chin again, forcing you to look at her.
"I should have made you eat that cigarette. Got a light? Maybe I can put this one out on that stupid jacket you love so much."
You could hear someone pounding on the door now. It sounded as if someone was throwing themselves against it, attempting to break it down.
"Whatever's going on in there, it's not real. You are real. You don't deserve whatever's happening," Wally continued to try to get through to you. He was out there doing his damnedest to break into your scar just to save you. You didn't know how you could have ever thought that Wally didn't want you anymore.
"Or maybe," she continued, voice low, "I can stick it in your eye. Maybe that way you won't have to see how much we all hate you."
You felt stuck between her disdain and Wally's desperation. It wasn't until you noticed her reaching for her pocket and slipping out a cigarette that you knew things were about to get worse.
Suddenly, all you wanted was Wally and the promise of safety he offered. You used her distraction of lighting up again to rush past her, making for the bathroom door.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" She growled before you felt a hand tuck into the back collar of your jacket and pull.
You knew what happened next, but you still weren't prepared for the fall. It felt endless as you struggled to stay upright, helpless against the pull of gravity. And then your head connected with the edge of the sink and you were on the floor.
You stared up at the ceiling in a daze, because you didn't make it this far the first time. It was over before you could even hit the tiles. This was new territory and you didn’t know how to continue from here.
You managed to push yourself to your feet and glanced down.
Your body was on the floor. You were staring up at the ceiling, but you weren't blinking. You weren't even moving. There was a pool of blood forming beneath your head and your neck was bent at an unnatural angle and you couldn't take it anymore.
You felt like there was something sharp twisting in your gut. You had never thought about what you might have looked like on that bathroom floor. Dead. Unresponsive. Gone forever.
"What are you doing in here, freak?" She asked again and when you looked up, she was back over by the window, smoking.
You glanced down at the floor, but your body was still there. The scene had reset, but the reminder of how all of this played out was staring sightlessly up at you.
"Babe? Babe!" Wally was calling, still trying to break down the door.
You felt a sob catch in your throat before you were throwing yourself at the bathroom door. You were so sure she was chasing you, intent on dragging you back down into the depths of your personal hell, but you didn't dare look back. You managed to open the door and slam it closed behind you.
Wally was standing just in front of you. You weren't sure what he saw on your face, but the way his expression twisted from concern to horror had you feeling like someone had reached right inside your chest and was trying to tear out your heart. You ripped your denim jacket off and flung it down the hallway, never wanting to see it again.
You threw yourself at Wally, taking both of you down to the floor. Wally had managed to sit up and you clung to him like he was your own personal savior. Your face was pressed to the crook of his neck and your arms were wrapped tight around his waist.
He brought a hand up and smoothed it down your back.
"I'm here," he promised. "I'm not going anywhere. You're safe. You're out."
You weren't sure how long you sat there on the floor with Wally. At some point, he had begun to gently rock the both of you from side to side, his touch attempting to calm you as he whispered soothing words in your ear. His lips were brushing the shell of your ear and his hands were running along your back and sides and any part of you he could reach like he was trying to convince himself you were really there.
"It was horrible," you finally muttered into his skin. "I was so stupid."
"You're not stupid," Wally argued. "But why did you do that? You know how terrified I was seeing you walk in there?"
"So stupid," you repeated before finally pulling away enough to meet Wally's eyes. "I saw you and Maddie in the pool."
Wally's brow furrowed in confusion. "And that made you want to visit your scar?"
"I thought you and Maddie...," you trailed off, not knowing how to continue. "I was jealous," you finally confessed. "And hurt. And stupid," you reiterated.
"Oh," Wally said before he seemed to realize what you weren't saying. "Oh," he breathed. "Maddie and I were just goofing off. She needed a friend and I was being a friend. I didn’t mean it any other way."
"I think I get that now," you sheepishly admitted. Wally had been trying to break into your scar just to drag you out. He was holding on to you now like you were the most important person to him and he was afraid you were going to slip away again. He looked at you like you were his everything.
"No, look," he insisted, bringing his hands up to frame your face in them. You nearly flinched, thinking about the last person who had held your face. She had only touched you with malice, but Wally’s touch only made you feel loved. "I'm sorry if I hurt you. I would never in a million years ever want that and what we have is nothing like what I've got going on with Maddie or any of the others. You're the only one I've been kissing," he promised, his lips ticking up in a grin.
"Okay," you agreed with a small nod of your head.
"And I never want you to ever have to go back in there," he continued, glancing briefly at the bathroom door just over your shoulder.
“Even if it helps Maddie?” You couldn’t help but check.
“Never again,” Wally insisted, shaking his head. “You don’t know what that did to me. Seeing you walk in there. God, babe, I was so scared.”
Wally was looking at you like he thought you had died all over again. In some ways, you supposed that was true.
"I'm never going back in there," you promised him, hoping it was true. "It was--," you stopped before starting again. "And she--," you cut yourself off again. "It hurt," you finally settled on. It had also put things into perspective for you.
"It'll get better," Wally promised. "I'm here for you and our friends are here for you too. I'm not saying you won't ever think about it again, but I'll do my best to distract you."
You let your forehead rest against Wally's, taking a moment to simply look at him. The whole night had been a real rollercoaster of emotion and now you felt exhausted. There was really only one thing you wanted at the moment and that was Wally.
So, you moved to stand up, reaching down to help him to his feet.
"Want to pay another visit to the tech booth?" You asked, hoping he knew what you were really asking.
The tech booth offered privacy and a comfortable couch and a place to revisit better memories. All it needed now was you and Wally.
Wally grinned before placing a brief kiss to your lips.
"Hell yeah," he agreed, reaching down and taking your hand in his. "I go where you go. Let's get the hell out of here." Taglist: @morallygrayboys @loudtalehologram @hey-its-roseaurum @doves1120 @benjiiiisstuff

This man is a Freak with a capital F. Jaw dropping, eyes rolling back, sheet grabbing, pantie dropping, pussy dripping freak.
Munch Munch Munch, idc if it's an outdated term it’s the only way i can describe him. He’d have you on your back or stomach for hours while he lays between your legs. He won't stop until you’re begging and crying for mercy. (I need a lobotomy)
With that being said he would beg you to sit on his face. He doesn't care how light or heavy you are, he needs your full weight pressed against him while he eats you out from below. He’d make a complete mess of you. Have you doubled over, body limp as you try to pull your hips away only for him to pull you back down begging to make you cum just one more time.
He’s a romantic but the poor guys been dead for 40 years and there aren't a lot of options in the school so forgive him if he's a little selfish at first. He’d absolutely destroy you, a rough brutal pace while he whispers sweet nothings in your ear.
On that note he's very vocal. Loves telling you how beautiful you are especially when you’re on your knees for him. “Fuck baby, you look so beautiful taking me down your throat like that.” Said as he wipes away the tears gently running down your face. (Again SOMEBODY SEDATE ME)
After your first time together he wouldn't know how to keep his hands off you. The memory of you beneath him constantly playing on repeat in his mind.
He loves the idea of showing you off and since the living cant see either of you he uses it to his advantage. He will fuck you anywhere and everywhere. Over a desk in the middle of an active class? Why the hell not? In the pool while the swim teams practicing? He's diving right in. Teachers lounge while the sad sacks sit around drinking coffee? Absolutely.
Lets not forget about the resets. The body never changes aka infinite energy. Round after round after round.
(Okay I’m done. I wrote this at work so sorry if it's shitty. Honestly I think I'm losing my mind. Like actually clinically insane. I think it’s time I call my therapist. Happy valentines day 😚 💞)

The sight of the tall jock made guilt creep up on you. Asshole, you’d baled on him yesterday with no explanation. He hates you, he was the first person here to actually try and make you feel comfortable and you tossed him to the side, for what? A fucking book.
“Hey” You were sapped out of your thoughts by the boy, he was walking over to you and… Smiling. Why was he smiling? He didn't owe you a smile, hell if anything you owed him an apology. “What's wrong?” Oh god he wasn't making this any better, he looks worried. You’re making him worry because you’ve decided to randomly wear your heart on your sleeve, fucking selfish.
“Nothing, um-” Might as well tell him what happened, he’s gonna find out eventually, everyone is. “Some girls found my body.”
“Oh shit” It was clear he didn’t know what to say to that. It was easier to comfort someone when you’d actually been given the chance to know even a little bit about them other than their obsessive drug use.
“Yeah” You didn’t really know what to say either, leaving an awkward silence. “So um basketball?” Really, basketball. That's the best save you could come up with? Small talk definitely wasn't your specialty.
“Uh yeah.” He let out a small chuckle. “I practice every Monday through Thursday morning. Even though I don’t change, it still helps to pretend to stay in shape. Makes things feel more normal.” Was he trying to offer you advice?
“Cool” You gave him a tight lipped smile. Nothing felt normal, waking up, going to bed, hell even the halls felt weird. Haunted, not just by you but by all the other students that had lost their lives here. How the hell was this school still open? You didn’t know the statistics for school deaths but you’re pretty sure this isn't normal.
“You wanna give it a go?” He gestures back to the gym or as he would probably call it ‘the court’.
“Basketball?” There was clearly a bit of a shocked look on your face. “Oh no i don't play.” Sweaty bodies bumping into each other while passing around a ball sounds like literal hell. Still not as bad as being stuck in high school forever but definitely not a pastime activity.
“Oh come on. It’ll be fun, I swear.” Why's he being so nice? He doesn't even know you. What the fuck does he want?
“I don't know if it's really a good idea.” You gave him a tight lipped smile. “I'm not exactly what you would call coordinated.”
“You don't have to be coordinated, just throw the ball around.” You couldn’t tell if he was trying to get you to loosen up or if he was just lonely, needing someone other than Charley to practice with.
“I’m not the greatest with balls.” You cracked a fake smile. If he wanted you to act like everything was normal what better way to do it than with dirty humor. Now that was a specialty. The slightly stunned look on his face almost made you genuinely laugh. It was only there for a split second before he let out an awkward laugh. You couldn’t tell if you were making this better or worse, either way you were already here, talking to a dead guy. One of the most normal things that's happened in the last few days.
“A smile looks good on you.” The past few days have been filled with nothing but self loath and deflection. Not allowing your brain to process your situation. You know you’re dead, you know how but not why. That's the clarity you've been running on. But hey, at least he couldn’t see through the plastered on smile you’d spent years perfecting, right?
“She only comes around every once in a while when I'm in a good mood.” Again with the lies. Tell him it's fake, tell him it's all a performance for everyone's entertainment.
“Maybe I should try to put you in a good mood more often.” Before you could reply he threw the ball towards you, out of instinct you caught it with two hands, an unimpressed look on your face as his smile grew. “See? You’re a natural.”
You forced out a small laugh. “A natural or traumatized?”
“Bad dodgeball experiences?”
“Older brother.” He let out a hum of recognition. You threw the ball back to him and watched him catch it with precision. “You haven’t lived until you've had a box of cereal fly past your head. Had to learn how to catch.” He gave you a bit of a side eye. “Sorry, was ‘lived’ a bad choice of words?”
“Nah, but why a cereal box?” The smile on his face was real. It made you feel guilty for having to fake yours. You’d been needing so desperately to just be around someone and now you are but you still feel empty. Why isn't it enough? Fucking greedy.
“I don't know, guessing it was the first thing he saw.” The memory was oddly comforting. You still remember the confusion you felt when a box of cereal just barely missed you before smacking against the wall of your kitchen. It broke out into a shadow boxing match.
“I never got that experience, only child.” There was a mixed look on his face. Almost sad but the smile was still there.
“Consider yourself lucky. Me and him would beat the shit out of each other, steal each other's snacks, and I would steal all his hoodies.”
He laughs. “Sounds about rights.” Your conversation was interrupted by the sound of sirens approaching. Both your heads turn to wear there coming from, though it was useless, you were both staring at a wall.
“Fuck.” This is it, everyone’s gonna know. Nothings ever going to be the same. You’re officially dead.
“You probably shouldn't go out there.” You didn’t look at him but in your peripheral you saw him turn back to you, concern and sympathy written all over his face. It doesn't make sense, he has no reason to feel bad for you. So why does he?
“I wasn't planning on it.” It’s your fault, you’re the reason you’re here and now you’re making some poor sweet boy feel bad for you. You don’t deserve his empathy. Even in death you’re fucking selfish, just get over yourself and suck it up. “Shut up.”
“Excuse me?” It took you a second to process what just happened. You finally look back at him but he’s not mad, he’s smiling and a little confused. You know there's sheer terror all over your face. You can’t remember the last time you’d accidentally talked to them out loud in front of someone. This really isn't helping the asshole allegations.
“Nothing.” The fake smile on your face is completely gone. How do you explain that without looking like an asshole or a lunatic? Fucking stupid.
“It’s fine, I just wasn’t expecting it.” He's laughing, whys he laughing? Is your insanity funny to him? You’re suffering and he's laughing. Who cares? He’s not offended so just take it as a win. At least you didn’t slip up in front of some one like Rhonda, she would have chewed your head off.
“Uh-” Change the subject. Something, anything. Fuck just pull together something. The familiar tightening began to form in your chest. Fuck Fuck Fuck. Without a word you ran to the door, pushing it open full with all the strength you could muster. What the fuck was that? He probably thinks you’re crazy. You just had to go and ruin a moment of peace by opening your big fucking mouth. You could hear the sound of his hurried footsteps following you into the almost empty halls.
“Hey, wait up.” He was approaching fast and you couldn’t bring yourself to run away from him. Your legs felt numb, you didn’t understand why. What the fucks happening? It’s not the first time you’d slipped up in front of someone but this felt different. This is a stranger you’re being forced to spend the rest of your existence with. There's no escape, no wear to run. That little group is all you have now and you already fucked up.
You felt his hand touch your solder but didn’t stop speed walking. He kept up a steady pace as he began to walk beside you. “What happened?” You stayed silent, knowing if you spoke it would come out wrong. “Come on, it's okay.” Okay? Nothing about anything is okay. It’s all fucked, your entire existence is fucked. “It’s not a big deal.” Your movements came to a halt. “It is a big deal Wally!” It came out angry, not angry at him but at yourself. When the hell did you get so soft? You let it slip out so easily without a second thought. Such an amateur move.
He looked taken aback by your tone. “Okay, I don’t know why you’re mad but I'm sorry.” He thinks he did something wrong because of you, because you couldn't control your anger. You could feel the guilt grow on your face, features distorting with your fucked up emotions.
“No, no, don't apologize. You did nothing wrong.” Stupid, so fucking stupid. You just couldn't stop yourself, could you? It’s not that hard to keep your mouth shut and be normal.
“I don’t know exactly what's going on in that head of yours but you can talk to me. You can talk to any of us, we’ve all been there.” He tried to give you a comforting smile but it just made you want to break down in tears. What did you do to deserve this kindness?
“That's really sweet Wally, but I have to go.” You pointed behind you down the hall. Truth be told all you want to do is curl into a ball and forget the world around you. There's probably a gurney dragging your dead body out of the locker rooms right now. Soon you will just be a memory to those you care about. An example for your future nieces and nephews about the dangers of drugs. A whisper in the halls. A ghost.
“Okay, but um, movie night?” He had a hopeful look on his face. You didn’t understand why everyone was so adamant about you being involved in group activities.
“Yeah, I'll be there. You can pick out the movie, I know I'm supposed to but I'd prefer if you just did it.” Great, now you have to drag yourself to group later too.
“Perfect, see you later I guess.” He clearly wanted to say something.
“Yeah.” You gave him an awkward tight lipped smile. As you turn to walk away you can still feel his eyes burning into the back of your head until you hit the corner, finally away from his watchful eyes.
There’s a bathroom on this hall that you run to, needing somewhere to be alone with your thoughts. It’s funny, you were praying to be around someone earlier so you wouldn’t be able to think so much yet here you are. Hiding away, alone again.
You paced around, still trying to wrap your head around everything. Your brain never even gave you a chance to process. You’re dead, what the fuck does that even mean? You were basically a zombie before that fateful day in the locker room, so why does it matter? Invisible or not you still have no purpose. Nothings changed, you’re still you. Still you, those words would normally comfort someone in your position but they made you want to vomit, to scream, cry, break everything in sight. Being you isn't a good thing. You’re broken, a mess, lost…. So what the fuck does being dead even mean?
You let out a frustrated cry as you tuned, delivering an angry punch to the wall beside you. For a split second you couldn’t move your fingers, presumably breaking them before they reset. It didn't even hurt, you were shaking with anger and fear, to the point where you couldn’t feel anything else.
Nothing made sense, it was all just distorted in your mind as you let your back hit the wall, sliding down on it so you could sit on the floor. Two broken fingers got you into this mess in the first place. Funny how history repeats itself.

The impending doom that creeps over you when you realize you can’t move is a feeling you didn’t miss. Like the grim reaper himself was looming over you, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Maybe it wasn’t the worst idea, maybe he could take you away from this place, make you not feel so trapped.
Sleep was rare, but when it did come it wasn't peaceful. He stood there, not moving a muscle, almost like he was teasing you. At some point you started considering him a friend, he didn’t like that very much. The sight of him slowly creeping forward left you short of breath. He couldn’t hurt you, you knew that but it didn’t change the way your stomach fell to your ass. Throat begging to be able to make a sound, limbs feeling completely numb.
The sound of his steps like gunshots getting louder and louder the closer he got consumed you. “Bang! Bang! BANG!” You shot up, taking deep breaths as you got a grip of your surroundings. It was still dark and you were more over to the edge of the lockers, almost falling off. The cold sweat dripping down your forehead makes you consider getting up and taking a shower, the sleepiness completely erased from your body. But you couldn’t, it was too similar to where- A shiver ran down your spine at the thought.
As you jump down from your place on top of the lockers you don’t feel the dizziness you normally would from such a movement, no blood rush to your head or weakness in your knees. Guess being dead has its perks.
It was hard to see, no light from the windows or fluorescents blinding you. You didn’t know what time it was, having learned that your phones still stuck on the time you took your last breath but you assumed you still had a few hours before the halls would be filled with tired teens.
Something about the silence that bounced off every corner left an uncomfortable feeling in the far end of your mind. Silence was normally comforting, peaceful, but something about this absence of sound made you want to scream, fill the emptiness with your own noise. It was suffocating, or maybe it was just lonely, either way you didn’t like it.
There's nothing to do here, the one thing you wanted you couldn't get your hands on. You're alone, truly honestly fucking alone. The realization felt like being stabbed, not in the heart but straight through your stomach where you'd be left to bleed out. As the tightening in your chest began to form you ran, as fast as you could to the first exit and pushed it open. The cold December air like a wave of relief as you took deep intakes of breath. Chest still feeling like it was being crushed by a semi truck as you let your body fall down to the ground, and that's when the tears fell. Not baby tears, no, sobs. The type that makes you want to throw up. “FUUUCK!” Your fists hit the pavement repeatedly as you feel your face go numb from crying. You laid there, for god knows how long, beating the pavement until your knuckles were bleeding and no more water could physically escape your eyes.
As you sit there, no longer able to feel anything you hear the sound of the door open behind you. “That kind of aggression can be really dangerous.” The voice didn’t seem too familiar. As you turn you see the big eyed redhead who gave you the idea of sleeping on top of the lockers. You didn’t know what to say as she sat down beside you, her 70’s hippy aesthetic reminding you of a group you used to hang around. “You know I meditate when I'm upset.”
You let out a soft chuckle at the idea. “Yeah, my uncle Roscoe used to make me meditate.” A smile grows on your face at the memory, your eyes fixed on the pavement in front of you. “He said ‘it will heal your inner spirit’ it was kinda nice actually.” The image of his smile when you finally agreed to trying it after months of him begging you to was burned into the back of your brain.
“Your spirits all you have left now, it's important to take care of it.” There was a spacyness to her voice, like she wasn’t fully there. Her mind drifting off into a different reality. For the first time since she came outside she looked at you, really looked at you, like she was staring into your soul and feeling your pain. “Take care of yourself.”
“Thank you” Those were the only words you could muster up, the back of your throat dry and sore from screaming and crying. Without waiting a beat she stood up, going back inside almost like she was never there, the door closing with a click. It was silent again, but this silence was peaceful, content, the type that makes you feel safe.
After about 10 minutes you decide it's time to go back inside where it's somewhat warm. As you go to open the door it doesn't budge. “Shit” You deliver a few frustrated kicks to the door before giving up. The redheaded girl already long gone. As you slide down, back to the door already accepting your fate, you let your head hit the cold metal with a thud. What a great fucking night.
-
Wally was sleeping peacefully in the teachers lounge on the second floor when a scream awoke him. “FUUUCK!” This made him sit up, looking around confused, eyes still not adjusted to the dark.
“What the fuck?” He jumped up, stumbling over to the window due to not being fully awake. As he looked out he saw you, on the ground punching the pavement, it looked like you were crying. He knew it would happen eventually, he even overheard Rhonda and Charley making bets the day you died on how long it would take you to break. Grief was weird, especially when you’re grieving your own death. Nothing could ever prepare you for it.
He debated on whether or not he should go out there and check on you. You seemed like the type of person who liked to be alone with your pain, it didn’t stop him from wanting to wrap you in a big hug and tell you it’s gonna be alright.
He watched your movements slow as you grew tired, the anger and adrenaline wearing off, no doubt leaving you feeling more empty than you were before the outburst. Even though your breath evened out and the blood on your fists disappeared he could tell by the way you sat there, not moving that you still weren’t okay. Who could be? Nothing about anything was okay.
The sight of you stiffening as someone crept out behind you made him nervous until he saw the red haired bimbo he knew as Dawn sit down beside you. He didn’t know much about Dawn, she was just kinda there, some would call a drifter doomed to never pass on. Though he wasn’t sure if anyone would really pass on.
Whatever Dawn said to you seemed to make you feel at ease, your body loosening as you let your guard down. A comforting sight, you’re always on edge. Wally hasn’t seen you just let go since you got here, hell even when you were alive it was like you had a steel wall around you. The wall was still up but something about Dawn seemed to make you trust her in some odd way he couldn’t understand.
Wally decided to let Dawn handle it, he didn’t want to overwhelm you by having too many people around you. He understood how sensitive death makes people, even if you constantly try to act as though it doesn’t bother you he could tell you were slowly crumbling under the pressure.
He crept back over to the couch, wanting to get a little more sleep before the morning bell would ring, serving as an alarm for every resident of Split River high.
⚠This is when it gets really dark so read with caution ⚠
It wasn’t until 30 minutes later when Mr.Mandela showed up, unlocking the front door, that you were finally able to re-enter the school. It was still quiet and dark, the sun yet to make an appearance, but this was a different silence. The screams in your mind that didn’t get to make their way out with the rest of them filled it perfectly. But these weren't screams of anger, no, these were screams of desperation. Desperation for a way out, desperation for true silence, desperation for the fuzzy feeling that creates a barrier of protection, that makes you so numb you can't think.
Then the screams turned dark, mind frantic as they came up with new ideas. ‘The pool’ This one was a whisper, somehow making its way past the louder voices. ‘The gym’ and that's when it came to you. As you made your way to the gym the screaming didn’t stop, they knew what was best for you. At least that's what you convinced yourself in this moment of desperation.
The sound of your heavy breaths and the screaming was all you could hear as you frantically pushed the gym door open and made your way to where they hold weight lifting classes. You grabbed two 50 pound weights that would normally be difficult to lift but something in you made them feel like feathers. It might have been adrenalin, from what exactly? You didn’t know, but nothing could stop you from whatever your plan was. The voices became jumbled, all screaming the same thing just unsynchronized. ‘ROPE!’ Where the hell were you supposed to get rope? The theater.
Your brain was in overdrive, your thoughts not your own but the voices that drowned together to create a deafening screech. You don’t remember walking to the theater, it's like you blinked and you were there. Again you blinked and there was a rope in your hand and a stage light on the stage floor in front of you. There was a girl screaming at you about something that became muffled due to the onslaught of noise she couldn’t hear. With the weights on each of your shoulders, hands clutching them tightly and the rope placed over the back of your neck you rushed to the pool. Thinking that if you could run fast enough you could get away from the blurred together screaming. You knew it was pointless, it was a part of you, constantly reminding you that even death couldn’t fix you.
The world was a blur, your movements somehow in slow motion but frantic. As you pushed the door to the pool room you no longer felt like you were in control of yourself. Your limbs were moving on their own as you set the weights down, grabbing the rope, you tied it around your neck tight, making it almost impossible to breathe.
Nothing felt real, everything around you was distorted. You reached down, tying the weights to the end of the rope and within a blink you were in the water, the coldness shocking your system. Your brain had no time to process as water filled your ears, eyes burning from the chlorine. Your mouth clamped shut, not allowing the water in as you realized what was happening, finally becoming conscious as the voices began to settle. You tried to swim to the top but the weights held you down, thrashing your limbs violently as your lungs began to sting.
You attempt to untie the rope from your neck but your bodies grown weak from the lack of oxygen. The world went blurry as your head felt like it was going to explode. The pressure became too much, your limbs thrashing violently as you tried to escape the ropes tight grip. You couldn't take it anymore, your brain felt like it was turning into multan lava and with no other option your body forced you to do the one thing you had refused to do.
Your mouth opened, taking a deep breath. Water filled your lungs and your body felt like it was on fire. Hot panic soaring through you as you tried to cough up the water only for more to fill your lungs. This was it, you didn’t know what ‘it’ was exactly and that made it worse. The unknown, such a scary thing that you allowed yourself to walk right into.
Time felt like it was moving too slowly as you began to slip in and out of consciousness. At least now you’ll get some more sleep right? Fuck. Your body began to grow limp, no longer fighting your fate. The cloudiness in your head took over, unconsciousness taking you easily as everything went black.

Pt.1

It was like any other Friday night. A crowded living room filled with loud teenagers, music so loud your brain went numb, the strong scent of booze and grass filling the air, kids pissing on the carpet and throwing up in the backyard, the perfect party… well almost perfect. There was something missing, something no amount of alcohol or smelly plants could fill.
Your head was spinning, not from the shots of vodka some girl you just met brought you, but from the people. Parties were supposed to be fun, a chance to drink and dance but the overwhelming crowd left you short of breath. No one forced you to show up, hell you weren't even invited, but you’d take any chance to get out of the house.
“Hey I’ll be right back” You say to the random blond girl, not giving her enough time to respond before you walk away. Weaving through the drunk teens to get to the back door, you frantically fiddle with the handle, air becoming something almost non-existent. Swinging the door open you step outside, taking deep breaths of air. To anyone walking by it just looked like you were calming yourself down from a bad trip.
“Hey you alright?” The sound of a familiar voice fills your ears. “You look like you've seen a ghost” (I'm so funny) It was Josh, you’d buy weed from him sometimes, though you haven't really talked outside of small talk to make your interactions feel less illegal.
“Um yeah. I'm great.” Your breath was still ragged, words coming out rushed despite how hard you tried to make them sound casual.
“Come on, sit down” He grabs you by the shoulder gently, leading you to a coach that had been pulled out into the backyard. A chick with black hair sitting on the far end of it and a dude passed out on the ground in front of it. You sit down awkwardly, Josh comes over and sits between you and the girl, holding two beers and hands you one.
"Thanks" You take the beer, your original plan of getting some air and going home ruined.
"You're a little young to be here, aren't you?" This is the first time anyone has questioned you on your age. Normally they'd give you a weird look but leave you alone.
"I'm old enough for you to sell me bud." He let out a little laugh, 14 was probably too young to be drinking and partying but who's gonna stop you?
"Got me there" He takes a sip out of the glass bottle. "You don't look like you're having fun."
“Not really” The only fun thing about parties was getting too drunk to even remember where you are, something you didn’t get the chance to do.
“You know I'm in a good mood, I got something for you.” He reaches into his pocket, holding out his hand waiting. You look at him confused and after a few seconds he rolls his eyes, but his smile grows. “Go on, take it.” You reluctantly put up your hand for him to drop whatever he has into it. When he does you realize what it is, a little pill.
“What is this?” The confusion is clear on your face, never having shown any interest in taking pills before.
“Its percocet, 10 milligrams.” You recognize the name, your grandma used to take them. What you didn't understand was why he was handing you a pain pill.
“Oh um, I don't have any money.” Which wasn’t a lie, but also a good excuse to get out of this awkward situation. He laughs again, clearly high out of his mind and way too friendly.
“Don’t worry about it, it's on the house.” Now that was what really concerned you, taking a free pill from someone who you barely knew sounded like a death sentence. “You look like you need it.”
The girl sitting next to him scoffed. “Since when are you interested in giving out free shit?” She clearly wasn't in as good of a mood as he was.
“Come on Gina, the poor girl looked like she was gonna pass out earlier.” That doesn't help with the bitter look that grows on her face.
“Oh so your girlfriend has to pay but you'll give it out to this random kid?” The tone of her voice clearly pissed off, to be fair it was kinda fucked up.
“Gina-” She doesn't give him a chance to speak before getting up and walking away, mumbling to herself. You sit there awkwardly, pill still in your hand.
“Should you like, go after her?” Wanting to get up and walk away too, not knowing what to do after accidentally being involved in a potential break up.
“Nah, she’ll be fine.” He seemed calm, not worried at all at the fact that his girlfriend just stormed out on him. Maybe this was a normal occurrence, either way you decided it's none of your business and opted not to ask any more questions.
“So what do I do with this?” You gesture to the hand with the pill in it. This was probably in the top 10 most confused you’ve ever been in your life. No one has ever handed you a random pill before.
“Take it?” He looked at you like you were dumb, like this was the most normal thing in existence.
“I don’t- I don’t think that's the best idea.” It wasn't the idea of taking a perc that scared you, it was the fact that he could have easily been lying. You’d seen enough true crime to know that this is how you end up on the news. “Here” You hold up the pill, trying to hand it back to him. “It's late, I should head home.”
“Keep it, I got plenty.” You give him a small nod, sliding the pill into your pocket as you stand up, looking down at the guy passed out on the ground.
“Uh-” You were gonna ask if he was okay but decided not to, looking back at Josh. “Have a good night.” He ghost (hehe) cheers his beer at you as you walk away, going home confused.
(“1 fish, 2 fish, this flashbacks been too long bitch” - My Brother, 2024)
The sound of the final bell rings as you head to the gym where Mr.Martin was planning for tomorrow's movie night. You open the door and see him writing in a notebook as he sits on the edge of the stage. He looks up noticing you as he slides down onto his feet. “Hey, is that your obituary?” He points down to the folder in your hand, a sickeningly sweet smile on his face that feels somewhat intimidating.
“Yeah, Wally helped me write it.” You hand him it, watching him open it, eyes gazing over the pages. A smile still on his face as he closes it.
“I figured he would, he's such a little helper.” He puts the folder on the stage beside him. “I will sit down and read that later, but for now how are you feeling?” Like shit, but you couldn’t tell him that.
“Great actually, I think this helped.” If anything it made the hunger worse, apparently even death couldn't silence the craving. You made the fake smile on your face look as convincing as possible.
“Any plans for today?” Another attempt at getting you to talk to the others. He's already suggested several ‘bonding activities’ in the two days you’ve been here.
“Yeah actually.” The way his face lit up like a christmas tree was almost comical. “Wallys gonna teach me how to swim later.”
“Oh well, isn't that lovely?” Something about the old fashioned way he talked reminded you of your grandpa. The familiarity brings an odd sense of comfort.
“I should probably um-” You gesture to the door on the other side of the gym, hands in the pocket of your hoodie, a habit you picked up to keep you from picking at the delicate skin that covers them.
“Yeah, go on. Have fun.” He waves you off, smile turning more cheesy like a supportive father watching his daughter leave for her first date.
“Okay, great” You turn awkwardly, making your way out.
“I expect to see you tomorrow.” He yells as you're halfway across the gym.
“Of course.” You yell back without turning around. Reaching the door you step out, entering the now empty halls. You weren't supposed to meet up with Wally until later but needing some alone time you opted for the library where you spent most of your day already. A quiet place where you can escape your own thoughts with a simple little book.
Going the same route you did earlier, except you were alone this time. Something about the quiet school halls felt almost uncanny, somewhat unnatural. You attempt to brush off the uneasy feeling as you reach the library. It was one of your favorite places in the school during your life other than the old locker rooms, but that wasn't really an option anymore.
The cool air hits your face as you open the door, the sweet librarian Gilinda always kept the ac on specifically for you. Kinda funny to think about the fact that she doesn't even know you're gone, nobody does, how the hell has nobody noticed? I mean isnt it fucking obvious? Do they even care? The silent tear dripping down your cheek snaps you out of thought, rubbing it away with your sleeve quickly. Emotions were always so weird, feelings were something you always tried to hide away into the farthest parts of your mind, leaving you completely and utterly numb. It was the safest option.
You made your way into the fantasy section, easy and simple. You look around for a little bit before one catches your eye ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ A token you had read years ago. The graphic story probably wasn’t appropriate for your 12 year old self but something about it sparked something within you. (Ooooh so edgy) There was this little corner you always sat in, it was quiet and not a lot of people came near it, not that it really mattered considering the library was empty but it was your little spot.
It had been a while since you got to sit down and read a book, your brain being either too wired or too relaxed to concentrate so this was a good feeling. A simple little book, in a simple little corner, in a simple little weird ass situation. What a fucking life… well death.
The spine was worn down from years of being passed around by different messy highschoolers, pages somewhat torn, leaving the sweet smell of old paper. You read through the first chapter, then the second, then the third, until you forgot about the world around you. Completely immersed in the weird fucked up tale. It was like time didn't exist, nothing did except the little images you created in your mind. It was the only way of escaping, forgetting about life, about death, about cravings, descending into a different world like nothing else matters. It wasn't until you reached the last page that you realized how late it was, though you didn't feel tired. It was like the times you did adderall, nothing could put you to bed.
“Oh shit” You whispered quietly to yourself when you realized you were only supposed to be there for an hour, your plans with Wally had been completely forgotten about. You stand up, rushing out the library, not bothering putting the book back where it belongs. The halls were dark, no light from the windows filling them, you didn’t know what time it was, just that it was late and way past when you were supposed to meet up. What a great first impression.
You made your way to the pool room only to find it empty. Of course it was, no one in their right mind would wait hours for someone they didn't even really know. Well this was shitty, he probably thinks you're a total asshole. Who could blame him? He spent his entire afternoon helping you write your obituary and you accidentally blew him off. Asshole behavior.
It's not like you could find him and apologize, he was probably asleep right now. Something Mr.Martin had advised you to do when you first got here. It was probably a good idea. You couldn’t remember the last time you had a good sleep, normally getting woken up by nightmares or stomach pain. A side effect of pills that they fail to mention.
You doubted that there were any empty couches, but Mr.Figueroa always kept blankets in his classroom in case someone got cold. His classroom was just down the hall, one of your favorite places to be during c block. He always let you hang out in there even if you were supposed to be in class. The door was locked, but if there was one thing you learned at this school it was that all you had to do was slide your id through the crack and it would pop right open, an important life skill. Charley was sleeping peacefully on the little couch in the corner of the room. You were careful not to wake him as you snuck over to the closet. It was filled with board games and little props he’d use to teach, at the bottom was a pile of folded up blankets. A fuzzy gray one at the top that you always used, it even smelled like you.
As you made your way out the classroom, blanket in hand, you tried to figure out where you were going. That's when you saw her, a red haired girl sleeping on top of the lockers. You’d seen her before but never introduced yourself since she wasn't in group. It wasn’t a bad idea, seemed peaceful. You walked down into a different hall, not knowing if there was sleeping territory. It was probably the safest option to go where your locker was.
It wasn't too high up, a little hard to climb but you managed. The medal was a little cold and you didn’t have a place to rest your head so you took your hoodie off, scrunching it up so you could use it as a makeshift pillow. It wasn't the most comfortable option but it would have to do for now, at least until you fingered out the rules of the afterlife.
(Had to conjure up my inner edgy teenage self for this one, and yes the flash back did in fact happen to me. It was really awkward)

Two days, two fucking days you’ve been rotting and no ones come to find you. Well no one alive at least.
It started off normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Just another boring school day with the same washed out boring people. Tired eyes and even more tired souls. So what changed? A little slip up on the same thing that had almost claimed your life many times over the years except this time no one was there to save you.
You were 14 when you first learned the only way for your brain to stop spinning, trying to find a new way to obtain peace was with a very simple little thing. Weed, this wasn't what was deadly, no it was what started the cycle. First it was weed, then it was alcohol, then it was late night parties, until one day it fell into the palm of your hand. A simple little pill, how could it cause so much damage? Things were fine until one pill turned into two then two turned into three and then you ended up on the patio of a stranger's porch foaming out the mouth. 4 days in the hospital and 2 weeks in rehab was enough to scare you for a while, but not enough to make you forget about the relief that came with it.
That's how you ended up here, sitting in a circle sharing stories about life and death, a group of highschool boys who had no idea you were even there, playing basketball behind you. Should have just gone to group like you were told to, at least then you would have been with people who understood addiction. Now judgmental eyes fall upon you because you caused your own death. As much as you wanted to find someone, something to blame you knew you couldn't, this was your fault. The spinning hasn't stopped. At least ghosts couldn't go through withdrawal, doesn’t change the fact that the empty feeling you tried so desperately to fill is more presint than ever.
The sweet voice of Mr.Martin fills the room. Like white nose until you heard him call your name. Head shooting up to look up at him. “Have you started working on your obituary?” Ah yes, ghost homework. you would have never thought that you would have been asked to write your own obituary yet here we are. Not as easy as it sounds.
“I’ve got some ideas” Like when you got so drunk you threw up on your friends cat, or when you were so high that your brother convinced you the plane flying over your house was a UFO, fun memories. Apparently you were supposed to write about the good parts of your life but that's kinda hard when the only good memories you had were caused by what put you in this situation to begin with.
“Take your time, if you need to im sure some of the others wouldn't mind telling you about what they wrote, for motivation.” You give a simple nod, wanting all the prying eyes around you to look away. And they do, except a certain pair that had been watching you since you got here.
Wally Clark, a sweet boy, bright future, died to soon like everyone else in this fucked up version of your own personal hell. He asked too many questions, it wasn't a secret how you died, just something you didn't want to talk about. He respected that, like most of the others, most. Doesn't stop him from prying, staring with curious eyes.
“I think that's all for today, don't forget tomorrow's movie night as always our newest member will be picking the movie.” You give an awkward smile before standing up and turning to leave along with the rest of the group. Heavy footsteps creeping up behind you and the sound of your name being called stops you as the tall boy catches up.
“So um do you need help with your obituary? not to brag but I think I did a pretty good job on mine.” Wally was quite attractive, tall, with big brown eyes, and slick back brown fluffy hair. No doubt having made girls fawn over him during his lifetime. You and him weren't exactly friends but the idea of having a little help writing… well, a self obituary wasn't bad.
“Sure, we could go to the library.” An excited grin grew on Wallys face, not expecting you to say yes.
“Yeah, yeah the library sounds great” It was kinda cute how he acted sometimes. Not like a typical jock, a pure golden retriever.
“Cool” You stand there kinda awkwardly, hands in the pockets of your red zip up hoodie as you gave him an expecting look.
“Oh like now?” He was somehow the most confident yet most awkward person in the world. “Um okay yeah that works”
You tilt your head sideways towards the door leading out the gym, indicating for him to follow you out. Taking the lead and making your way out, opening the door for him. “Ladies first” He let out a small chuckle at your attempt at a joke, considering it was the first time you really talked to anyone since everything happened. It wasn't that you didn't like people, you just didn’t understand the point of friends. It might sound depressing but having a small group of people that you know will stick around is better than hanging around people that barely know you. Yet here you are, stuck with strangers for eternity or until you finally move on, however long that’ll take.
The hallway was filled with loud teens, some rushing to their next class others going out the back door, more than likely skipping. “So how does this work?” You look over at him.
“What? The afterlife?” He looks at you, a little nervous. “I don’t think im the best person to explain it to you, that's more of Charley's thing.” Charley was sweet, the first person you met when you woke up. Some sort of after life guide.
“No, a self obituary.” The words felt weird coming out your mouth. “I know I'm supposed to write about all the great things in life but I don't think huffing nitrous in my uncles bathroom on thanksgiving really counts as a good memory.”
“Nitrous? like the shit in whipped cream?” He gave you a sideways look, a concerned but humored smile on his face.
“Yes, the shit in whipped cream, I don't recommend. I passed out and almost had a seizure.” As we reach the library he opens the door, allowing you to go in first.
“Okay, maybe don’t include that in your obituary, how about” He thought for a second. “Write about your friends and family, I'm sure you have some good memories with them.”
You let out a frustrated sigh as you sat down at a table, Wally sitting down across from you as you take off your backpack, pulling a pencil and the folder Mr.Martin had given you. “That's too much work, do you think Mr.Martin would notice if I just copied yours?” Wally laughs a little, his straight white teeth showing.
“No, he’ll totally believe that you played football and lost your virginity in your moms car.” Now you’re the one laughing, his sentence coming out way too casually.
“You lost your virginity in your moms car?” You take a few seconds to process before you look at him judgmentally. “You included how you lost your virginity?” Though the smiles’ still apparent on your face.
“Happy memories, remember?” And there's the jock attitude you were waiting for, somehow a bit surprising but not unexpected. “You could just write your feelings.” You have a whole journal for that from when you got sober… soberish.
“This may come as a shock to you but I'm not exactly a feelings person.” Not totally true, it was just easier to not feel anything at all, especially with the situation you're in right now.
“Really? I couldn't tell” The sarcastic tone in his voice very apparent. “Alright fine, if you were happiest when you were high then it's worth writing.”
“Great, so high stories, got it” Though it wasn't the best idea, you had to write something so Mr.Martin would get off your ass about it. Reminiscing was a slippery slope, you were holding up decently so far but contrary to what all the others think it hurt deep down. “How about the first time I tried molly?” Probably one of the best ‘happy pills’ you tried in your lifetime.
“What was it like?” He clearly had no intentions of finding out first hand, just curious of the experience.
“It made me really aware but like in a good way.” There was no real way to describe it without going into depth. “And kinda trippy I guess, does that make sense?”
“Yeah, I guess.” He knew he could never truly understand, no one could unless they experienced it themselves. As you begin to jot down the memory Wally peaks over, looking at the page though it's not very useful due to the fact that he doesn't possess the skill to read upside down.
“Nosey” You laugh a little at his attempt to get to know you better. “You know if you want to get to know me, maybe there are better ways to do it then helping me write my own obituary” Yep, still didn't sound right.
“Oh um yeah, this is probably a really weird first hang out.” He laughs awkwardly at the realization that this is still new to you. It wasn't like he had never been around a new ghost before, he knew he was supposed to be slow, supportive, ease them into it but with the way you acted sometimes made him think you were more used to this than he was. In a way you were, death was something that you had imagined so many times so when it actually came the idea of being trapped wasn't one you hadn't thought of before. “How about after we're done with this I could take you down to the pool?”
You smile, the sentiment was sweet. “Thanks, but I don't know how to swim.” You were never taught and it didn't seem important in life so you just never learned. The surprised look on Wallys face was priceless.
“How the hell are you 18 and don’t know how to swim?” It wasn't judgmental, just a little surprised, but the grin on his face indicated that he had an idea.
“Oh god, what are you thinking about?” You knew what was coming, he wouldn't be him if he didn’t jump at the opportunity to help a new friend. Wally was very readable and you didn’t know if that was a good thing yet.
“I could teach you.” And there it was, of course he wanted to teach you. “It could be fun, plus you don't have much else to do.”
“You know what fuck it, you’re right there isnt shit else to do.” Especially with your body still laying cold in the old abandoned locker rooms aka ‘the brain cave’.
“Great, you should keep writing, the faster you get it over with the less weird it feels.” And that's how it started, you were never the friend type but as much as you hated to say it you needed someone. Sure that someone is very attractive and the idea of seeing him in nothing but swim trunks was a nice image but who could blame you? The afterlife is lonely.
Pt.2
Currently writing a school spirits fic that's very personal to me. Don't know when its gonna be out but I'm really excited about it.
