Bad Fantasy/sci Fi Series Be Like Lol All Jokes Aside This Is One Of My Most Hated Tropes. Like If You

Bad fantasy/sci fi series be like lol All jokes aside this is one of my most hated tropes. Like if you have all these races in your fantasy/sci fi series and then only have humans in your main cast and with the only one or two or so nonhuman races as the side characters or whatever

And the absence of these races isn't an important plot point we're meant to explore/solve Why are these races even here? Just make humans the only race and that saves you the trouble

Three Suns

Three Suns is a sci-fi setting I’ve been making for use in roleplaying games like Mothership and Stars Without Number and maybe any other sci-fi system I find interesting.

The basic history is that by the year 2100 the Earth went to shit, in spite of greater investment into space than our own world and knowledge of extraterrestrial life, climate change still ravished the world. World War 3 started over dwindling resources and Earth’s colonies on the moon, Mars and the belt were cut off from Earth. These colonies eventually underwent enormous civil strife and warfare due to being cut off from needed resources from Earth.

In response to this, 3 projects were initiated to get out of dodge and settle other star systems: The Ararat, the Zheng He, and the Basilisk, though only the first two were proper generation ships, with the Basilisk being a data ship that I’ll talk more about later. These ships completed their journeys and the Ararat even went on to continue their journey and settle two more star systems before being retired after a failed attempt to conquer an alien civilization. All settled systems were more or less isolated from one another until the discovery of Slip Space in the late 2500s.

Slip Space is essentially your classic alternate universe used to travel at FTL speeds, however Slip Space is not empty and host to all sorts of things not allowed under the rules of our reality. In essence, it’s the source of weird SCP shit you’d see in your average Mothership module and also the reason people are placed under cryostasis during FTL trips. Despite this, Slip Space FTL has allowed the previously isolated star systems to contact one another in a matter of months.

However, the Sol and Alpha Centauri systems have rebuilt themselves drastically differently than those settled by generation ships, with the former abandoning capitalism and adopting ideologies inspired by anarchism and socialism and the latter retaining capitalism and perceiving themselves as the last true successors to the old UN. Naturally this has led to conflict that has led to both factions scrambling to use Slip Space for resources, prestige and simply denying their rivals access to nearby star systems. Now it’s the year 2626 AD, you are one of the poor schmucks sent into the void risking death and worse to explore new frontiers and get paid.

"You Act So Innocent But You’re Holding A Match And I Got A Container Of Gas, If You Let That Thing

"You act so innocent but you’re holding a match and I got a container of gas, if you let that thing go this place is gonna blow...but that’s okay with me as long as you’re caught in thе smoke."

-Arson by Chri$tian Gate$

I don't just draw furry garbage! That being said I haven't drawn humans seriously in like over a year. Anyways dusted off the old human skills to whip together this scene from an RP!

Sketchbook dump

Remashing an old concept.

Sketchbook Dump
Sketchbook Dump

Like the basic creature design, but I ked to work on my colour schemes! So I'm going to try it again with markers and get a more varied scheme.

Playing around with this Space Opera is quite fun, allowing me to have quite varied species, fashion, and moods.

Sketchbook Dump

The initial quick concepts! Still need to concept two more of the guns! But generally, I like the variety and group dynamic. Pyotr is probably my favourite of the Guns, so far. He's such a geek, rat-man and I love that for him. He's really into Korme'kisian Space Pop, which is basically just alien Hatsune Miku.

Credit to Jurassic Park as a fictional work, they at least added the DNA from an unrelated species to the existing DNA, regardless of how unrelated it was.

I mean, it's stupid to use frog DNA but at least they STARTED with the original creature.

I've thought since the late 2010s, start with what you have, see how it can be combined to create the most complete sample and extrapolate the rest to try and create a decent approximation of enough genetic data to grow the sex cells.

People who have a better grasp of biology could certainly improve on this rough idea, I don't know how to create the conditions to grow the egg and I'm not convinced doing so in a live surrogate as with cloning is entirely possible for a long-extinct mammal.

To anyone who follows me, I don't care about nor trust Colossal Biosciences anymore (The people behind the "Wooly Mice"). They have proven themselves to be headline-chasing grifters after this latest stunt. They are claiming to have de-extincted *Aenocyon dirus*, aka the Dire Wolf, by editing just 20 genes from the the DNA of a Grey Wolf (*Canis lupus*) to make this thing:

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

If it wasn't clear from their scientific names, Grey Wolves and Dire Wolves aren't remotely related to one another aside from being Canids, despite what pop culture like Game of Thrones would have you believe. If they did look like each other, it would have had to be via convergent evolution, as they only shared a common ancestor over 5 million years ago.

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

This distinction, however, isn't found in the publicized articles about this so-called resurrected Dire Wolf and makes their claim that they brought the Dire Wolf back by simply editing *20* genes from the genome of a Grey Wolf laughable. A Dire Wolf would have shared more in common genetically with a Maned Wolf (*Chrysocyon brachyurus*) or Bush Dog (*Speothos venaticus*) than it would with a Grey Wolf.

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

Bottom line, don't fall for whatever this company is trying to tell you. If the Dire Wolf were to be brought back, it wouldn't be via something like this, and certainly wouldn't *look* like this. If you want an idea as to how a real Dire Wolf would look like in life, here is some fantastic paleoart by artist Mauricio Antón:

To Anyone Who Follows Me, I Don't Care About Nor Trust Colossal Biosciences Anymore (The People Behind

Addendum: I seem to have partially miscalculated Dire Wolf genetics. They were not closer to Maned Wolves or Bush Dogs, but they were still not closely related to Grey Wolves. They were basal members of Canini, related to canids like Jackals (genus Lupulella) but distinct from them. I am sorry for this misinformation in my attempt to correct other misinformation. My main point, however, is still correct.

The most bad@ speech in sci-fi and you can't prove me wrong.

Okay, okay, there is Susan's Death Incarnate speech. That is the only other acceptable answer.
