What are some of your personal rumble fish headcanons and overall thoughts on the book? I love rumble fish sm and when I saw the post where you were like “I’m emotionally attached to rusty-James” I felt that

ty for the ask ^__^ I had mixed feelings on the motorcycle boy (probably because I relate to rusty james in some ways....) but I liked him a lot overall :)

for headcanons I dont have a lot because I read tex right after so didnt have too much time to think about it

NOTE: I haven't gotten the chance to reread it and while I was reading it I was busy with school, so let me know if any of these go against canon

-rusty james is a very light sleeper

-probably same with the motorcycle boy, but not AS much

-steve is scared of most larger or louder animals

you ever just make a half hearted oc for a piece of media you love so you can wiggle around and talk to yourself as if you are the actor for said oc and and doing an interview and yap about the book and movie and the characters?

a girl in my math class complimented my art style when I was drawing mark from twttin instead of notes AAAAAAAHHHHH

the sigh of relief I let out after reading the ending of tex and it WASN'T gut wrenchingly painful was pretty much the highlight of my week

it fuels me that s.e. hinton put chocolate milk in more than one of her books, I love chocolate milk

i am SO tired of sylvia haters omfg like yes, she cheated on dally and cheating is wrong. BUT DID YOU NOT READ ANY PART WITH DALLY IN IT?? im not saying he beat her up or anything but he was not the best boyfriend either. There are a bajillion reasons she could've done it that are justified and even just "dally is a dick" is fine too.

and lets be real here, sylvia probably has a shit life I mea shes dating dally that's gotta say something. Its unlikely shes got a tonna money money and there is probably a reason she wants dally even though he's the way he is and it isn't great.

ALSO SHES A FUCKING CHILD??? people are honestly SO harsh on the Outsiders girls for cheating like yes its wrong but its a literal child who has probably been through and seen some shit I know she hurt your favorite character, but you HAVE to see past that and view the girl as her OWN person, not just as *male characters* chick who hurt him.

and yes, this applies to Sandy too.

honestly so much of the sylvia hate is ridiculous because LOOK at her boyfriend that you adore and tell me shes worse.
