reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru this monstrous shizuo panel looks so raw the textures and shadows and hatching and cool collar flowing in the wind!! this izaya pose split between panels also has a nice theatre kid energy to it i like the vibe little shizuo rolling up his sleeves stomping over ready for a fight so cute <3 hey the way these next two panels of izaya flow is really nice i can imagine the weighty way he sort of swings his head back up the kind of movement you'd put in an amv the dialogue leading into an empty page is cooool and the little specks of black with the flow are a great touch ahh your shizuos are the best i love his rage and the way his collar sort of emotes with it have i shown my appreciation for continuing to draw the cut izaya got on his arm yet? big fan of the way izaya looks a little limp when shizuo grabs at him been thinking about ch31 shizuo grabbing izaya's wrist midair and holding it up while izaya looks at him with the soggiest expression anyways this is the first time shizuo's actually properly holding izaya and not just pulling at his clothes so your raijin redraws are all rizzed up shizuo is the cutest and izaya's the smarmiest the panel of them from the side is so shape <33 i know that little finger prod shook him to his bones they already feel weird without shizuo's strength the shizuo L panel shdgshd “ok fuck!” the little shizuo here haha oh my goddd seeing the next panel again is crazy because i had that as my discord pfp for a while back when i first fell into this hole obviously i think they look really cute there and the monochromes over them are pretty <3 izaya's blank shock !! shizuo's hand there is also looks really gentle ahh nice sentiment shizuo but he's definitely still fucked up over it and now you're being really weird sooo keep it up king :) the izayas in these last two pages are incredibly <3333 i love how extremely *crumpled* he looks!! the last expression we see from him and the gangly armed poses and the way he puts his hood up the way shizuo looks at him though shdsgs i get why it sounds so stupid to izaya

reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru this first shizuo panel is veery cute with the loose cigarette hold i love his attitude to izaya's shit <3 oh wow izaya with his hair brushed back is certainly a look such an evil looking laugh he's got i like the way his hood looks fanned out beneath his head here shizuo gnawing back down on his cigarette there shdsgh the long shot singling out “you'll die and that's the truth” adds an interesting weight to the sound of that line like it's echoing or something with its impact on the topic of death: a closeup on shizuo's throat and collar i really like the nonchalant look of the izaya in this next panel just has that resigned vibe that's kinda rare on him i like shizuo's cigarette snapping for impact uhh since i've started rereading this fic with some friends i've kinda thought about these lines a bit “it doesn't matter if the whole world despises me or if my body breaks” it's a little more obvious in the fic with “if my body broke then I could heal but I ruined myself” sounds sooorta like shizuo doesn't it? “i broke my own principles and lost the right to love all humans” kiinda reflects the way shizuo feels about loving izaya later on anyways his bleeding hand up to the sunlight looks awesome but also was it meant to also look a bit like a hand coming out of the ground like rebirth izaya running in panic !! my head has been looping “better run better run better run” to the image of izaya running in the rain ch31 i'm !! the transition between izaya tripping over the root and falling in the one panel is neat izaya's haaaands they look so grrrrr the smoke trailing from the crushed cigarette on the ground is really nice framing on that panel!! also lol look how isolated he looks there <3 small and hunched the layout around the gang fight with shizuo the center of aaaall the attention and izaya's panels kinda swept to the side ooough the way that izaya's own fucking sisters are in these “actually miss you” panels and shinra's eyes are obscured by the dialogue

reblog drrr comic shizaya go king give us nothing a cheap imitation shigaeru the foreground silhouettes sorta framing the little izaya is a cool shot is the grab supposed to be a speech bubble though? the BOOM panel is really fun i like how it's got a skew on it and the previous panel borders fan out from the explosion also the izaya form looking all wibbly with the impact the uhhh curved lens effect of the environment in that last panel looks cool and carries a nice flow the little impact of the dirt being raised! izaya looks rightfully pathetic scaling that wall haha the huff huff cascading around him is neat the bloody smears from his hands yiiiiikes the little shizuos are so shape though oh btw have i mentioned how much i like the fun shape of the shoes you draw the tilted angle on izaya's fall with the stark silhouettes against an expanse of white look very cool then shizuo's little panel pushing into it hgshds he's cute though with his bored expression and cigarettes oughhhhh you changed it to his left hand breaking the fall that's so meaaaann oowwwwweee the shapes of the crash onomatopoeia around him and that tilt look really cool izaya's collapsed form on the ground there aww <3 shizuo smoking panels giving major idgaf

reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru ah the eye glint!! i like how the fic prefaces it with “the right thing to say” sort of emphasising how wrong and hollow his eyes must've looked to shizuo that's a really nice crunch to the bark in that panel izaya's... deadpan expressions are a good contrast they kill the mood so well dhshds oh hey i didn't notice shizuo throwing izaya back wasn't detailed in the fic here huh well that's a nice choice for impact i love the way you draw izaya's cloud fluff even in his little silhouettes <3 he looks sooo small and pathetic in that next panel i looove also have i mentioned how much i adore the way you rounded out his design throughout the comic because i love the thick puffy look of his sleeves ooh i'm making the connection rn between the cicada panels they're both moments related to the idea of “stopping izaya for good" maybe because they're loud and annoying and leave the shape of themselves all over the place initially i just vaguely associated their symbol to izaya being at this low and having to bring himself back up from there like rebirth but maybe it's also emphasising the way shizuo neeeeds to shut up this noise and finally stop him from ever coming back also i guess izaya feeling like a shell of his ideals after killing someone having to strip off that skin and find himself proper i like the anticipation pose of izaya getting back up with blood running down his wound onto his pants flip knife woo i like the fun shape and flow of the panelling here the knife going thonk on the ground panel fits into its shape really satisfyingly and this izaya looks awesome!! his expression and the perspective on that knife woooo the tree smearing across the panel borders like that is pretty cool the pacing of these last two panels is so fun i love that brief second of silence that carries so much weight before the *chase* izaya's coat <33 love the fun shape it makes and the fluff zipping along with the motion

reblog drrr comic shizaya speaking of a cheap imitation shigaeru woah i seriously never made it past tagging chapter 3 the boys hadn't even met (again) yet!! trying to remedy this rn i really love that first page composition how the establishing shot of action with its environment frame the following panels guiding the eye across the page diagonally like that for the passage of time and the way light sorta spotlights the shoe? helps direct attention to the action before the environment settles into view the transition from the pitch black of shizuo's thoughts pulling out into his search really sets the tone for his more tempered rage here was that an intentional contrast to the hard white at the end of the last chapter? anyways the panel of shizuo pushing up that massive branch or ducking under it endearing to me haha i love your irregularly shaped trees that you also use to frame like this wide shot of shizuo your forest is so gorgeouuus with all the textures and colour grading you put over it the dappled light filtering through the trees and cascading over shizuo <3 oh i'm all over the place but i also like the way you translated the flow of his thoughts here into the comic medium the added “he-- fuck.” and pacing them out across the action the way you did really captures that “almost in a state of calm” and “oil for the mechanical motions of limbs and muscles” feel that one long panel dedicated to “kill him” and the thick scribbles of his rage izaya's huddled form behind the tree <3 ripping the tree out from the ground with the torn panel that also doubles as dirt silhouette and just flows into the next tree wowww the crraaaack also having the cracked lettering his shadow looming over izaya's form and the blood on his cheek coming into view first nice shot progression i really like these expressions on these last panels and the way the monochromes compliment the mood the huddled izaya at the end so small and rounded edges <333

reblog crossover drrr shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima kgpr shizayaweek2023 shigaeru oh my god you have so much artistic rizz my definition of that being that you instill everything with so much style and charm like dude i just love how you make it all look also you drew them as kids and i have a soft spot for seeing characters as their younger selves we understandably don't see too much of that for these two so it feels extra special aaaa their little squishy faces <333 little shizuo is so round waoooo his expressions are adorablee and he has bandages aw izaya pushing out the rope of the swing and shizuo's cautious lean away hunch is so charming ahh rizzing up those shot redraws izaya's expression there with the soft-edged cheekiness so cute and childishly confident they'll make a menace out of him yet i kinda wonder how much they'd know each other at this point? like would they be friends or do they meet on the swings i like the idea of kidzaya who doesn't get a lot of attention seeing kidzuo who draws a lot of attention and like idk but maybe this is izaya reaching out for attention and seeing how this odd kid would react if he– it's probably a rash accident at first but once he realises the timeloop he figures the solution is to make shizuo die in his place maybe to shizuo this is just the first kid willing to approach him and oh he hates how he attracts danger and hurts people beyond his control now i'm interested in seeing how feelings of hate might develop over time as izaya actively manipulates scenes that get to shizuo's head maybe after watching shizuo die in his place a few times to no avail izaya starts to think this is a certain kind of purgatory since he's a nerd like that and this only happened because he approached the monster and led him to believe that he wasn't one and the only way out is to push shizuo into killing him with his own hands as he looks his own monstrosity in the eyes and accepts that he much prefers the face he sees when he's the one dying rather than looking away and pretending that dying like that makes him more human and shizuo realises the kid is ruining his life on purpose and why did he ever feel bad for him from the start both just lonely kids lashing out at what they think is true about themselves and each other until they've bent it into some mangled truth

Izaya is a doctor from the capital who came to a rural town to investigate a case of exceptional longevity and to find the secret to immortality, but got stuck there during a plague outbreak. Shizuo is a local bone setter who, because he got accused of murder and violently defended himself in a fight, is seen as a ripper. He has trouble coming to term with the role of healer that’s been attributed to him. They end up having to work together to face the plague, even though their methods and views differ widely.

reblog drrr soft shizaya i just 😭😭😭😭 izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima shigaeru been thinking about this one a lot lately hhhh hh h h fh g h disintegrate every time i am living for these moments of immense fondness the oh shit realisation that they're in so much deeper than they ever know and this isn't like the first time but the nth doesn't get old they're just existing and then the depths of their affection it hits again and again love to see them just happy and content around each other i probably say this literally every time but izaya is so poof he looks so very soft and huggable shizuo hold him these poses are so nice because like shizuo looks so tender with his hand in izaya's greasy ass hair and izaya's just perched on top of him with the bestest view of shizuo's unbridled joy?? watching humans has nothing on this i also quite like the idea of izaya listening very intently to what shizuo has to say on those rare occasions he has a lot izaya looks both so affectionate and satisfied that he's the reason shizuo is smiling like this and it's so you nailed these expressions right through my heart good sir and the colours are so warm the way you drew their clothes also looks really comfy that's oddly particular but like the soft airbrush and the folds idk they just feel like they've been lived in with each other last tag uhhh they just look so comfortable together it's too sweet

reblog drrr comic shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima they look so alive shigaeru trade negotiations i just read this scene and i aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh but first the inherent eroticism of sword fighting™️ i love the flow of the composition the wind in their clothes and hair izaya's precise blow against shizuo such poise in the angle of his shoulders and shizuo takes it easily with the strength of his bare forearms he has the widest grin on and he doesn't even know izaya's smug and teasing look like try to land a hit ;) and then he does god there is so much feeling in these expressions creased with so much weariness and hurt izaya's so openly stiff and guarded but so very fragile and it tears shizuo apart look at him tearing apart it is so tender i love these all very much shizuo's hair combed back to that teeny ponytail and izaya's frilly shirt are pretty cute mock sparring instead of attending political councils haha pretty accurate

reblog drrr comic shizaya it looks so cool it's a lot a cheap imitation shigaeru love how he puts on his best lounging pose from that awkward position jhdhgasd he's got priorities and still smiling with that bruise from earlier these smug izayas look great by the way i want to pinch then twist his cheeks that panel where he catches the pipe though with the sharp movement of his coat and chains and that extra bit of shading on the coat fluff also how the KL ANK is written like it reverberates off of the impact and echoes through him the way he only uses his knife to parry and handicap the guy you aren't sly you weenie ''at least shizuo'' izaya you are fighting for your life here never miss an opportunity to dig at the guy even in a life or death situation huh the flow of the panels flaring out is great wewww and this shot with the foreshortened knife your little cardboard knife and awesome perspective work wonders the swerving view of the floor as izaya loses ground and the inverted silhouettes have so much oomph also i like how the chains kind of accentuate the flow of every movement um hey i see that pipe as the i there you sneaky oof getting kicked and rocked back so hard into the chair and having to take on the brunt of the pipe with his wrist even with the cuff and these last two panels with that brilliant foreshortening are so intense

reblog drrr comic shizaya and well a cheap imitation shigaeru unwelcome back izaya i like the movement of him assessing the damage to his face from his hand this really nice panel of his hands enjoy them while they last izaya it's only the beginning of izaya getting tossed all over the place klick klick klick klick klick his tiny form hunched over in >:( hksfdhf ''whoever made these is good'' alright izaya it's not like they've already got you in here mmm the behind shot coupled with the screen panels do a great job of making him feel watched while also framing his long winded monologue because he has to make everything a performance such drama i really like the little contrast between shizuo and izaya's imagination though izaya's rendition of death is a lot more childish and that's funny maybe he should have been given the chalk doodles he was pouting real hard back then look at the little man go that smile is a little infectious izaya looks cute all deep in concentration like that with the faint haze of light illuminating him from below oh no little man is in danger that framing though

reblog drrr comic just you wait shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru what a pretty starry night uh oh it's the smell of murder the flow of this first page is really nice eurgh maggots it genuinely looks really gross is that an ocean water transition down to shizuo? that's a really nice touch to a really good panel the heavy marks he dragged along the sand you haven't seen nothing yet shizuo that's a pretty hand hands capable of tearing heads maybe i've been staring at it for too long but the frame being layered like that as if striking past shizuo's shoulder gives his motion an extra sense of urgency maybe this set of panels in general though really satisfying composition suddenly a certain flea isn't so disagreeable those wide shots i really like the way you use black and white and different greys throughout your panels to intensify their emotions it genuinely looks really dynamic and pretty especially in the darker environments and it's super effective like here as the sun rises and gives shizuo this really nice glow also how the diagonal panel structure goes completely back at the end and kind of just hangs out behind him that and the hard shadows over his kneeling form really bring together that solemn vibe that resigned shizuo expression too he looks so tired already

reblog drrr comic good shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru the fade in from ''i have someone to thank then'' to ''passed up a perfect opportunity is what i did!'' is great hgfgh i've got to commend the way you manage to adapt the narrative voice into thoughts and dialogue that flow together really well also just a me thing but the crack crack of the hands to the crunch crunch of the sands it's been over an hour and this man is still thinking about izaya i too feel the intense urge to start pacing around aimlessly and ranting to myself when flea is on the brain the cut on his arm ahh shizuo with rolled up sleeves aw is he trying to keep the blood off the clothes kasuka got him good on him for not totally losing his shit when izaya cut it that screaming shizuo panel hjgjghhj he has so much rage and the flea background it's perfect i can hear the buzzing the expression with his hand there too is great that curved panel swerving with the swoopy perspective i don't know words but i think that's really cool his cuffs just casually strung across the sand we hardly see him even acknowledge them because they are literally just ugly bracelets i like the smoke flowing over the panel nice of you to take a moment away from fuming over izaya to actually think about where ya going shizuo hghsajhdgvahjh shizuo with the dango so cute cup ramen for dinner huh i just have to imagine him swerving out of the store and instantly toppling over on his way out last tag to talk about the expressions particularly with the dango and at the end they are good he just really cares for dango

reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru pouty izaya is fantastic the little doodles with the chalk hgjdjdb what a great shizuo panel this reeks of flea stench i’ve got to take a drag then pauses because wtf was that izaya sinking lower and lower into that cushy chair of his what a sulky child and a massive nerd get up hey watch out shizuo you need to ration those what lovely close ups though are you having fun izaya that foreshortening on the knife resting on his finger like that probably not safe but it sure looks super cool this page with izaya waving is nice with his cut on shizuo’s arm almost level in the frame and the immediate drop of of his act after getting in the last word and he’s left alone that expression is great ooh the flow of the angy fist to him noticing the lock is genius i loove that give me seamless character acting and i’ll eat it right up thank you very much ah your island backgrounds are so pretty don’t mind the murder i’ve finally reached the end of one (1) chapter well done can i keep this up i'll try to space these out

reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru the of course expression is so cute how dare he i love the panel composition for the profiles you capture that flow and energy of those character title cards that flash in the midst of action so well all while the quick panels of the phone light lead our attention towards the other person in the room it all happens so seamlessly? and the way the shadows cast over shizuo's form it makes him look all the more *monstrous* even though his sleeping face is pretty peaceful hdhgjh ikebukuro's strongest indeed yeah izaya like a sleeping lion look at the tiny zaya at the zoo he's so poof and not just staring at humans like a weirdo for once his bored attitude is a lot of fun with your expressions he's getting real comfortable in that chair his pose is great hahaha i love how the panel darkens and shrinks after the message has ended he just sits there in silence and stares at his phone in the dark then klink klink klink you translated that moment so perfectly i am in suuch awe at the control you have over the flow and mood of the scene and your use of sound effects to accentuate that i can really hear them and maybe it's just a me thing that really likes imagining the soundscape to get immersed in something but it's really easy to imagine here and i appreciate that a lot

reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru it's the sound of me spamming these reblog tags i'm in a mood so i've decided to start reblogging the whole thing i want to go through each of the chapters over time sorry everyone these tags get really pedantic first of all the cover is still really good i like how unevenly the title is written it just looks really cool and how the foliage is rendered really soft despite the rich red of murder all around it which by the way is that blood on the ground in front of izaya alluding to the boy's first murder? i love how poof you draw his coat always and shizuo's expression being so openly disgusted at it all back to back compositions are always cool i'm running out of tags before i get to the actual comic itself i adore how you use the visual medium to convey a lot of what's going on inside their minds like the chain catching on the edge of the chair to restrict his movement and in almost three panels you've established the situation immediately your bored izaya expressions are kind of cute and that's a crime i'm willing to forgive look at him he thinks he knows what's coming smug ass the door is open behind you oh no is the tea okay izaya's coat fluff is like clouds i love it lots the utter loathing at actually being outsmarted that pose for the dungeon cosplay line is so perfect and the suspects panel mmm your composition is so so good
