One day, the Roger and Whitebeard Pirates fought again, but somewhere in the middle of Roger and Edward's battle, Rayleigh grabbed his captain and Roger wanted to be indignant at first, but his first mate said in panic that he couldn't find their boys. Shanks and Buggy were too young and were told to stay on the ship, but they clearly didn't listen and Rayleigh realized this and wasted no time. Roger almost immediately began to panic along with him and Edward Newgate could have been angry that their fight was interrupted, but instead he was angry and yelled at Roger for letting his "sons" disappear.
Now the entire battle has stopped and the pirates from both crews are busy trying to find the two boys all over the island and both captains are arguing with each other
Something like
E:How could you even let this happen?!"
R:"I didn't have time to keep an eye on them, you know, I was busy with you!"
E:"You're a terrible father, that's all!"
R:"WHAā"
R: GOD JUST SHUT UP AND FIND THIS KIDS
Every time Buggy and Shanks do something incredibly stupid, Rayleigh feels it in some parental way. At first it was when they were little and Rayleigh wasn't around, but as soon as he felt that strange sensation he would immediately start looking for them and would find them in the most ridiculous, possibly dangerous situations.
The thing is, it stayed with him even when Baby Blue and Baby Red became adults. He's just sitting at the bar drinking his booze like he always does and then he stops for a few seconds and goes "Damn... Buggy's doing it again...."

Look I like Roger enough, I understand what he represents and I generally donāt think he was a bad dude. I do however think he was shit at interpersonal relationships because, what the fuck. Whitebeards crew is infinitely more well adjusted and Iād say he arguably had the more traumatic death.
Like what even, what kind of planning leads a 53 year old man to sire a child knowing he is dying of an incurable illness and is about to turn himself in to be excuted by the marines where he will cause so much chaos it is literally still turning the world on its head 22 years later. He knew he was going to cause so much of a stir that he literally disbanded his crew and told them to spread far and wide to keep them safe. Because he knew the marines would hunt them far and wide But yet he still brought a baby into the world. Babe. What the fuck? What even is that? What was the thought process. I sincerely hope it was an accident and not a deliberate attempt to bring about a new era.

can we talk about the fact that shanks probably goes to elbaf so frequently because he misses gaban and wants to visit him? š„ŗ and we know that he met with rayleigh at some point too a few years ago kajdkans he misses his dads so much šš
Oh boy I thought people were over the Rayleigh-Zoro parallel being a 1 for 1 thing. But I see with this chapter they're not and now they're doing the same with Sanji and GabƔn.
Rayleigh was a parallel to both Zoro and Sanji and Gaban's the same.
Rayleigh's a swordsman but he also uses his legs to fight while GabƔn uses two axes (which ironically makes for 3 weapons + 1 pair of legs, it's probably just chance but who knows with Oda).
Rayleigh made fun of Zoro's stupidity the same way Sanji would, he's got a got a scar similar to Zoro's.
Rayleigh's a big drinker like Zoro and Gaban's very into love like Sanji.
Gaban's linked to Wano like Zoro and they both like to stir shit up.
Both Sanji-Zoro and GabƔn-Rayleigh will not hesitate to argue against their captains if they feel like it's needed, so far GabƔn and Zoro have only been shown to do it when they're particularly worried (both shown in chapter 1139), meanwhile Sanji and Rayleigh will scold Luffy-Roger for more mundane stuff as much as when they're worried.
So like outwardly GabƔn-Sanji and Zoro-Rayleigh parallels are super obvious but in truth it's a mix because Luffy's crew is not just a copy of Roger's.
(also don't comment by saying that both Rayleigh and Zoro are 1st mate/Vice Captain as a parallel, Oda confirmed in vol. 102's SBS Zoro isn't, which we've been knew but apparently not everyone, anyway the idea of the Strawhats having a 1st mate is just weird when them not caring about hierarchy bc they're a family is so important)

Give me a fic where Garp does his damnest to find a photo of Aceās mother to give it to him for his birthday. Give me a fic where Ace goes to Baterilla and finds an old midwife who remembers his mother and quietly talks about her will to keep her son safe. Give me a fic where an old man with a flower on his head would sometimes visit the South Blue to keep an eye on his late captainās beloved and son. Give me a fic where Buggy challenges all pirate-hopefuls attempting to go to the Grand Line and stopping short when he sees Aceās freckles and eyes.
Give me a fic where he pulls him aside and asks his name, and breaks down crying as he hugs him and chants underneath his breath, āYouāre alive, youāre here, youāre alive.ā Give me a fic where itās Buggy that tells him about the Roger Pirates, about his fool of a captain, about his longsuffering first mate, of his annoying fellow cabin boy, and of his captainās lover with a red hibiscus on her hair always. Give me a fic where Shanks fights the urge to hug Ace and wrap him up with his cloak the moment he sees him in the cold. Give me a fic where Ace shyly asks stories of his mother, but doesnāt hate his father as much as he did before.
Give me a fic where Rayleigh gets up from his seat and swims all the way to Marineford, because heāll be damned to just watch and have another loved one (although Ace doesnāt know him) die when he can do something. Give me a fic where Buggy swoops in to carry Ace and Luffy somewhere far away from the war, all the while screeching at his Vice-Captain, āWhat took you so long!?ā and mentally willing Shanks to show the fuck up already. Give me a fic where Ace is watching all the people who love him battle in the war and win, because heās safe and in the Moby with his brother crying all over him and wrapped twice around his torso.
Give me a fic where Rayleigh, Buggy and Shanks stand off in the middle of the battlefield, all hackles raised and weapons and fists glinting black with haki. Give me a fic where the entire world trembles in anticipation for the upcoming clash, where Whitebeard gurararaās with unbridled glee, where Sengoku feels fear, and where Garp grins with reckless abandon for everyone to see. Give me a fic where Law has to treat two human patients with the Dark King waiting in his submarine. Give me a fic where Buggy and Shanks argue while waiting for them to wake up. Give me a fic where Ace wakes up to dozens of happy faces smiling down at him, filled with joy upon seeing him awake.
Give me a fic where Crocus speeds towards them in Amazon Lily, hoping beyond hope that Ace didnāt get his fatherās illness. Give me a fic where everything hurts but will be alright, where there are as much as tears as there are to peals of laughter. Give me a fic where everyone hugs Ace and ruffles his hair and claps his back and welcomes him with open arms.
Give me a fic where a flock of crows suddenly circle above them and a blonde man with a top hat comes flying down with the face of a brother thought lost and tears in his eyes. Give me a fic where the ASL become whole once more and are reunited without one of them never having the chanceto know the other was actually alive. Give me a fic where Garp comes weeks later and engulfs his grandsons in a hug and nearly burns his coat of justice in the pit, only to be stopped by Luffy who grins at him like heās never known pain and forgives him wholly.

What do you mean Shanks didnāt recognize Ace when he came seeking him out to thank him for saving his little brother? What do you mean he wasnāt holding back tears as they shared drinks and stories about their favorite rubber boy? What do you mean he didnāt cry buckets when Ace left and had to be consoled by Benn and Yassop and Roux?
What do you mean Crocus didnāt take one look at this youndgster and nearly had a heart attack? Whta do you mean he didnāt remember that feisty womanās last name and her freckles? What do you mean he didnāt call Rayleigh with a desperate, hopeful voice asking what was Rougeās last name?
What do you mean Buggy didnāt see his captainās eyes and grin on Aceās face when he crashed their party in his ship? What fo you mean Buggy didnāt call Shanks to ask him who the fuck this kid was and why the fuck does he have Rogerās hair and eyes and Ms. Rougeās freckles and smile? What do you mean he didnāt go batshit crazy internally when he heard Luffy say that Portgas D. Ace was his captainās biological son, and that he was going to be killed for his goddamn blood?
What do you mean Rayleigh didnāt want to go and save Ace when the Visual Transponder Snails broadcasted the execution? What do you mean Shakky had to place a hand on his shoulder to stop himāfrom what? The Government? The Whitebeards? The world?
What do you mean Rayleighās heart didnāt shatter to pieces once more when Aceās body fell to the ground, that Buggy felt despair claw into his mind when he heard Luffyās heartwrenching cry, that Shanks didnāt curse the world and back when he came far, far too late.
What do you mean this didnāt all happen? What do you mean that they donāt care?
What do you mean they just stood there and did nothing?
