“Am I dating a car guy?” he asks, sounding incredibly baffled about it. Yuri wheezes. “No,” he laughs on it, still focused on Charley’s fingers ghosting circles over his life line. “I know my car. Not all of them,” he pauses here, because part of that sentence has gotten all tangled up in his ribs. “...are you dating me?” Yuri asks softly. Charley’s fingers freeze in their gentle circles and stars, and Yuri regrets asking just for the overwhelming feeling of loss that comes with it. He tilts his head only to find Charley already gazing at him. He could swear he sees starlight reflected in those eyes. “Do you want me to be?” Charley murmurs. Like Yuri wouldn’t crack open his own ribcage and offer up his long-dead heart in his hands if he thought Charley would want him to.
