I was. Possessed doing this piece I swear.
I inked all of C.R.A.B. and most of it is black in the painting lmfaoooooo artist life. Very much a wild ride doing all the gas swirls like Jupiter's storm cells into the cold of the water there, and hundreds of bubbles, and all the water webbing. A really fun exercise in value painting for the background, and a lot of horrible pain tbh because this song is painfully fitting for them and I looped it a fair bit when going wild painting.
People keep mentioning that Lee Majdoub is the CEO of Stobotnik and an all-around great guy. So nobody has to touch Twitter for proof, have a compilation of his Stobotnik and great-guyness tweets.
I was rewatching the first Sonic movie the other day and I find it so fucking funny that after Robotnik does the weird electrocution thingymajigger with Sonic’s quill for the first time he offers it to stone so he can do the same. Idk why but that scene brings me joy.
never in my 50 millions years of life did I ever think I’d ship Dr Eggman with anyone. Or that I’d be adding both of them to my hear me out list. (Specifically the movies)

Heyyyyy, disappeared for a bit and came back with an 8-page comic. This goes with the reverse AU I made a bit ago. This is the first slightly NSFW thing I've ever drawn (where are my Ace babes, wassup) and was cringing the whole but it's done. One of my personal headcannons for the canon characters is Stone smokes but stopped when he worked for the doctor because he has asthma or some shit. In my AU, he tries to wean off it but gets annoyed. Robotnik helps him keep him mouth busy with lollipops (and other things 👀). [ stone doesn’t say a thing, the first time robotnik graciously allows him to sleep in his bed and silently brings out a tattered heap of brown fabric from beneath his pillow. the doctor makes no introduction, just curls up with the time-worn, well-loved toy cradled to his chest, and grumbles, “you’re big spoon. if you snore, I’m going to smother you with a pillow.”
stone swallows around the overwhelming fondness threatening to choke him, and wraps himself around the doctor without a word. he can feel the synthetic fur brushing against his fingers as he curls one arm around robotnik’s ribs. he marvels at the staggering amount of trust the doctor is putting in him, in this moment, and closes his eyes. ]
hello! I’m here to share some gooey stuffed animal feelings :) I was struck by this idea sometime last week and just couldn’t get it out of my head. the idea of Botnik having few things that he could call his own as a child resulting in him clinging to those things as an adult…. gah. full image and a lone shot of the stuffed animal in question below the cut!
a bit of explanation: I don’t have solid ages for the robotniks featured here, but the general idea was (1) tiny baby botnik, (2) youth/teen, (3) adult, (4) somewhere around the time of s1. also yes stone did locate a replacement button for sir stuffins (hence the purple). it took a lot of gentle suggestion before robotnik even thought about making such a change, but ultimately he’s happy with the result.
[ he’s touched that stone takes his comfort creature so seriously, and has never mocked him for clinging to something so childish, even at his age. to have such a clear reminder of that every time he gazes upon his childhood companion is endlessly comforting :’^) ]

None of Robotnik's degrees are in medicine. Why should he care about that? His interest in the human body ends with his own. That is, until one time when Stone got really hurt, and the Doctor could do nothing. He coped by... teaching himself everything there is to know about medicine! He's very normal like that. Never bothered getting a degree for that one though.

Happy early Valentines day, have something completely out of my wheelhouse! I wasn't joking in my previous comic, Stobotnik has me in a stranglehold (though as a heads up to anyone who doesn't follow me: I don't expect I'll be making more, I'm sorry 😔This is definitely a one-off)
Going through some old art of mine got me missing doing stylized, cartoony stuff so I thought this would be a good opportunity to push myself to bring some of that back into my life. Unfortunately the universe had it out for this thing and tried to stop me with pneumonia (it failed HAH) and every time I got closer to finishing it, I got struck with a new, more hellish stage of illness. I had 2 other panels I wanted to do for this and just had to tap out early😭

his outfit includes the movie 1!Robotnik jacket & control gloves, with the rest of the look being loosely inspired by Eggman Nega?
I went through a few concepts before the comic became what it was, including another comic concept and an animatic:
The animatic specifically was going to be of "Because I Asked You" by Eleanor Friedberger, and was going to have a lil chibi intro of pre-movie 1 Stone & Robotnik.
I didnt get far in it obviously but one of the parts was salvaged and reused for the finished comic!
