Hello slasher community :) did ya need a shirtless Tommy?
I did.
Thomas Hewitt
Because I swear he can talk đ
Hii - Iâve been thinking about this for a while now: What would Thomasâ voice sound like? I decided to waste my time {watching TCM interviews / bts} so that I could gauge what Thomasâ voice would sound like.
Evidently, Thomas would have an accent reminiscent of those around him. Luda Mae, Henrietta, and Kathryn / The Tea Lady have the most authentic âTexanâ accents out of the family, considering those actresses are the only ones from Texas. Hoyt / R Lee Ermey is from Kansas, and Old Monty / Terrence Evans was born in Pensylvania. Andrew Bryniarski {Thomas} was also born in Pensylvania - Which is very evident in his accent in later interviews.
Things to consider: Bryniarski has been suspected of the usage of sterroids and alcohol abuse - Which can alter your voice - This is extremely prevalent when comparing modern interviews to older interviews.
Bryniarskiâs voice is slightly nasally, a bit raspy, and on the deeper-end of the spectrum. At times, his pitch is average - Others, itâs lower. His voice never gets âhighâ when heâs speaking, but it can through non-serious or extreme measures. I.E; When Thomas' leg gets cut {1:19:15}, Erin chops off his arm {1:25:07}.
Thomas' vocal cords don't appear to be damaged, just scarcely used. This could make speaking a difficult and uncomfortable {mentally, physically} task for Thomas. It's a chore rather than second-nature. This also applies to his oral and mastication muscles. The only time he uses his mastication muscles is when he eats - which is AT MAX three times a day. I'd say maybe just two. This would lead to muscle atrophy - weakening or loss of mass in the muscles. When we talk, the neck and tongue muscles {Strap muscles, Thyroid muscle group, Cricoarytenoid muscle group, Genioglossus, hyoglossus, palatoglossus, styloglossus, Superior lingualis, inferior lingualis, vertical lingualis, and transverse lingualis} do the majority of the work.
Considering Thomas' mastication muscles are weaker, he'd {most likely} have difficulty pronouncing "t", "k", "d", "g", and "r". Thomas would also be prone to slurring, mispronunciation, slow speech / common pauses, enunciate the wrong syllable - or enunciate equally, and inconsistent speech / errors.
Here's clips of Andrew speaking on the TCM set - I figured clips of him on / around set would be more accurate to how Tommy speaks JUST BECAUSE Andrew would be in the headspace of Thomas during this time.
{Warning: The audio quality is so ass I apologize đ}
I think Thomas' voice would be more like Bryniarski's in the third video - where he's talking about Leatherface's relation to the chainsaw | 'Leatherface's best friend is his chainsaw.' {Which I will be making a post about that specific statement.}
Obviously - Thomas would have a southern {Texan, specifically} accent, though I don't know how 'rough' or 'thick' his accent would be. I have an inkling that Thomas would have a rasp because of his weakened vocal cords. Probably lots of depth to his voice, though it wouldn't be excruciatingly deep. Most likely reminiscent of Andrew's pitch - With minor changes depending on the situation, energy levels, hydration, headspace, and how much he's spoken that day {I'm projecting here âïžđ€}. His preferred form of communication would be minimal, blunt statements, using as little words as possible. Simple 'yes'' and 'no's' would be portrayed through nodding / shaking of the head. Directions would be communicated via pointing.
For example;
"Have you eaten yet? / Are you hungry?" = "You eat?"
"I like green." = "Green, good."
This is NOT because Thomas is dumb - Contrary to popular belief of the town. It's because talking is a chore for Thomas. It's something he has to think and put effort into as opposed to yapping your ear off. He'd also only speak if it was really important. I doubt he'd be a chatterbox, but he'd make noise like grunts or groans - Some incomprehensible sounds that are only distinguishable by those who've been around him long enough. You'll get the hang of it - Recognizing certain sounds correlate with specific experiences or responses. Do NOT try to imitate them - He'll glare and shut off socially; Which is the opposite of what you want if you want to get close to Thomas. {And Luda Mae would beat you black n' blue for making fun of Tommy.}
--
tldr; Thomas would {most likely} have a voice reminiscent of Andrew Bryniarski's - Slightly raspy, heavily molded by a Texan accent and pronunciation issues.

TW: Self-harm, Self-mutilation, Rape {only mentioned twice, and very brief}, Hoyt warning, TCM-Canon-Typical Violence
Thomas {Hewitt} is such a complex character that I feel is taken to such extremes - he's either oversimplified or outrageously radical. For example: The two most-common tropes I see for him {which I'm not demeaning, just critiquing} are A.) He's an extremely sadistic, unforgiving maniac who has no form of empathy or depth to him {this trope usually makes him a rapist, sex-fiend, or someone who uses sex as a way to resolve disagreements.} B.) An extremely-traumatized individual who can do no wrong, doesn't understand the weight of his actions, a consistently-scared man who's socially unaware of EVERYTHING, and just generally a character with no depth. {This trope ALSO usually portrays Thomas as a sex-fiend as well as someone who uses sex as a form of apology.} The truth is - Thomas is such a complex man; Not only in his character but truly in his nature {which I guess is another word for character but whtever.} YES; He is sadistic. YES; He's traumatized. Yes; He's socially unaware at times - But he's NEITHER of those extremes - at least not by default. I understand the first trope , considering he does appear that way to victims - especially Kemper and Bailey. That being said, he {in the mentality of Thomas} had "valid" reasons to target those two: Bailey referred to him as a "what" {"What is that?"} and Kemper barged into the house uninvited. Thomas knows Erin was invited, he was watching through the basement peephole. He knew Andy wasn't invited based off the way Monty treated him. Also - let's address an obvious-but-often-overlooked aspect of Thomas' "killing patterns": The men he kills - the masks he makes - the way he treats the "masks-to-be" all seem to hint at his potential jealously and envy. He tortured Eric by skinning his fuckin arms - he knocked Kemper out with a sledge hammer and presumably {implied by him picking up a chain of meat hooks} attaches him to a meat hook. Kemper's WAKING UP on a meat hook just to get killed and skinned. Thomas' forms of catharsis are destructive in nature - which seem to extend beyond his victims. In the unrated version of the film, during the "first supper" scene, as Thomas rests his arms against the head crest of the dining chair {this is the most popular GIF of him}, there's multiple scars around his arms - all which vary in size, depth, and location. Sure, these could be work-related accidents, which I'm sure some are, but some seem to be a form of self-harm as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority are self-inflicted; Considering Thomas has no other outlet of emotional regulation or consistent support system. To get into further detail, let's break down his prominent character traits individually:
Protective + Family Oriented {and Selfless}
It's very obvious that Thomas is protective, both of his things and his people. He's not possessive, at least not in my interpretation. His devotion to his family comes in selfless ways; Including sacrificing his own safety just to keep the family alive and well - Together. He refused to stop chasing Erin; Even after injuring his leg and losing his arm. He killed the slaughterhouse manager because he insulted his family; Insulting him and his family's hard work to survive. He lost not only his job and his purpose that day, but his family's main income. His selflessness often leads to him getting taken advantage of and overworked. For example; The family fully relies on him and Hoyt for their survival; Though mostly Thomas. Hoyt can do enough, sure, but if Thomas was gone, the whole family would go with him one way or another. I find he genuinely doesn't view himself "on their level." As in he's subservient to them. This post is essentially the essence Im hinting at. He focuses on his purpose - If that purpose isn't fulfilled, "I haven't done enough - I'm not trying hard enough - The family's not proud of me - They shouldn't be proud of me - ect."
Reserved / Distant
Thomas is very reserved which is very obviously a defense mechanism developed in early childhood. He's distant not only because of his trauma, but his personality as well. I've always interpreted him as a natural introvert - which would've been amplified if he so happens to be autistic. Of course, not all autistic individuals are introverted, I just figured because of his predisposed characteristics. Thomas prefers to observe rather to interact; Almost acting as a shadow amongst concrete - Or a fly upon the wall: Watching every movement and discerning every sound. I talk more about this in a previous post.
Cautious {and Selective}
Adding on to the previous segment, Thomas is very cautious {and selective} with the people he surrounds himself with. Strangers? Absolutely not - unless it's obligatory. His family? Yes. I think this traces back to his trauma and social anxiety; His speech impediment makes it excruciatingly difficult to socialize, further isolating himself and his family from 'evil outside' civilizations. Hoyt's consistent hatred for 'hippy' city-slingers and the family's already-biased ignorant and overly-traditional values make Thomas' social pool a drying puddle.
Judgmental, Envious, {and Violent}
To add onto Hoyt's hatred for city-slinging, draft-dodging, hippy protesters; This hate definitely rubs off on Thomas. He's judgmental - both for survival and out of envy. His momma's "Christian teachings" about how full of sin the world is surely don't help the judgment issues. It's a calamitous cycle which gets worse with each year they spend in solitude. Their fear of society - fear of judgment - keeps them hidden from the rest of the world: Abandoned by the government as they're forced to fend for themselves. Forced to lay low within the shadows so they can remain together, as opposed to rotting in separate jail cells. In a way, it's their own "solitary confinement." Solitary confinement can cause an increase in violence / violent tendencies - Which is no surprise in the case of the Hewitt family. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness,
"Those with mental illness are overrepresented in solitary confinement, despite the vulnerability and threats to the mental health of those incarcerated. Research shows that the effects of solitary confinement on mental health are often fatal, both during and after incarceration. Half of all suicides in prisons and jails occur in solitary confinement. A recent study shows the long-lasting effects; that any amount of time spent in solitary increases the risk of death in the first year after release. Individuals were overall 24% more likely to die in the first year after release, including from suicide (78% more likely) and homicide (54% more likely). They were also 127% more likely to die of an opioid overdose in the first two weeks after release."
How does this relate to judgment and envy? I'll tell you:
Thomas is so conspicuously envious - We can see it in every scene with Eric. When we beats the shit out of Eric whilst caressing his face in admiration - Only to calculatingly caress his own in desperation. The way he gasps once he sees Kemper's wedding ring {for Erin} - Only to follow it up with wearing his face to visit her?? His envy comes out as judgment; His anxiety comes out as judgment. His judgment comes out as violence. It's a continuous cycle which he's learned over time from multiple sources.
Creative, Appreciative, Resourceful
Do I even have to explain this one? Nah I'm kidding.
Thomas is a creative and skilled individual who knows taxidermy, sewing, patchwork, leather-working/smith, all that jazz. It's not only a form of catharsis, but a form of hiding himself from the world. He takes pieces of what he finds beautiful, stitches them together, and presents himself as that "collection" of beauty. It's his way to turning himself "beautiful." This leads me to believe he finds beauty in the smallest things. A decaying carcass? A new mask. Withered and rusting jewelry? A new accessory. Left-behind tools? His tools now. He takes care of the things he loves, and loves to take care of what's been forgotten. He's appreciative of small things; Especially considering the Hewitt family didn't {and still doesn't} have much but themselves and their old farm. He notices the small things. The usually insignificant, under-appreciated, forgotten things. Maybe it's out of necessity; Maybe it's because he feels he's one of those things - Just not one deserving of the same grace.
Reliant {and Independant}
Notice how the family always calls for Thomas? They call multiple times, sure, but that seems to be more out of annoyance than worry. They know Thomas will get the job done - He always does - and he does it damn well. He works hard; He was quite literally one of the slaughterhouse's hardest workers. He worked 'till he was forced out of there. Thomas is stubborn, sure, but it helps get his work done. And - it keeps him safe.
Besides meal-prep, housing, cleaning, and transport, Thomas is very independent. He can hunt forage his own food; Protect himself and others; Make his own clothes; Hell, he'd learn how to cook and clean if he needed to. He doesn't really need transport - at least not in his mind. He's content - He'll make do with what he has. It's like the quote from 'Pearl' "One day you will understand that getting what you have isn't what's important - Making the most of what you have is."

TW: Self-mutilation, Hoyt mention {very very brief}, typical canon activities, self-harm?, skin conditions,
Very poor editing, my apologies -
Speech:
Iâve seen many people assume that Thomas either A.) Doesnât speak by choice; B.) Canât speak from vocal {cord} issues; Or C.) A combination of the two / his facial deformity. I agree with everyone else but Iâd also like to add a potential reason: Iâm pretty sure Thomas was diagnosed with âmetal deteriorationâ of some sort in the introduction scene {2006/The Beginning}, and considering this was the mid-late 1900âs, knowledge on mental health was very little compared to now, especially in such a small town. Thomas could possibly be neurodivergent, maybe high-function autism but even then, Thomas could simply have a condition called Speech Apraxia/Apraxia of Speech/AOS/CAS. âIn CAS, the brain has trouble planning for speech movement. The brain isn't able to properly direct the movements needed for speech. The speech muscles aren't weak, but the muscles don't form words the right way.â - Mayo Clinic. This couldâve been amplified by his facial deformity. I donât think itâs irrational to think Thomas can speak, or speaks scarcely, but itâs also not irrational to think Thomas just doesnât speak. I donât think itâs a vocal cord issue as Thomas can make sounds pretty well {Considering he screams/yells/yelps at times in the 2003 remake, and even âhowlsâ in the 2006 version after he gets stabbed by Chrissie.} This is just a thought though, I could be wrong.
Skin Condition:
In a behind-the-scenes video {which can be found on youtube}, one of the crew members said Thomas had an extreme form of skin cancer. Now, this could very well be true, but if it was a real-world condition, Thomas would either be bed-ridden, hooked to a machine constantly, or dead. This condition could be made up, but Iâve found two possible real-world conditions which Thomas may have.Â
Cutaneous Lupus {CLE}. âCutaneous lupus is one type of lupus â an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in different body tissues. âCutaneous lupus,â which means skin lupus, affects your skin. Inflammation in your skin causes a variety of symptoms â most often a red, scaly rash. These symptoms are triggered by sunlight exposure.â - Cleveland Clinic. This, as most skin conditions, can be localized, meaning theyâre only in one area. In Thomasâ case, this is his face. This could also occur in his scalp, neck, and ears for all we know. CLE is also not contagious.
___
What is CLE?Â
âCutaneous lupus, or skin lupus, is an autoimmune disease that affects your skin, causing skin rashes. Autoimmune diseases happen when your immune system mistakenly attacks your own body tissues. In cutaneous lupus, your immune system attacks your skin cells, causing chronic inflammation in your skin. This manifests as a recognizable rash, often with related symptoms like itching, irritation or swelling.â - Cleveland Clinic
2. Pustular Psoriasis. Now, this diagnosis doesnât make the most sense until you see the actual âphotoâ of Thomasâ face. A photo {Which is shown below} is from the 2006/The Beginning behind-the-scenesâ on youtube. This looks A LOT like Pustular Psoriasis to me; Though I could be very wrong. âSymptoms of pustular psoriasis include pustules (white or yellow, pus-filled, painful bumps) that may be surrounded by inflamed or reddened/discolored skin. The pus in pustules is caused by inflammation and is not contagious. People with plaque psoriasis or other types of psoriasis may also develop pustular psoriasisâ - The National Psoriasis Foundation. Common placement of Pustular Psoriasis includes the hands, feet, scalp, and face. It usually affects the hands and feet {Palmoplantar pustulosis}, but not in all patients.
___
Whatâs the Difference?
âPustular psoriasis is a type of psoriasis that causes skin plaques with pustules or blisters anywhere on your body. Palmoplantar pustulosis, which is also known as palmoplantar pustular psoriasis, is pustular psoriasis that affects only your hands and feet.â - Cleveland Clinic
___
What is Pustular Psoriasis?
Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease, as is CLE: âYour immune system keeps your body healthy by defending itself against foreign invaders like bacteria. These invaders can make you sick. If you have psoriasis, your skin immune system becomes overactive and releases inflammatory molecules that cause healthy skin cells to divide and replicate too quickly, which causes dead skin cells to form on the surface of your skin as scales or flakes. This state of immunologic over-activity also causes certain cells from the immune system called neutrophils to collect in the most superficial layers of the skin, which causes pustules.â - Cleveland Clinic
Photo for Reference:
Iâm not joking, this is an actual screenshot from the Behind-The-Scenes at around 32:17. Now, I donât think Thomasâ condition AS SEEN IN THE FILMS is as extreme, but this might be what a flare-up looks like for him. That being said, thereâs a significant feature Thomas has that we havenât addressed yet,
How Did Thomas Lose His Nose?
In The Beginning {2006}, we can see Thomasâ nose cartilage rotting off from multiple open wounds. Just based on this information, itâs safe to assume it just rotten off, right? Not necessarily. Looking at Thomasâ face reveal in the 2003 remake, we notice the nose is cleanly cut off right where the ârotâ/wound was in the 2006 version. Combine this with his tendency of self-mutilation, this leads me to assume he {or someone in the family} cut it off. Now, Iâve researched this a bit {hyperfixation running rampant rn} and cutting off your nose doesnât hit any major arteries and isnât life-threatening on its own. However, your nose is part of whatâs called the âTriangle of Death.â The Triangle of Death is a part of the face featuring the nose all the way down to the corners of the mouth. Because this area is so close to your brain as well as openings in your face, infections can be deadly. So cutting off your own nose could kill you from infection, not the act itself. Obviously, Thomas didnât die from this as heâs in the damn movies with a fully-healed 'nose'. Anyway, going back to observing his face, we can also see the nasal bone. Finally answering the question: Itâs safe to assume Thomas picks at his skin alot. Combine this with poor hygiene and wearing his {very dirty} mask all the time, his wounds most likely got infected. This caused him to literally rot from the inside out, which caused necrosis. Thomas most likely cut his nose off because of an infection that had the potential to be fatal. Lord knows Luda Mae was probably horrified and Iâm sure Hoyt wasnât too thrilled either..{Montyâs snoozinâ 100%}
Anyway, apologies for the poorly-edited and non-coherent rant. I see so many theories and get a bit intimidated to comment under most of them so I decided to post this instead. :)
Hugging this man is not a desire, itâs a necessity.
Instagram | Ko-fi | Commissions
Thomas didnât just kill his boss for firing him. That job was all he thought his life was worth. He was rejected from the army in the beginning of the movie if iâm remembering correctly, and he started working at 12. That job was his entire life, and the only time anyone had ever told him he was useful.
We can also see this in the way he composes himself. In The Beginning, heâs a lot more physically put together. His clothes are still filthy but itâs nothing compared to 2003, where his clothes are literally black with grime and ripped all over. Heâs also much quieter in the Beginning, but in the 2003 movie, itâs like heâs lost all sense of normalcy and just embraced absolute insanity because thatâs all he can do.
Now, he sees killing people as his only purpose, just like he saw the butcher job as his only purpose before. Because thatâs all he is treated as, a weapon or a tool. He is never treated like a person, not even by his own family. And so he doesnât see himself as a person. He stops trying to even act like a person.
He literally became the monster everyone told him he was.
Iâve never posted before but I saw this post and just had to say it-
I believe the very prominent difference between Thomas in the 2006 movie compared to the 2003 movie was written SO well.
He is physically and mentally rotting. His nose has completely rotted off of his face, and idk if anyone else noticed this but heâs wearing the exact same clothes as the 2006 movie, and they donât appear to have been washed (which means thatâs almost 4 years of blood and gore buildup đ€ą).
As for his mental state, in the prequel he is completely silent, very shy and reserved. And 4 years later, heâs very vocal, he has a lot of personality, heâs so much crueler and more dedicated to his work. I believe this could either be due to his mental condition (mental deterioration) or the sheer amount of trauma he has, from both his childhood, the bullying and isolation, and in adulthood, the constant murder and violence. That has to change a person drastically. Or both. And the fact that thatâs reflected on his appearance is a great plot point in my opinion.
Ik no one will see this but had to say my piece lol
Is it just me or does maskless Tommy in tcm 2003 just. Not look like Tommy.
Here, walk with me.
Here we have Thomas. Beautiful Thomas. Long wavy hair, thick arms, wide chest, comfy, pillow-perfect tummy, intense, soul shaking eyes, drop dead gorgeous--
I digress. He's the man we all know and love.
This. Does not look like Thomas. Not really. Not compared to some of the art interpretations I've seen. It just doesn't fit. Something doesn't add up.
Even if you cover the lower part of his face it just doesn't look like him. The eyes just don't really add up.
And I thought I had other picture with a different angle, but apparently I didn't save it. But if you rewatch this scene they committed a crime on this man's hairline. God awful lies.
Idk the artists handles so I won't add some of the art I have saved of him maskless, but if you just look it up you'll see what I mean.
This just doesn't look like Tommy!!!!
Please, can you do a part two of what @Thewolffairytaler asked for about Thomas's eyes? Like the victim just starts to plead with Thomas about not hurting her, she's not desperately pleading, but she's at a point where she is on her knees as she is gently holding his left hand and is just pleading. Maybe even kissing his knuckles as her eyes tears up a bit. She's not scared of Thomas exactly, but she is scared of the idea that he will hurt her. Please? PLEASE? đ„ș
Yes of course! | Pt.1

"There you go...attaboy, Tommy. Finish the job like you always do."Â
Hoyt knew his way around manipulation, around temptation. He knew the familyâs hunger would worsen with even the smallest decrease in food. Theyâd been hungry before, - starving, famished; They would never go hungry again.Â
Tommy..his name was Tommy - No, Thomas. You could use that, right? Say a few sweet words, kiss and grab at him. Just gotta get the chainsaw out of his hands first.
âWell, what the hell are you waiting for? Crank it up! Show that bitch what happens when you fuck around and stay long enough to find out.â
Hoyt was getting impatient. What the hell was he (Thomas) thinking? Putting the family in such danger all for a piece of tail - Selfish. At Least when he (Hoyt) did it, they were tied down..nothing could get in the way of the family.Â
Thomas was conflicted - On one hand, he had this gorgeous girl cooing in his ears about his eyes. It felt so good to be wanted. But did she really want him? Did she mean it? She couldn't've..
He revved the chainsaw a final time, the loud buzzing of the blade crowding the room.Â
âHell yeah, Tommy. Show âer how itâs done.â Hoyt chuckled as he turned his heel to walk back up the stairs - He had..âbusinessâ to attend to; Which in your case, heightened your chances of survival.Â
âWait wait wait wait wait - No, no, no, no, no, please..we could work this out, couldnât we? Please?âÂ
Thomas shook his head - Sheâs not worth it, Thomas - He thought to himself. Finish the job..
With drying tears painting your cheeks, you shakily held your hands out and shook your head lightly. âTommy, please.â
That rewired something in him. The way you said it - God had sent a succubus, hadn't he? A final challenge to prove his strength. Mama had always told him sex before marriage was a sin. Women who opened their legs for any man on the street, even if it was to save their lives, had failed their family, their future husbands, God, and most importantly, themselves. âThey canât be saved,â sheâd tell him. She never used the word âwhoreâ but his uncles did. He knew thatâs what mama meant. She would've called you one if she saw what was going on down here..One less whore - he thought.Â
âTommy, Iâm so sorry..â You whined as you knelt down. âWe can work this out - You and me. I wonât hurt you, I ainât gonna run away.â You didnât even convince yourself that it was working. What were you doing? Helplessly pleading with a backwoods serial killer? It wasnât gonna workâŠ
Surprisingly, it did. Luckily for you, you ended up in the basement of a family with a very..protective yet starved and desperate guard dog. The chainsaw had stopped, though hesitantly. Thomas was looking at you with glazed-over eyes. He was in another word - most likely his own head, trying to rationalize his decision to spare you. You took the opportunity to carefully coax his hand into yours as you peppered kisses on his bruised and bloodied knuckles. That mustâve snapped him out of it - He jerked a bit as he looked down. He didnât mind this angle: You looking up at him with teary eyes and shaky breath - He could get used to this.Â
Get your head in the game, Thomas! - He could hear Hoytâs figurative voice screaming at him from the back of his mind. It didnât matter - Heâd keep you. Safely. Whether in the backroom of the basement or in the shed, anywhere that his uncles couldnât get to you. Heâd sneak you food, bring you water in dirtied glass, bring in some of his old clothes for you to wear, and a pillow hidden somewhere in the guest room. Heâd keep you safe - Just as long as you kept spoiling him with sweet words and soft kisses.

As always, if you have more requests, questions, or I misinterpreted an ask, please let me know!
am I geeking twin
Low-key father Thomas Hewitt is fireâŒïžđ
Can you do father Thomas Hewitt headcanons with a 10 year old son that cries easily?
Thank you âŒïžđ - Yes I can
Very similar to my previous father!Thomas post in the sense that Monty would be constantly complaining about Thomas' son crying.
"Will you cut out that racket?" calm down Monty..
--
Thomas is well aware of his kid's needs; Meaning he alters everything he can to fit them. That includes keeping his kid away from the carnage that ensues both in and out of the basement.
He also, believe it or not, spends less time in the basement to care for his son. If his son is frightened or overwhelmed (causing him to cry), Tommy will stop was he's doing to help.
Luda Mae helps as well - Tries to distract the kid best she can (when she's not at work.) She's really sweet to her grand baby, lots of praise and coddling (kinda like the scene in 2006 when she cleans up Bailey)
--
Although Thomas didn't grow up in a...healthy household, he tries his best for his boy.
When he went up to check on his son before bed, he found him crying, tucked into the corner where his bed lay. Thomas sighed, brushing off his apron and sitting beside his son. He held out his arm, letting his son take it if he pleased (which he did).
After communicating through the issue, whatever it may be, Thomas always ends the night by hugging his son tightly and tucking him into bed. Depending on the time of year, he'll leave the window open, too.
In the morning, he'll ask momma to add extra of whatever they're having for breakfast onto his son's plate - Make sure to start the morning right đ«
Hi Tae, I was wondering if you could tell us how Thomas would react if a victim (reader) who's cornored or meets him for the first time stare into his eyes for a moment, taking all the details in, to then tell him that he has beautiful eyes. It dosenât matter if he looks at then angrily or with a dark gaze. They still thinks they are beautiful. Like a gem or the sky on a sunny day.
I figured you could answer this easily since you know the Hewitt family so well and it's pretty much an easy question.
oooo I love this!!
I think he'd be very confused and taken back which would cause him to pause for a bit - He's in his own head a lot. This gives the victim more time to escape but as soon as you move he's right back in the game. (Or..with a little "family motivation")
__
"You're beautiful." You don't know why you said it - Why you felt it. All you knew was that it's true: He was beautiful, at least to you.
The cannibal paused. Beautiful? Such words were never used to describe him, not even once. The most praise he'd gotten was on his work ethic, never on his appearance.
His expression tightened, what was left of his nose wrinkled, his eyes squinted as his eyebrows closed in. It doesn't make sense - You're lying. You were just trying to catch him off guard, break down his walls; Escape.
Don't be tempted, son. These women are something else.
That's what Charlie had told him one time - Back in what were supposed to be his high school years. There were always pretty girls with infectious smiles and loud laughs that made him turn his head. He liked the way their hair was done, how creative they could be in accessorizing. He liked their lips and the way they framed their smiles. The fantasy would break as soon as they saw him. He'd be staring at them, distracted from his work at the slaughterhouse or at the community center his momma worked at. The girls would stiffen - They were disgusted with him. Afraid.
Why're you staring? - Can I help you?
He didn't have the tools to answer those questions. His answer wouldn't make anything better; In fact, it'd make it worse. They weren't asking out of genuine curiosity, they wanted to deter him. His freakish nature and abnormal behavior. Momma taught him not to stare, but, why could they stare? No one told them not to, he was a macabre one, that's for sure.
In a matter of seconds, his head replayed the compliment you gave to him. Beautiful. He was beautiful.
It felt good. Odd, peculiar, abnormal, but so damn good.
Say it again. Just one more time; Please?
Of course, he couldn't say that. He didn't say that. And he didn't want to.
Thomas restarted the chainsaw, revving it loud enough to drown out his irrational thinking. You didn't mean it. You couldn't have.
You jolted back, frightened, but yet, still determined.
"Beautiful, beautiful eyes." You whispered shakily.
He threw the chainsaw to the ground, frustrated and confused. If you didn't mean it, stop fucking saying it!
"What's taking so damn long down there!" A voice called out from upstairs. "Tommy, stop stallin' and cut her up already!"
Hoyt stomped down the stairs, his eyes meeting the corner you were trapped in. "Oh, Christ, Thomas. Get a grip on yourself."
"What? Did she butter you up all nice and sweet, huh?" Hoyt called out condescendingly. He didn't view Thomas as "ugly" necessarily, but Hoyt knew a thing or two about survival. Never let your guard down. Ever.
Tommy looked between the two of you, frustrated, confused, overwhelmed. He wasn't teary-eyed but he was damn close. Still, his anger shadowed his confusion as he picked up the chainsaw once more, starting it up as the two of you locked eyes.
"There you go...attaboy, Tommy. Finish the job like you always do."
____
Sorry this is kinda short. I was in the mood for a mini oneshot lol
As always, if you have more requests, questions, or I misinterpreted an ask, please let me know!
Thomas butchering the shit out of someone who hit on you because he's insecure and extremely afraid of you leaving him :)
You end up with a poorly written note with the shittiest hand writing ever that reads:
"I'm sorry I got upset. I love you."
But it's more like
"sory i was upset i lov you" spelling errors and all đ«
Just know, dinner was less of a steak and more of a...pulled "pork" from how excessive Thomas' chopping was. Luda Mae wasn't too thrilled, but she's not one to waste, is she?
"Tommy took good care of 'em, God bless the next poor soul that takes his chances, hm?" - Hoyt, probably
@lovinqbella I do, in fact, know what you mean xđ«
if I misinterpreted this prompt please let me know! I'll make another post đ
The community center was never too crowded - Only filled with cyclists and the occasional "roadtrip gone wrong" group. In had been a few months since your wedding, a casual southern Christian affair with a nice Hewitt twist; Mama had given you her previous wedding ring, and it fit you quite nicely. A silver, dainty wedding band with an almost non-existent jewel sculpted in the middle. You wore it religiously - A symbol of your commitment and pride in your relationship with Thomas.
You heard the bell attached to the doorframe ring, lifting your head to attend to the visitor - Another cyclist...great.
You quietly sighed and put on your best "costumer-service" act.
"You need anything?"
The man turned, his features dirtied from sweat, dust, and grime.
"Nothing you can help me with, hun."
He grabbed a beer off one of the shelves, placing it on the counter and leaned on his elbows. "W'you mind grabbing me one of those Marlboro Reds, sweetheart?" - "Thank you, honey."
"Ma'am."
You both turned, Luda Mae had been smoking in the corner.
"You refer to her as 'Ma'am', understood?"
"Yes..yes ma'am." He said sheepishly. He turned back to you, scoffing slightly as he payed for his things.
Leaning closer, he said "Y'know, if you ever need a ride somewhere, or..something extra that I'm sure you can't find out here, give me a call; Huh, hun?" He quickly jotted down his number on his receipt and slid it back to you.
You watched him leave as you turned to Mama, she had the same look on her face as she did the last time someone came in here. It's safe to say, you'd see him again, but not in the way he'd hoped.
Charlie pulled his ass over y'all and Thomas had fun chopping his ass up, yurd
Reversed possession. Forgot about Thomas being possessive or have some yandere tendencies. What if a fem presenting Y/n was in love with Thomas. And would despise any non family women being close to him or try to manipulate him, hence why they're tend to get rid of the issue without permission. And if Hoyt or mama tried to tell him that Y/n is dangerous and not good for him, she'd convince him otherwise.
oooo this is fun!!đ«
I'm so sorry this took a while to finish up!!
Thomas would have the biggest trust issues EVER - Who does he trust: The person he's in love with, or his family? His family...right?
"I'm telling ya, she's good for nothin', Tommy."
"That woman'll eat you alive - and not in the good way."
"I don't like her. Not one bit, Thomas."
"I've been with a lot of chics in my life, Tommy-boy (lie). I'm telling ya, she ain't no good."
Hoyt is genuinely concerned for Thomas. He's seen how you look at the family, how you coo and 'seduce' Thomas into trusting you. He's seen just how manipulative people can be, he's a manipulative guy himself - And he knows just how desperate Thomas can get in terms of love.
Luda Mae/Mama is SO worried - And especially annoyed. She doesn't like you - "not one bit." She tries to convince Thomas that you're good for nothing, you're a "snake", artificial, whatever she can to get Thomas away from you. She's even pretended to have "run out of food" to convince Thomas "she may be the only 'food' we've got for a while.."
Of course, Thomas refused with a sharp shake of his head..though he was hesitant on both sides
__
Or..does he choose you?
"Tommy, they're lying. Lying about everything."
"I need you, don't you need me?"
"No one's gonna love you like I can, baby. I can promise you that."
*Referring to a previous "conversation" with Charlie* "Don't you know how manipulative that sounds? They're trying to manipulate you, Tommy - Keep us apart. You don't want that, do you?"
One simple "I love you" paired with pleading eyes..He's done for. Thomas can't really resist that..at least not anymore.
As soon as Thomas puts his foot down with you, the act begins to falter.
I just keep imagining that one scene in Pearl when the projectionist tries to leave and Pearl goes batshit crazy:
"Did I do something wrong?" - "Why'd you just go cold on me?" - "What did I do wrong?"
"I don't understand, I thought you liked me.." - "Why did you change?" - "You're not leaving me here."
__
Tommy is...well, he's Tommy. In the end, he's extremely family-oriented. And unfortunately for you..Charlie Hoyt's got him wrapped around his trigger finger.
Thomas loves you, he stays with you, but Hoyt makes sure to keep you in line. AKA, he never tolerates disrespect to the family. You're always being starred-down at dinner {by most of the family}. He gives you more chores, takes less precaution when dealing with "guests" around you {he'll happily get violent and gory around you, this is the life you signed up for, is it not?}, and still continues to talk with Thomas about your..behavior.
Mama still doesn't like you - That'll likely never change if you continue with such behaviors. But, you're family..as reluctant as she is to admit it.
Honestly - You fit right in with the family: Possessive, violent?, manipulative; You're the whole Hewitt package! It'll just give them time to realize that :)
This isn't a request, but more of a cannon fact that people don't know about Hoyt (Charlie), and it's the fact that he cares about continuing on the legacy. The family linuage, so to say, this is backed up because of the comics. Hoyt does want love from a woman and a potential wife. The problem was that he didn't ever "find" the one. But that didn't stop him from assaulting women that he found to be beautiful or worth keeping alive for a bit longer, like he was chasing the high, consuming alcohol one after anathor so to say.
When it comes to Thomas, he didn't actually mind if if Thomas ever got a woman. He wanted Thomas to be the one to continue the linuage, but if he couldn't, then he would step up himself.
So it does iritate me a bit that fanfic authors tend to miss characterise him as this man who despises all outsiders. Yes, he is a cautious man when it comes to keeping the female victims, but he wouldn't immediately treat them harshly if Thomas ever found an interest in one of them.
ooo I really appreciate this !!!
Yes, he's cautious and kind of an ass for his own entertainment, but he's not against outsiders. Selective? Most likely - But that's just how he comes off to me.
I really hope I haven't mischaracterized him đ
Could you do a scenario where Thomasâs child walks in on him in the middle of his âwork â or smth like that?
oooo I love this request!!
_____
He'd probably feel so bad - Freeze mid-chop {kinda like he did in the 2006 remake} and try to steady his breathing {his eyes are so wide rn}
Would drop everything and walk over to his child to gently guide them back upstairs, pointing to the basement and shaking his head to gently gesture 'no./don't follow me down here.'
If they happen to be crying, his reaction time is even faster - Quickly wiping his hands off with whatever dirty towel he has around and running to kneel down to comfort his poor baby. Would again, gently guide them upstairs {or even carry them}, making sure to take a break and stay with them until they felt better.
Luda Mae has to tell them to "stay away from the basement, scary things go on down there, child."
"It's not for us to see, child. Your daddy's working hard down there, best leave him be."
Let's just say..you won't have any more problems with the basement after what his child just saw.
"Maybe someday you'll be working 'side him, how 'bout that?" From Hoyt - He thinks he's soooo funny

hello, I was wondering if you could do a Thomas Hewitt x reader that has two kids. Both being under 10. Like how feels about it and the whole family. You can do wild and do whatever you want for this. I love your writing so much! I hope you have a good day and make sure to take care of yourself. Thank you if you do this.
Hi!!! I'm so sorry this took a while to get to - I've been busy with life things đ Enjoy Tommy + the family with his two precious angels
Also ty ty!!!!
I feel like Hoyt call Tommy's kids his "little buddies"...no idea why lmao
_____
The day he saw his children was the day Thomas was 'reborn.' He had a purpose outside of killing, outside of his uncle. He had you. He had your children. His own little *or not so little* family - Two mini-me's, what could go wrong?
A lot.
Thomas can get a bit overwhelmed when his uncles are yelling at him, or you, to "shut those kids up" - It reminds him of his childhood...not fun times.
Thomas worries quite a bit. About what, you ask? EverythingâŠ
What if theyâre ostracized? What if theyâll suffer just as he does? What if he isnât a good father? A good husband? Are they going to be okay? Safe? Are you going to be okay?
If he could, he'd be praising his babies to hell and back - He loves them so so much. If they happen to have the same skin condition as he does, or the same cleft-lip, you'll find him crying just thinking about their future. He really doesn't want them to hurt like he did. Like he does. He'll pray to the Lord above to keep them safe.
Tommy has chubby babies - Doesn't matter what size his partner is, the babies are FAT !! Tall kids, too. Chunky mini-me's with curly dark hair and freckles - Maybe a cleft lip??
He loves his babies very much - a very VERY protective and slightly overbearing dad {he just wants whatâs best}Â
Heâd probably wrestle with them if he was in the mood. He'll go easy on them, don't worry :)
Would NEVER let them in the basement. Ever. Do you know how dangerous it is down there? Not to mention how traumatizing it could beâŠ
Always always ALWAYS willing to help. He knows you're tired, and he's willing to do anything to help relieve some stress for both you and the family. He's surprisingly good with bedtimes, too. Although he can't read to his kids, he gives really good hugs before bed.
Totally would sew clothing and toys for his babies - They're a bit patchy and disheveled, but that's the aesthetic of this family, let's be real.
â
Luda Mae loves her grandkids, donât get me wrong, but lord, does that woman need a break. Two kids under the age of 10 PLUS Jedidiah? Uh-uh. Nada. No.Â
"Go outside and play with the dogs, you're messing up the kitchen!" Type shit
trust me when I say she will happily discipline them if you or Thomas donât feel like it lmao
Definitely the type to baby-talk them even when they get older, yet at the same time increase their responsibilities lol
She's always there to support them - Showering her grand babies with compliments {except Jedidiah...poor guy}
â
Jedidiah will âbabysitâ sometimes. AKA, play dates! hoorayâŠ
Heâll ask to hold them {heâs kinda hesitant though}, draw with them, draw portraits of them {though poorlyâŠheâs trying}, teach them about baseball {because I think heâs into that canonically? I donât remember}
He loves hisâŠcousins? Siblings? Depends on who you ask, I guess....?
â
Monty does not care. At all.Â
âWill someone shut that baby up?â *he mutters under his breathÂ
âWill you cut out that racket?!âÂ
Would probably keep his dog away from the kids..for good reason {That thing bites}
Pouty faces and eye rolls all the time lol. Donât be surprised if the kids end up with his attitude at timesÂ
âUgly little thingsâŠâ
He has love for themâŠ.somewhere. Deep downâŠ..very deep down.
â
Hoyt, as we saw in TCM 2003, doesnât mind kids - let alone babies. At least not when heâs âworking.â
He'll coo at them - "You look just like your daddy, don'tcha? Huh?" - He's the type of uncle who's always asking/assuring that "he's the favorite"....okay buddy
Would make minor jokes about Thomas "finally getting laid" and "getting a family of his own." In all actuality Hoyt Charlie is proud of him. Jealous to bits, but proud - and happy.
_____
Yay okay! We've reached the end. Sorry if it's a bit short, my brain is still trying to get back into Tumblr-writing lol
what do you think reader x Thomas's wedding would actually be like if it would be a small Christian wedding with the family or smth like that and also if you could do a small oneshot or smth if maybe reader being hit on working in the gas station and if luda mae is there ifyk what I mean ty x
<3
omg I love thisssssss !! I'm gonna write + post the oneshot on another post, don't worry! I'll tag you in it <3
_____
I think the wedding planning would really be in Luda Mae's hands - She's always been one to take charge. Her idea of the 'ideal wedding' is much different than Thomas' idea of the 'ideal wedding'. Luda wants a traditional, in-church wedding with classic, elegant attire {that can be found in a small town}. Thomas, on the other hand, prefers to draw as little attention as possible to both himself and the family. He wouldn't care if it was just the two of you exchanging rings and calling it a day - As long as you two were together {and blessed by The Lord - cue Thomas' religious upbringing and generational trauma}.
If the town was still alive at the time of your matrimony, it would most likely be held in a church {as required requested by Luda Mae}, with all the family {and potentially friends of the family}. I do, however, think it would be difficult to obtain considering the majority of the town find the Hewitts to be...a bit odd.
If the town has already died down, the wedding would be held on the {Hewitt} property - With Charlie Hoyt as the 'priest' {because of course he'd be}.
I also have this little headcanon-ish thing that Jedidiah {if you keep him in the fantasy} would be the ring-bearer {and he'd be very pleased to do so!}
Hoyt would definitely crack some jokes in-between lines, with multiple side-eyes and sighs from Luda Mae {Monty would try to hide his chuckling, though, he's not very good at it}.
-
Thomas would pick you a {disheveled} bouquet of wildflowers - Mostly bluebonnets and white yarrows. Overall, he loves you. He doesn't matter if the wedding was simple and secluded {he'd prefer it that way} - As long as the two of you are happy and blessed by the Lord.
{Thomas has very deep religious/generational trauma. He's been taught to believe that an unholy/non-traditional marriage isn't going to last.}
I hope this was coherent enough! If you need any further clarification, or another ask, just comment or message me!đ«
*Explosion* Hooray!
*Robloxifies your Hewitts*

Hey! Iâve been really into your work on here these last few days. As someone who also loves the 2003 TCM remake, I have a question Iâm dying to have answered, but havenât seen anybody mention it.
So in the movie, when our group of victims are looking through the collection of abandoned cars, they find a jar. Inside is a, suspiciously yellow liquid, and a picture of the hitchhiking girl from the opening.
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what this jar is ever since I saw the movie for the first time. The best Iâve been able to come up with is that it is some sort of southern spiritualism spell jar. I think I saw one similar to this called a sweetening jar, where you are aiming to get a person to like you more.
But Iâm interested in hearing what you have to say about this. Do you think one of the Hewitts were trying to get the hitchhiker to warm up to them? Or was this just some loose end the film makers forgot to tie up and I am reading too much into it?
Hi!! - I'm so glad you like my posts! I actually never considered what this was - But I'm curious!
There's a few possibilities, including the sweetening jar.
For the color of the water, I assume this is a result of dirt. The Hewitts {as seen in many scenes throughout both movies} don't have access to clean water supply - This may be because of rust, or lack of care on their end.
I've found a type of decoration that's almost exactly like what's shown in the 2003 remake: Laminated picture{s} placed in a mason jar, with the optional addition of water. It's used as a way to display pictures, usually vintage ones. The jar {especially when filled with water} gives this 'snow globe' or 'bubble' effect. It makes the picture seem bigger - as well as adding a '3D' effect to it.
These are just my thoughts, but I think the spell jar is just as plausible!
Do you think Thomas would kill someone who hurt you by his own instinct or if you ask him?
I think both, honestly. Thomas is a family-oriented, protective hunk of a man - You saw the way he cut up that biker boy, Thomas was pissed.
I think he'd tend to you first {even if it was mental pain} and then finish off the perpetrator. If the perpetrator was Hoyt or Monty...I don't think he'd hurt them. Stare them down, sure, but not hurt or tell them off. I love Thomas but he seems so submissive to his family that I doubt he'd defy them like that.
But overall, absolutely he'd kill someone for you :)
broke this chapter into two parts BECAUSE it has a bit of a tone switch :)
pt.1 is definitely a 'transition' if you will, so it's much shorter
pt.2 is the real stuff

You knew you had to leave this town. There really was nothing left for you - or anyone - here. Most of the sheriffâs department left, just as most of the residents - Leaving infrastructure abandoned and empty. You agreed to stay a little longer, for Thomasâ sake. In return, youâd been invited to dinner - Which laid in front of you. You, amongst the family, sat at the lace-draped table, the only consistent sound being the scraping of utensils against the aged porcelain. Luda Mae, sitting at the left side of the table, broke the minor silence:
âWeâre so glad you could join us tonight, dear. It means a lot that youâre staying, âspecially to Thomas.âÂ
Thomas blushed a bit in response, he never liked being placed in vulnerable positions. You attempted to smile, âItâs the least I could do.â You really tried to sound convincing, but from Charlieâs reaction, you werenât the best at pretending..
âSo, you planning on staying for long?âÂ
âAs long as I can.âÂ
âYouâre not a good liar, honey.âÂ
You pushed the contents of your broth around, not making eye contact with anyone. You could feel Charlieâs complacent grin growing the more he stared at you.Â
âThereâs no reason in lying, hun. You donât want to stay here.âÂ
It was true, you didnât. Everything had dried up - And you, you were parched. Continuing to distract yourself with dinner, you felt yourself get more and more aggravated as the interrogation resumed. Thomas was unusually stiff, staring down at his food just as you were. He really didnât want you to leave - Heâd never admit it, but he loved you; And hearing about you leaving just made that repressed feeling rouse.Â
âCharlie, leave the poor child alone. I will not have you riling each other up at this table.âÂ
Charlie rolled his eyes, mumbling a small âyes mama..â before returning to his food.
Just avoid him - heâs not worth it; You thought to yourself. Charlie really did like riling people up, though, he really was just afraid of being left out. You two never really got along - He was all âtough love.â An intimidating kind of guy who was always judging, even if he didnât mean it. You were sure there was love in his heart, maybe not for you, but most definitely for his family. You saw the way he looked at his mama - Full of respect with hints of defiance.Â
Dinner continued in inconsistent silence - Luda Mae would start up conversations only for them to end just as fast. You tried producing thoughtful responses, putting in more effort than the dispassionate grunts coming from the rest of the table. Monty never really enjoyed âmeaninglessâ conversation, his main focus was to get dinner over with so he could return to the living room - Wasting another day with his legs rotting into the cushion of the reclining chair.Â
---
When dinner concluded, the table cleared, and the family members resigned to their usual evening routines, you thanked the Hewitts and packed the little things you brought with you - Parting ways as you left for the doorway. Just before you reached the final step of the porch, the front screen doors swung open.
âDear,â Luda Mae, of course, stopped you. You turned around, a small âhm?â fell from your lips.Â
âWe really do appreciate your company. Youâre always welcome to stay - Even if itâs just for the night.âÂ
Just for the night.

Watching TCM The Beginning again and the fact that at 25:55 Hoyt is just cruising in his fuckass sheriff-mobile is crazy
You cannot tell me he just happened to stumble upon them - No, bro was actively patrolling his abandoned - might I add, town. Who does this nerd think he is đ
I can't take this movie seriously Hoyt is such a nerd - With his broken car siren n shit
Have my extremely shitty, low quality, blurry Hewitt "sketches" as an apology for being inactive :')
Hoyt and Tommy are very hard to draw đ
Thomas and Hoyt minor body study
He leaves you for a man
