Your gateway to endless inspiration
Well well well, if it isn't my two favorite men. Peter Falk and Kermit.
Whatcha doing here Peter?
My wife has been showing me the older Muppet movies on Disney+ because I had never seen them before, aside from Christmas Carol and Treasure Island. Definitely seen those. Now, after having seen both The Muppet Movie (1979) and The Great Muppet Caper, I am convinced the main reason these were made was so Jim Henson could flex his practical effect skills. Like, in both movies, there are scenes with Muppets riding bicycles. Like, HOW?! In the first movie it’s just Kermit riding a bike, but in The Great Muppet Caper they have the whole cast riding bikes! How are they doing this?!? I assume with strings or something but it looks so seemless!! These movies were made in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s! IS IT MAGIC? WAS JIM HENSON A WIZARD!?! (The answer is yes, Jim Henson was absolutely a wizard.) Anyway, these movies were both very delightful. The jokes were funny and I can’t stress enough how insane the practical effects were.
