Your gateway to endless inspiration
“My friends, my people, my flock; I have had a vision - a vast fiery orb, floating in an endless void, and there, so small, so fragile, us! But falling, falling, falling into the flames!”
“The first was Snow, who managed to crawl to safety, badly injured, though he lost much of herself in the process.”

If I ever get an autism diagnosis I blame it on Jonny Sims because my TMA and Mechanisms obsession isn't funny anymore
my dealer: got some straight gas. this strain is called "the black box" youll be deep inside your mind
Me: yeah fuck you and fuck your train. i dont feel shit.
1 hour later: dude I swear the walls are beginning to tear. No not the walls of the train those of our false and hollow reality.
my buddy Lyfrassir, pacing: The recordings are clear now. I can see everything.
Me, walking to school:
My headphones: **Red Signal by The Mechanisms**
Me, still walking, unfazed: Oh well, why not? It's 7:33 in the morning, a good time for an Eldritch Invocation. :D
With Nastya not having a death in DTTM... And the whole mechanisms running on belief.... She never stopped believing she was immortal.
Nastya finds Brian's body first, and she's certain he's just glitching, just stuck in some sort or statis.
She doesn't think he's dead, because the more logical explanation here is that somehow he ended up in space, and its been awhile. Clearly it's a mix between the trauma he already has from space and the harsh environment, and if she fixes him, he'll wake up.
That's how it's always worked.
And that's how it does.
He wakes up gasping and wheezing, gears spinning to life as his heart continues to best beat beat
He explains everything to her, but he's alive, his gears are spinning, and he figures he was never really dead.
The new truth is they can come close to dying, but never cross that line.
They can brush against death, but never sink into it.
Someone will always wake them up.
The first time it was the doctor for many of them, and with their shared belief that they arnt actually dead, the second they are torn into the living by Brian and Nastya, and whoever for up before them.
The universe has more stories for them to tell, and the lull in belief was just a new arc of their tales.
They wake up Jonny last, because no one is sure they really should, a long time after the others.
Ashes brings up he only got so truely desperate to die after Nastya left, gestures at Nastya, who shrinks a bit.
Tim remarks that he forgave Jonny got being selfish and bringing him back once already, and honestly its just fucking karma.
But since they all believe themselves immortal, that they cannot die. Only come tantalizingly close (exept the ever doubtful Marius) they believe that they will wake up from this. They believe that Jonny will wake up from this.
So Jonny's hand breaks through the dirt of his grave, and a particularly pissed off Jonny D'ville drags himself from the earth. "Why the fuck did you assholes let them bury me?"
The idea that Lyfrassir joins the Mechanisms after TBI is so funny because that would mean that Jonny continues to play someone who is right there.
Lyf goes to every show, as their manager, and just awkwardly stands in the crowd while Jonny fucking d'Ville pretends to be them and absolutely nails it.
new TBI headcanon: jonny, tim, ashes and brian were sharing the cell right next door. lyfrassir chose not to speak to them because there’s nothing in the universe that would make that experience worth it
Loki: Where you headed?
Thor: Gonna kill Odin with this hammer I found, you?
Loki: Gonna kiss my wife.
Both: *give the other a thumbs up as a sick-ass guitar solo plays*
Okay we all talk about Martin being a Mechs fan but consider: Melanie’s the fan.
She adores their music. Angry lesbians, hell yeah. Goes to a bunch of their concerts. Really loves Natsya and Ashes, but has a secret glaringly obvious soft spot for Jonny D’Ville, asshole supreme. She decidedly doesn’t like a one Jonathan Sims.
Cue Georgie mentioning off-hand one night that hmm, is that a Mechs song? And Melanie is excited, because a gf who’s a fan? Double win. Then Georgie mentions that Jon was in the band in college, and Melanie just...bluescreens.
*slaps roof of train* this bad boy can fit so much cosmic horror in it
[ID: A digital drawing of Odin from The Bifrost Incident. She is an old woman with long, braided white hair, wearing a green-grey coat decorated with golden nordic patterns, standing with her back to the viewer in the corridor of a train. The train’s walls are brown with intricate golden patterns, the carpet is red, also decorated with the same pattern. All around the picture are cracks with bright, multicoloured matter flowing out of them.]
