In 'Treasures for a Treasure (pearls pale in your eyes)' how does Marco react to the ocean loving Ace even though he ate a devil fruit 'cause that's gotta hurt him seeing that.
Meeting Ace doesn't have much of an effect, honestly.
The first time Marco met a gold speckled who had eaten a Devil Fruit, and realised that they were still loved by Mariana, he was absolutely broken. He probably spent a good long while crying in a corner somewhere, because how is it fair that they can eat a fruit, willingly, and still be loved, but he is hated for having it forced on him?
But at this point in the story, Marco has been alive for many, many years. He's met countless gold blooded, some with Devil Fruits, some without, and he's grown to accept that they are loved, and he isn't. He's a Priest of the Sky, and has been for much, much longer than he was a Priest of the Sea.
He misses Mariana, sometimes, but he is loved by Caelus in a different way, and he cares deeply for her in turn.
Mostly, he just found it funny that a grandson of the Sea ate the fruit that turned him into fire.

Sometime in the summer of 2023, I asked my boyfriend at the time Devon, to draw some fan art of the goddess Mariana from Treasures for a Treasure by @thewritingdj hoping that I would be able to share it. In October of that same year, he passed away suddenly due to medical complications. It's been really hard remembering and even wanting to share his work because it was incomplete and I know he wasn't happy with the end result at the time and was redoing it. But I feel like his efforts need to be seen at the very least appreciated. I just want everyone to know that no matter what goes on in your life you will be missed. It will definitely be by your loved ones and if you don't believe that there are people that you pass by everyday who will miss your existence in your smile. Life is a very fragile thing and it's hard to see it pass. But enjoy some artwork of an amazing fanfiction that continues to make me smile.

hey! I'm a one piece fanfiction lover (it'll be pretty obvious as my fanarts and au's are posted) and I'm even a writer! I recently read the fanfic "treasures for a treasure" by TheWritingDJ on AO3 and was enchanted by one of its characters, Mariana. Recently Oda revealed that Mother Nature is a real entity in One Piece and that gave me even more inspiration! This fanart is a representation of Mother Nature as I imagine it, but it was strongly inspired by Mariana from TheWritingDJ! Hope you like it!
