The urge to rewrite the whole TTBGO and Trollstopia series through my Branches & Thorns AU is getting stronger and stronger the more I think about it. I blame that one Trollstopia rewrite on AO3 (with the bounty hunters and Poppy’s bad ideas being hated on) for this!!

I already have a basic timeline for the three movies. Why not include the series in that timeline as well? (If I do it’s gonna take me much longer to finish the AU series)

Least Favorite TTBGO Episode: The Bunker List

Lol no guys I haven’t updated any of my fics. I’m working on an edit but it’s going really slowly. To be fair, I’ve been busy this week. Not busy enough to watch TTBO and read Trolls fics tho LMAOOOO (mainly I’ve just been unmotivated)

Besides Hair-Jitsu, The Bunker List is one of my least favorite TTBGO episodes (I HATE IT (besides certain moments 😋)) because it’s just Branch giving into peer pressure and making it seem like it’s only his fault for rushing through his bunker list. Guy Diamond and Smidge are annoyed at Branch for not doing things on his bunker list which, to an extent, is valid. Branch needs to get out more, but we’re talking about Branch here. The same Branch that was gray for 20 years. It’s not going to be easy for him to go through the list when he struggles so much with ‘basic’ social cues/expectations.

It’s not like he isn’t attempting to be more social either. He’s actually made good progress since the first episode.

Branch only made the bet because Guy Diamond and Smidge had gotten on him for not wanting to do things on his list. When he first said to give him a year to do the things, they scoffed and rolled their eyes. A year isn’t that long to complete a bucket list though? Especially not for someone like Branch who, again, was gray and miserable for 20 years. Poppy made a good point with telling him to do the list at his own pace. (She is surprisingly wise for a Pop troll surrounded by excessive positivity) I just wish they focused the lesson on not letting others get into your head over how you do things instead of ?? Idk whatever the lesson for that episode was.

What annoys me most out of that entire episode is that Branch still has to be humiliated in front of his friends (and only his friends thankfully bc seriously???? In front of everyone?!?!?! That was a horrible bet). They laugh at him when he tried to apologize (again, to an extent, fair bc he was being so aggressive towards his friends cause of wanting to finish his list on time). That was bad enough except then neither Smidge nor Guy Diamond apologized for pressuring him which really rubbed me the wrong way.

They were the whole reason Branch did all that. Poppy didn’t want the bet to happen yet they hair shook with Branch to make the bet official.

Several times throughout the TTBO and Trollstopia series Branch is made fun of for not being ‘normal’ or made the bad guy/blamed for stuff he didn’t do or wasn’t completely at fault for. I hate it so bad and this episode is one of the main examples of this. Ugh.

Also, I don’t completely like that bunker list bc of those same reasons. It’s a good idea but when Branch completes a part of the list the scrapbook says “One step closer to being normal!!”

Pop trolls try not to make Branch feel bad for being extremely socially inept due to 20 years of isolation, grayness, and trauma 🙀🙀 CHALLENGE IMPOSSIBLE ‼️‼️

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

I mentioned that I was making a playlist for my Branches & Thorns au, right? Well, here they are!! Yep, they cause there’s multiple. One for each part of the series. I haven’t started the fic yet, but it’s rather large and sort of follows the timeline of the movies so I can push out content without necessarily spoiling major plot points. I’m workshopping the name but so far I’m calling it my Thorns & Branches AU for short. I’m even starting to make a playlist and daydreaming how certain scenes will go down and have named of some ocs that will be featured in part of the series 😋 (that I will maybe eventually make)

These are the sketches I made for the edit. The first two being art of my Rock troll oc called Thorn. The 2nd sketch of him is what would have happened to him if he stayed in Volcano Rock City instead of accidentally finding Pop Village.

Guys I’m like coming up with these ideas for my PopRock (??) Branch au where I have a Rock troll oc become his parent/older brother (still deciding which one tbh) and I really want to work on it but I’ve just been either sleeping or being on my phone when I could be writing 😭😭😭 The outline for all 4 fics is like 6 pages long and I didn’t even outline everything I wanted to happen

Like imagine Branch meeting another “gray” troll and finally having someone who can somewhat understand him and doesn’t force on any happiness on him AND helps him learn to stick up for himself and face his fears???? IMAGINE !!!!

Each time I got a regular commenter I was giggling and kicking my feet cause it makes me feel so amazing and talented to have people ACTUALLY enjoy my world enough to comment over and over again

I cannot possibly express how amazing it feels to get repeat commenters on a fanfic. When I was writing my first long form fanfic last spring I could have dedicated it to my first reader, that's how inspired I felt that they commented so consistently.

I remember having the slightly hysterical thought that *I* should check to see if *they* had a Kofi so that I could donate to it since they were the reason my fanfic got finished so quickly.

Me: *has my hands full working on Searching For a New Home, Feral, and Hurt Me Once series that will take me a while to finish writing AND having to deal with getting a new job and enrolling in college and other life stuff*

Also me: Wait what about *multiple animatics, drawings/comics, another 3 AUs and a rewrite of THE WHOLE TROLLS TRILOGY that will no doubt take me months to finish*

Man, I really wish I could dedicate my whole life to just writing, drawing, and animating Trolls cause I do NOT have the time to be doing all this

I’ve added the first chapter of the fic onto AO3 and am working on the second chapter!!! I still have the Spotify playlist for the fic up but it’s been changed to “Searching for a New Home” bc I changed the fic title (I’m still workshopping the name ngl).

I’m making a new Trolls fic called Different Path, Different Troll (I’m still workshopping the name).

The gist of it is:

Branch is worried about the safety of the village and sick of how he’s treated as an outcast. He doesn’t trust them to not lead a Bergen straight to Pop Village. Since his bunker won’t keep them safe permanently, he goes off to search for a new home that the bergens will not find. With an unexpected tag-along (Cooper), Branch encounters other trolls that he never knew existed. Some of these new trolls include a couple of well known bounty hunters.

Im still making the outline of the story, but I’m working on the first chapter. Hope I can get out the first chap in a week or so!! As per my last fic, I’ll have around 1,000 words per chap and my uploading schedule will be mostly random but at most I’ll have a chapter every 2-3 days.

Since I plan to add songs into my fic, I’ve created a Spotify playlist called “Different Path, Different Trolls” on my Spotify acc “Hookfang”. There you’ll see some songs that will potentially be added. It is not a definite list.
