I just love how supportive and kind the show made Stede, from the first episode he’s trying to help his crew better themselves, paying them wages (something Stede bonnet did irl by the way). He cares about their emotional well being he is such a golden retriever of a man-
And then- when Ed comes into his life and Stede is instantly on board to teach him the ways of a gentleman and fucks up a whole ship of people who put him down, and the whole exchange where he’s just like let’s forget the whole murder thing, oh you killed ur dad? Bitch probably had it coming xoxo Stede
Even when he goes home and he’s slow to realise how good the life Mary has built for herself is, he goes on to Stan her paintings and her work and he even fangirls over her new boyfriend
I bet he sees Blackbeard going through his villain period next season and he’s just like ✨ yassssssss my love, stab them all, Lucius who? Hahaha ✨
So many in thoughts in my head but just that Ed had to kill Lucius because he represented who he was becoming, Lucius encourages his soft side, supports him through Stede leaving, is himself a creative and the most open about his sexuality on the ship, so Ed throwing him off board to commit to his Blackbeard persona is really just him shoving down all of what he could have been and had with stede and the fucking tragedy and OHMYGODITHOUGHTTHISWOULDJUSTBEAFUNNYSHOWABOUTPIRATESHELP

they could have made Mary Read and Anne Bonny the sweet,mature wives offering guidance in Ed and Stedes trying times but no they made them dysfunctional, kinky, crazy bad examples of a healthy relationship and i think thats very slay of them

I’m currently watching ep 1115 of one piece. All i have to say is fuck Aokiji and Blackbeard. I hate hate hate hate blackbeard sm it’s all his fault ace and whitebeard are dead and everytime i remember that i get teary. And fuck Aokiji for being buddy buddy with them. Because like wtf (keep in mind i haven’t read the manga so there may be a story but as of rn idk) and seeing blackbeard and aokiji happy is making my blood boil i hate him sm i need him to die

Another thing just in my head.
Both started of with immensely loving families, sacrificing everything for their well being and both did not spend enough time with them.
Both found rather rough handled replacement families involving another 2 boys.
And an companion in animal appearance, which stayed with them later when having a crew.
They both had a long drawn out fight with a warlord, neither of them could finish the fight with a clear winner between them.
Both suffered a devastating loss against a Yonko. Bonus points for both loosing against Blackbeard but not dying from it.
While both are stable taking the punishment while being imprisoned, here we are splitting off.
Because only one story ended with making the sacrifice to save Luffys life...?
And we love him for it 🫶🏻
