Philippine gods & goddesses.

Introducing you Philippine mythology! I didn't include them all though! Maybe I'll continue it in future blogs?

Bathala

— Bathala reigns supreme in the heavens, though his beginnings were not necessarily so set.

— The head honcho of the gods in the Tagalog myths.

— The god is known to have married a mortal woman, and from her sprang three of his powerful offspring: Apolaki (God of War and Guardian of the Sun), Mayari (Goddess of the Moon), and Tala (Goddess of the Stars).

Mayari and Apolaki

— Apolaki and Mayari both fought over the Earth’s dominion.

— The sun god wanted to be the sole ruler, but the goddess of the moon wanted an equal share.

— This resulted in a ferocious battle. Apolaki took one of his sister's eyes, but regretted it, and conceded.

— He then ruled the earth with Mayari, only they would rule at different times.

— In the day, it was Apolaki’s moment, and at night, Mayari shone in the sky (though her luminescence is dimmer, due to the loss of one eye).

Hanan

— According to some myths, Hanan is the daughter of Bathala. The goddess has Mayari and Tala as her sisters.

— Hanan is the goddess of morning, dawn, child birth, and new beginnings.

— It is said that she is the deity most important when people enter a new age or a new phase in their life.

Tala

— Daughter of Bathala.

— Ruler of the stars.

The Marias

— Maria Cacao, Maria Makiling, and Maria Sinukuan are mountain goddesses (or fairies) with their own separate jurisdictions.

— The most famous of the three, Maria Makiling, is the guardian of Mount Makiling, located in Laguna.

— Maria Cacao watches over Mount Lantoy in Cebu, and it is said that her domain houses the Cacao plants, a useful ingredient in most Filipino chocolate delicacies.

— Lastly, Maria Sinukuan holds dominion over Mount Arayat in Pampanga. There, she is said to bring forth bountiful harvests from the mountain’s fruit trees.

Dian Masalanta

— Diyan Masalanta is the tagalog goddess of love, conception, and childbirth, and the protector of lovers.

Demigods cursed by the enemies of their godly parents

Imagine demigods whose weaknesses depend on their godly parent's enemies. Not like "I hate their kids" but in a "their powers affect me" kind of way.

Zeus' kids with fertility problems, who always happen to see dangerous sea animals at the beach, who are terribly scared of the dark.

Poseidon's kids with asthma, who can only learn how to use one weapon, who have worse dyslexia than other demigods.

Demeter's kids scared of heights, who have alergic reactions to certain metals used for jewellery.

Ares' kids who can't use any technological device, who can't bring themselves to be near a horse/pegasus (let alone ride one).

Athena's kids who never learn how to swim properly, who can't come up with cruel strategies even when their lives depend on it, whose weapons break way too easily.

Apollo's kids who avoid at all costs eating meat, who are scared of thunder, who can't learn a second language.

Hephestus' kids with allergic reactions to feathers and cosmetics, who faint at the sight of blood, who can't read a map even when they know the area.

Aphrodite's kids who break every invention they use, who are allergic to pollen, whose battle plans go wrong.

Hermes' kids who sunburn fast, whose wealth doesn't last long, whose plants dry no matter how much they water them.

Dionisus' kids whose spouses die young.

Hades' kids with celiac disease, who get seasick even in calm lakes, who are unable to get into planes.

There should be a blog post where we get to know what nectar tastes like to each of the demigod, you know like a short interview thing.

For Some Reason I Really Like The Idea Of Virgil From Sanders Sides And Nico Di Angelo From The Percy

For some reason I really like the idea of Virgil from Sanders Sides and Nico Di Angelo from the Percy Jackson series as best friends.

I feel that if they met they would become best friends. Like, hanging out, applying eyeliner, talking about cute guys, being emo, listening to music...

Reblog if you agree.

As for the fanfic where Thalia is sent to the school of mortals - very interesting!! Tell everything! You can ask for it somewhere

So the synopsis goes something like this: After the war and so many dead or dying, the camp needs to find more demigods, to keep them protected and out of the way of Kronos’s followers who survived the war. So Artemis enlists some of her hunters to go into the mortal world- more specifically their schools- and find those demigods.

It would take place in Manhattan/Washington Heights, and Thalia has to blend in with the other students. What she doesn’t count for is people being interested in her past, and she needs to protect her identity and her past- which is quickly catching up to her.

Thalia soon falls for a girl, and she deals with the emotions of both liking someone, and the wrath she will face if Artemis finds out.

She makes new friends and makes amends with old ones. But the real question is, who should she trust? When the war has just finished, there are those who seek to relight the match and make the fire burn even brighter.

It is Thalia’s job to stop that from happening.
