i love fanfiction for multiple reasons, one being the fact that it's fiction, I've seen many people go “that reader is nothing like me!” THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT!
if I wanted a recap of my boring life I’d write a diary, but I read fanfiction because I want to pretend to be someone else, I can be royalty, a CEO, be part of the mafia! be silly, witty, shy, inexperienced, a genius, and all thanks to fanfics.
This is just an opinion but I believe out of all the Amulet characters, Trellis is the most well-written.
Why do I believe this? Well because out of all of the characters Trellis feels the most like a real person. When I mean by that is Trellis is, in my opinion, the most thought out character in the series.
He has a personality, he’s relevant to the story, and most importantly, he has GOALS. He wants to help his people and take the thrown and crown away from the elf king who is leading his people in a direction that will lead to their downfall. He helps the rebellion because he WANTS TO. Emily has stated multiple times, that she helps because she feel like she has to which would’ve been an interesting plot point but Kazu Kibuishi abandoned the thought of having an idea like that. Trellis also wants to kind out what happened to his memories that are connected to the elf king which is also RELEVANT TO THE PLOT BECAUSE IT MIGHT REVEAL HOW TO DEFEST HIM.
The more I think about it the more I feel more upset about how Kazu Kibuishi dealt with Emily. Emily felt more like a real character in the first two books. In those books she had a goal. Save her mom. It’s what drove her to accept the amulet and join Leon. It’s what influenced her decisions and made us root for her. In the later books Emily has none of that which is upsetting because she had so much potential.
Therians, Otherkin, & Alterhumans: I am BEGGING you to credit artists when you use their work for memes, moodboards, stimboards, icons, banners etc. (anything)
It is the minimum we should be doing when I know most of us aren’t even checking to see if the artists are even ok with using their works in this way.
I promise you it doesn’t actually take that long to find the creator most of the time, and if you cant find it- maybe someone else can or maybe don’t use it. “Couldnt find the creator” “credit to artist” etc, is NOT viable

The thing that is so weird is that when you point out Mike's behaviour towards El, people tend to say:

But later go and say:
-I don't ship byler because Mike treats Will that way, blaj blah blah
