wilson is so repressed he probably insists he can't be gay because he didn't like when an ex wife tried pegging him once but he doesn't mention that he moaned house's name during and then she beat him over the head with the strap-on
in queer reading wilson's heteronormative tendencies in season 1 episode 18 "babies and bathwater":
i really love this scene for two reasons, the first being that it exposes the deeper, underlying devotion between house and wilson, and secondly - which is entirely up to interpretation and a tad bit of delusional theorizing - is wilson's interesting reaction.
yes, he's reasonably upset, but why take a jab at his relationship with house by calling it a "stupid, screwed-up friendship"?
house didn't ASK him to defend him against vogler. furthermore, wilson was given the OPTION to quit, which he took; he was only fired from the board, but not from his job. at the time, house's speech really had no relevance to wilson, as it moreso affected house's ducklings. so why the wording?
let's consider the things wilson lists out before: 1) having kids, 2) marriage, and 3) having a successful/stable job. the three expectations of living a, dare i say, heteronormative lifestyle.
i think the subsequent criticism of his relationship with house is a response to losing the only aspect of the aforementioned lifestyle wilson had, which is a stable occupation.
wilson's frustration is a raw emotional reaction, and thus you can interpret his actions as a result of projecting his frustrated confusion through blame. almost like he's wondering why he himself would place his loyalty and devotion to house over something "normal."
sort of a delusional and stretch of a take but i like thinking about this scene in this way sometimes.
Drooling for House and Wilson like a madmanš¤¤
these men broke into my house and started performing their intricate rituals. advice????
hey umm remember when vogler forced wilson to resign and he was talking to house like "i got no kids my marriage sucks i only have 2 things that work for me: this job and this stupid screwed up friendship" just wondering why did wilson's voice fully crack when he said friendship . why did that happen. why could he barely say ,, wh
Season 2, episode 8: The Mistake
Said being gay would "explain a lot" including why he's always with Wilson.
Verdict: FRUITY
they get sooo fucking hissy about each other
all anyone knows about wilson's wife is that she's mean to him and doesn't help with household chores, but he says he stays with her because she's the love of his life. all anyone knows about house's wife is that she's naggy and bossy, but he says he stays with her because she's a demon in the sack. it takes years for anyone to realize they're married to each other
sure sex is good but the real sex is house demonstratively shoving chips into his face while wilson smiles and they're both comfy on the couch in soft romantic lighting
wilson is a wife guy for sure but like not any of the ones he married
i just started watching house mdā like literally maybe 12 episodes inā but i the undeniable dynamic between wilson and house is palpable. like half the dynamic is āoh yeah this is my buddy. i hate everyone except this guy who is forced to tolerate me.ā and the other half presents as āoh yeah thats my friend. id do anything for him even if hes a criminal in most cases. id leave my wife for himā or something along those lines. its an odd codependency ive stumbled upon, though i cant complain.
can we talk about how wilsonās office is right next to houseās?
isnāt he supposed to be the head of oncology? babygirl, why arenāt you, idk, stationed in the oncology department? why do you just happen to have an office adjoined to your boybestfriendās? why do your two offices have a connected balcony? why are you the only people in the whole hospital with a setup like that?? who put you guys together? cuddy? thatās like a teacher sitting students with crushes on each other at the same table. why does she let you stay there when sheās seen the situations it produces? does she ship it too? we know she does enjoy the insanity, to an extent. does the entire hospital have a betting pool on when house and wilson will finally get their shit together? probably.
these two dumbasses are so the main characters, its blatantly obvious that the entire world is built around them. i love it.
Obsessed with the way Vicodin is such a huge piece of symbolism in Houseās relationships. Like. Cuddy left him because he relapsed. She told him that he took the Vicodin to avoid pain, because pain means you care and he wasnāt willing to do that. Weāve seen throughout the show how Houseās emotional pain manifests as physical, increasing whenever he feels guilt or anger or sadness or fear. Keep in mind this was while Cuddy was worried she might have cancer.
And then Wilson ACTUALLY gets cancer, and House treats him at his apartment, and he feeds him Vicodin. Because Wilson is in pain, and heās always the one who cares so much, and itās Houseās turn to take that away. And House doesnāt take any Vicodin. He feels the pain so Wilsonās is lessened, because he CARES. They make a point to show that he is willing to care, willing to take on that burden for him.
House will do anything to stop the pain, unless it makes Wilson suffer.
I was thrown off by "House, I believe you're a romantic" but omg did it get better
his faaaaceeeee omfg his expression is killing me sir why do you look like that i can't-
AND the way his face falls when wilson says "what makes you think i haven't put the moves on her?" ????
(yes yes i know they mean it in the way that house likes cameron but i choose to ignore that. In my mind it's because he's jealous that wilson flirts with someone else)

āIn our long and colourful friendship spanning nearly two decades, have you ever thought about kissing me?ā House and Wilson have a normal conversation that leads to its natural conclusion.

No context this scene sounds like they're telling House to get his bisexuality under control
