When @isthatbloodonhisshirt posted My Name is Derek Hale and I saw the tag 'time loop', I cannot tell you how excited I was - I love time loop stories - and as soon as I started reading chapter two i thought 'man this is a cool visual, I bet it'd work pretty well as a comic'. And hey. Who's got two hands and a can-do attitude towards comic projects? This fella.

So here we go! I haven't done a long-form comic in more than a decade and I'm still figuring out how to draw the boys but doing a comic is always an ongoing learning process (: (part of that learning process is doing covers which uhhhhhhh is going to be at the end of the chapter for Reasons)

(Also Stiles' alarm choice is totally on me, bless Ella for giving the go ahead lol)

I can't express how much I LOVE the way you draw hands! They are just absolutely amazing and so SO expressive. Do you have any advice on how to improve? (other than the obvious, "practice", lol)

Hands are my #1 favorite thing to draw and i love using them and touching to enhance the feeling of a drawing so that makes me so happy to hear!! lol not the dreaded 'just practice' - I tried to put together an impromptu example for you: I’ve always loved drawing hands and include them in my art a lot but I can say for certain that there was a huge boost in my abilities when i started tracing from real life images to better understand the way fingers curve and deform around objects, especially - I’ll take a reference picture or two, trace, figure out which looks better and then try to re-draw it:

You want to draw a character holding a bottle? Alright, find an object that’s about the size you want, get your camera (a shitty res phone camera will do in my case), and get to it!

I like to do some variations because sometimes things just look *goofy* when you have simpler lines depicting them, so here’s 4 different ones:

Alright, next step - rough lines over to see how it translates to 2d:

#1 looks goofy so that one's out - I like #2 the best but the grip'll translate better if I close the grip of the two first fingers, so I'll do that (or retake the picture) and then re-do it on my own while eyeballing the reference i just made (I usually just draw the lines for hands directly but if i'm having trouble i break it down into rough shapes first) :

Think of it kind of like building a neat little reference library in your own brain - next time I want to draw a hand holding a bottle I can think back on this and what I picked up :)

Post cannon SQQ thinking that either the demon court has just gotten used to him or have become more tolerant towards humans (either by exposure or LBQ's blood)

In reality, after seeing Consort Shen avoid many different kidnapping (or really any wife plot) attempts that he is the same type of human that Mobei Jun's human is. Both "humans" have ridiculous amounts of knowledge that they shouldn't have. They already clocked it from the northern advisor years ago. They talk strongly around each other and have form of platonic flirting (insulting each other).

They have seen/interacted with other humans, and they don't act like that. So, while they have gotten a bit more tolerant about humans, they don't think of either as humans.

So, pretty much, somehow, someway, after the events of cannon (minus the year that Xie Lian waited) Hualian kick the bucket, don't ask me to explain why. Its ideally after they win the fight against Jun Wu.

Obviously thing one (Feng Xin) and Thing two (Mu Qing) are distraught but years go by and the pain dulls. Oddly enough people do pray to hualian statues, usually asking for love, despite it being known that they are gone. Well, no big deal, mortals are weird.

Anyway, one day Mu Qing gets a few prayers about some ghost in a small town. Usually Feng Xin would be with him but the man likes to keep himself busy during this time (the anniversary). By the time he gets there some local cultivator had already worked things out. Peacefully too, hoe odd. So Mu Qing decides to investigate, perhaps someone destined to ascend.

He some how finds himself at a temple to Hualian, yay... though, there is the cultivator he was looking for. It's a young woman (probably a good thing Feng Xin didn't go) in peach colored robes. She didn't look anything special, her tanned skin indicated that she probably helped out in the fields. She has kind eyes.

What was she doing at that temple though? Praying for love? Maybe not praying but love was definitely a cause. Their was another young woman (oh God, another one) who tended to the shrine. She was probably about a year younger then the cultivator. She wore dark pink robes, almost red and her hair was on a lopsided ponytail.

Anyone could tell by the way they looked at each other... and... wait, Mu Qing recognized the cultivator's smile and the foxish smirk from the other

Mu Qing thought that gods did reincarnate. That's what everyone knew... but...

Something something Shen Yuan would have been accused/thought to be some kind of seer if he was born into the pidw instead of just placed in a adult body. You can't tell me he wouldn't just say stuff that he shouldn't know.

Adding the fact that Shen Yuan was a rich kid plus the fact that he thinks that running a peak, teaching disciples and going on missions is just lazing around then I wouldn't be surprised if he did some find of sport

Ok, here me out, a lot of rich kids tend to do a whole bunch of extra circulars (trust me, I went to a school filled with trust fund kids) and Shen Yuan considers himself lazy despite very clearly doing a lot. So, he probably got that notion because in his first life he had a jammed pack schedule and uses that as a comparison.

So with this in mind he probably has a bunch of skills, one of those being some form of sport.

Anyway, flash forward to some time post cannon and a wife plot happens. In the original PIDW it was a excuse for a sport episode (or character(s) in this case) with future wives and current wives to wear short clothes and run around. It's probably written because it a fan favorite trope in media and will mist likely bring in a bigger audience (SY can be heard cursing airplane for unoriginalty, contradictions and historical inaccuracy). We'll just say that some kingdom/demon royal family decided instead of violence (because who could ever beat Bingge in a fight?) to use a sports tournament as a way to decide who get to rule.

Well, when this happens in svsss Shen Qingqiu ends up roped into this (ahh, the curse to be a love interest) and just absolutely destroys everyone at off brand tennis (and/or other rich people sports). Luo Binghe would also be destroying people at literally any of the games but he's too busy trying to not lose it over SQQ's (previously stated) short clothing, pulled tightly up hair and skill

Dc x Dp animatic idea

God, I read this fanfic-- real cute, real sweet, real angsty-- where Damian and Danny were siblings but instead of being twins, they were older-younger siblings. (Damian was the older, Danny was the younger.) And Damian was a possessive older brother 'cause his brother was (and is) dead and all that and Damian is just a naturally possessive person. And today I was listening to the song Body by Mother Mother and I just... had the greatest idea for an animatic.

First, for the song, trigger warning for some descriptions of different parts of the body getting 'gotten rid of'. (Ex: tear my teeth, tear through my cheeks. Take the nose, go and dispose, dispose, dispose, dispose.)

Danny has a breakdown with that song playing, basically. But, really, what I'm thinking is that when it reaches the climax of the song all the words the GIW have ever said to him swim around him, haunting him. "Ghosts don't feel pain." "Ghosts aren't people." "It'll grow back." Things like that. And it's Danny basically dehumanizing himself in order to feel safe? Secure? Something like that.

Surgical tools and weapons reach for him like they are ghosts in their own right, they cling to him, to his skin, to his heart and they claw at his body. Tearing him apart.

('Take my eyes, take them aside. Take my face and desecrate. Arms and legs, get in the way.')
