Your gateway to endless inspiration
No. We did. We do. You need to understand that we deserve good art. We deserve media that is both incredible at teaching the broad public very complicated philosophical theory, as well as be funny as shit. We don’t just deserve it, we need it.
Many people quit learning anything new after High School or College, if they attend. They have been traumatized by the education system so severely that they have a panic attack if they need to learn a new program for a job. People refuse to learn things because they seem hard, or because it sounds like something someone Smart would know.
Learning doesn’t need to be scary. Shows like this can do more to undo some of that fear of learning. Shows like this prove that people ARE interested in philosophy! People want to be good to each other! People can follow dense lecture and lore, as long as you contextualize it with something they’re already familiar with.
We can change things. Please, believe me. It doesn’t need to be like this.
Tldr; the Good Place is Sesame Street for adults, we DO deserve it, and we need to stop expecting television that has the same quality as Adult CocoMelon.
we really didn't deserve The Good Place. a bizarrely high-budget sitcom telling a longform, highly conceptual story that you need to have been watching from episode one, which was allowed to play out at its own pace and wrap things up when it intended to, and it didn't even lose steam over its four seasons. that's practically proof of the existence of a loving god
I want to feel and be loved but because of the media I’ve been conditioned to think teenage romance is only meant to last if it’s secretive, most notably gay romance.
What if we introduced an aro-ace character in the worst way possible. Like, one of the supporting characters (like Gus from the owl house) has a crush on another character, band they're oblivious for like a season/ book and a half, and it's the cutest thing that people obsess about, and when they finally confess their feelings, the other character is like "oh" in bad way, band say "umm... I'm aro-ace". And everybody is happy about inclusion, but also really sad about their favourite ship being sunk.
Does anyone remember how fun Syfy used to be back then?
Like, on the weekends they would sometimes do marathons on specific types of movies (i.e. werewolf, vampire, loch ness, etc.)
And then you remember OH SHIT! DINOTOPIA HAPPENED!
I don't know if it was on Syfy, let alone what was going on on the show. But my kid brain was just geekin over the thought of dinosaurs and civilization just existing together!
Oh wow. It's been a while since I did something like this. Thanks for including me.

How to make the princess bride a TV series.
Title:
"The Fantastic Adventures of The Dread Pirates Roberts"
It would run for three seasons.
S1 follows the story of the "Dread Pirate Roberts" before Wesley. It would start with how he came to be dpr. It would jump across about thirty years of pirating, romance, and adventure ending with finding Wesley.
S2 follows the time that Wesley spent as dpr. It would show how he came to be dpr, how was his first day as dpr, a few of the hijinks that he got up to as dpr, and most importantly, how he became the man we see in "The Princess Bride". We end on a lingering shot showing him at the start of his journey to save his true love, fade to black and then the words "to see what happens next go watch the princess bride" show up before the credits roll.
S3 (the last season) would follow Inigo Montoya for his time as the dpr. He and Fezzik start off their adventure in a bit of a slump. You see Inigo just spent his whole life in pursuit of revenge and now has nothing left to live for. The first half of the first episode is a bit sad. Inigo is drunk for most of it and Fezzik is just trying to keep his friend from accidentally throwing himself off the ship. About halfway through the episode a ship from a far away kingdom shows up and attacks our drunken dpr kidnapping Fezzik and the crew and marooning Inigo on a small island jack sparrow style. Inigo has a new revenge spree to go on and a new purpose in life (to take down the people who did this). Along the way Inigo will: realize the kingdom who did this is looking to go all imperial and take over the whole territory, end up helping to form a resistance force against the invading kingdom, discover that the resistance leader that is helping him coordinate everything is actually quite attractive, team up with Wesley again (for double dpr action), turn dpr from a notorious boogyman into a folk hero, and discover the kind of man he really wants to be. Once the empire is fully pushed from the realm and everyone is safe Inigo decides to retire as dpr with no successor, allowing the name to end things off as a hero of the people instead of terror of the seas. And everyone lived happily ever after.
The end.
Keep political intrigue to a minimum. This the princess bride universe, the focus should be on fighting, romance, and a narration style kind of like how I met your mother but with a good story book feel (think Ella enchanted).
Episodes are 22 minutes long and seasons are 26 episodes a piece. The finally will be 50 minutes long and there will be a full 22 minute episode devoted to epilogue.
Thank you I will accept any questions now.
