このところ「発見から受賞までの期間」が短いことが増えています。

今現在の社会的インパクトが大切になってきているようですね。社会の注目を集めて、ますます研究活動が活発になることを祈ります。

さて、注目の新型コロナウイルスワクチンで使われている「mRNAワクチン」の立て役者、カタリン・カリコ氏とドリュー・ワイズマン教授

　：安全性を格段に高める技術（2005年に論文発表）

◆社会的インパクト

◆今後の可能性

　：利便性が高く、がん、神経障害、マラリアなどへの様々な医療応用が可能

今後大きな問題が出なければ、歴史に残る「医療革命」 間違えなし。

コロナワクチンは、原則誰も強制されない世界初の人体実験。どう考えるかも本人の自由。

ただ、どんなに考えても調べても「完全な答え」は存在しないのだから、他人にどうこう言うものではないですね。

私の場合は、科学者として、大人として、「子ども達の将来」、「地球の未来」の為に人体実験に参加しました！

2回とも腕が多少痛かったのみで、その他の異常はありませんでした。

ちなみに、ワクチン接種前に、ビタミンC,　ビタミンD,　亜鉛を含む食品、サプリで補うと副反応が出にくいと言われています。基本バランスの良い食事をしていれば問題ないんでしょうけど。あと、取りすぎずに推奨量を摂取しないとですね。

食事、運動、睡眠はコロナ感染の対策にもなるし、そもそも健康維持に必須なので、コロナ後も意識を持続したいですね。

亡き友の誕生日にラボ完成

たくさんの方のご支援のお陰で、ひとまずラボづくり完了です！いつも応援、有難うございます。この日に向けて、ただひたすらに走ってきました。ワケがわからなくなりそうな半年でした。

さて、本日5月7日は、亡き友Gの誕生日です。もしあいつが居たら、相談したいこと愚痴りたいことが沢山ありました。福岡でも岡山でもつくばでもイギリスで別府でも、困った時はいつでも彼の自画像に問い、彼の魂に聞いています。

この上なく爽やかで心地良く、ハンサムなスポーツマン。何と言っても、とにかく誠実で優しくて色んな意味で面白い。どんな時もこの男の周りはとても賑やかでした。

あんなに誰からでも好かれる人間は、どうやっても 他に思い浮かばない、、ダントツのヒーローです。

大学院進学後、深夜に白衣のまま、突如私の部屋に来ては、「実験、全然うまいこといかへん。なんでやねん、、」と両肘を脚について嘆いてました。Gは私のことを羨んでたけど、私は真剣に研究に取り組み将来を考える彼の姿に憧れていました。彼の素晴らしい人間性は嫉妬する気にも、争う気にもならないくらい飛び抜けていましたし。

「研究者になるべきか」、「果たして研究者としてやっていけるのか」お互いに悩み相談して何度も夜を更かしました。私が「いつか教師になりたい」というと「研究せーへんのか」、「そやけど、好きにやったらえーんちゃう」と言い、彼自身は研究者への道を着々と固めていました。

そんな直後の6月17日、大大大大大悲劇。今でも信じられない、突然のお別れ。

才能も特技もない私。Gみたいに人間性に優れているわけでもない。それでも「これはもう研究者になるしかない！お前の分まで生きるしかない！！

とっても、決意を固めるのに2年かかりました。そして、研究者になるべく福岡を出ました。

学会で山中伸弥先生の「輝く目」と「静かな後ろ姿」を見る度に、Gの姿が重なりました。なんか全体の雰囲気が良く似てるんですよね。つい最近、彼のご家族も同じように感じてきたと知り、思いを新たにしています。

彼が残した論文がいつも机の中にあります。研究で困難にぶちあたったとき、いつも励まされました。心が病みそうな時は、Gが残したCDを聴きます。スティーヴィー・ワンダーの曲を聴くと、Gが小刻みに首を左右に振る姿が目に浮かび、心が回復します。

それでもダメな時は、防虫剤の匂いがプンプンするGの帽子を被って閉じこもります。その帽子が似合わない自分の姿を鏡で見ると笑えます。

Gの部屋にあった絵。なんでこの絵を買ったのかご家族に聞いても分からず。考え込んだあげくに、バカバカしくなって気が晴れたこともありました。そんな時は、いつも自画像のGがうっすらと笑を浮かべています。

どんなにどんなにもがいても超えられないGの巨大な壁。でも、だからこそ毎日全力で生きていける。

Gさー、そりゃもう、生きていることが本当に嫌になるくらい辛いことが何度もあったよ。でも、いつもお前が言いたいことは分かる気がした。何も言わずに、どこにでもついて来てさ。けど、いつもお前は黙って温かく見守ってくれる。退職後、この激動の半年もそうだった。===================================

これからも全力で生きるよ。湯けむりに乗ってお前のところに行く時には、溜まった分言わせてもらうからら！下手な博多弁、ちゃんと直しといて。

「そないにゆーたりーな」と、額に汗を流す彼が目の前にいるようです。

何より人を大切にするGは、研究とともに、きっと教育も全力でやっていたに違いない。多くの後継者を育てていたに違いない。いや、勝手に人がついてきて、どんどん育っていく。お前のとてつもなく深い懐、誠実な志、ほんの一部だけでも伝えていくから。

自分一人じゃない、お前のことを知る全員が、お前の話を聞いた全員が同じ想いで生きてるよ。だから、ずっとずっと変わらず輝き続けてくれ、みんなを守ってくれ。いつもすまんな、ありがとう。

G、誕生日おめでとう！

New lab completed on his birthday

My new lab has been provisionally completed.

Today is the birthday of my dear friend, who passed away out of the blue, at the age of 23, twenty seven years ago. He wanted to a scientist and he was always supportive of me and everyone.

Your stuffs have been encouraging me all the time, and they will be, to which I really appreciate.

感動の再会と金婚式

肺炎、脳梗塞、大腿骨骨折。40度の熱の中での手術。日に日に声が細くなる母の声。父も指定難病で闘病生活中。

母の頑張りと医療スタッフの方々のお陰でこの度退院になりました。半年ぶりに二人揃った笑顔が見れて、本当に幸せです。大きな試練を乗り越えての金婚式。両親を心より尊敬します。応援有難うございました。

Best golden wedding anniversary

My mom was finally discharged from a hospital. She was very weak at some point, we were really worried. Thanks to her big eoffort

and a series of medical supports, my parents met each other for the first time in a half year.

We are very happy that this day has finally come and they cerebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. We respect them a lot. Aoso, I'd like to deeply thank you for your constant supports.

Mi mamá finalmente fue dada de alta del hospital. Ella estuvo muy débil en algún momento, estábamos muy preocupados. Gracias a su gran esfuerzo y una serie de apoyos médicos, mis padres se conocieron por primera vez en medio año.

Estamos muy contentos de que finalmente haya llegado este día y hayan celebrado su 50 aniversario de bodas. Los respetamos mucho. Además, me gustaría agradecerles profundamente su constante apoyo.
