But Isha did have something special for Jinx, it was Jinx's inner child, who was just hurt by seeing Vi with the enforcer uniform. Up until that moment Jinx already had come in terms that Vi was not in her side, that she would not put her over Caitlyn (who is an enforcer). But to have to see her as her enemy, and no only that, but the enemy who killed their parents, hurts her, so she does a tantrum very similar to the one Powder did when Vi, Mylo and Claggor left her behind to save Vander in Season 1 Act 1.

Isha has parralels with Powder, mostly in the fact that Isha is a "little devil" and a wildcard that is weak, sly and eager to join the older people around her in what their adventures and try to make herself useful when in reality she is the most vulnerable spot of the gang.

Jinx doesn't have a reason to hurt Isha, so at first she does nothing. She never plans anything with Isha in all act one, Isha just seems to follow her around and Sevika and Jinx just don't bother with her as she didn't get on the way. Before the fight with Vi and Caitlyn none of the women seem to even address her. She is just there, her fault if she gets hurt.

Because they, unlike Silco who saw himself in the little girl who was betrayed and abandoned by her older sister, didn't feel responsible for Isha until act 2, where she was already part of the gang with a time skip that had the girls bond over just being girls. Because after Isha saved her and decided already she would stay by Jinx's side, holding tight into her just like Powder (I'm convinced she was Jinx in that moment, but still) did with Silco, Jinx didn't have a reason to send her away as she planned to waste away anyway. She was already partially suicidal, no purpose in her life, but ended havibg fun with what resulted in her own Powder, who unlike with Silco, she doesn't view as herself, bit it's her inner child, who she had a chance to fix and heal. Silco got attatched to her daughter in a blink of an eye because he saw himself on her, we can infer Jinx got attatched to Isha slowly as a result of time together given by a "why not".

And Jinx was never a monster like Silco was, every kid SHE orphaned (not Silco) was an enemie's children. Caitlyn (who was probably THE person Vi was refering to to be able to say Jinx orphaned children, as Vi didn't really care about all the enforces Jinx killed so she had to go for the hypothetic children to condem her instead), Marcus' daughter, and any child of any enforcer and councilor that died because of her doing. She orphans Piltover's children, and the child she gassed's as of Piltover as well, and he wasn't targeted in particular, he just had the luck to be there when Jinx and Sevika set the paint bombs (event that I remind you, the Undercity children were cheering on). Isha is from the Undercity, so she gets a benefit of a doubt of being left to be as long as she doesn't get in the way children of Piltover would never, because they are from and with the enemy.

Jinx is not meant to be a morally good character, but she is not Silco's worst. Isha was different BECAUSE Jinx got attatched to her and reminded her of Powder, but besides that, as a Zaunite kid that didn't get in the way, she was already different to any kid Jinx hurt directly and indirectly.

Isha from the start rubbed me the wrong way but I ignored it.

I think they reason why I ignored it was that many times before s2 came out it did occur to me that Jinx would likely bond the easiest with kids. That since she’s so childish in a lot of ways it would be easier for her to interact and find common ground with a kid, it would be the first time in her life that the familial power dynamic would be reversed, it’d be interesting to see her in an irresponsible but fun big sis role. And initially it seems that that’s what they were doing with Isha so I wanted to give her a chance.

In retrospect I think the reason why it felt off to me from the start is that what they did in ep 2, which introduces Isha and reintroduces us to Jinx, was they gave us a metaphorical scene portraying Jinx’s grief, then we see her walking to music for a minute and immediately after that Isha falls into her lap. We saw nothing of Isha whatsoever before that moment and we never learn anything about her past, she was never a character. The story’s visuals create parallels between this meeting and Silco and Powder's meeting, and like many parallels in s2 it falls flat cos the parallel just highlights how those two are not the same at all.

In s1a1 we spend 3 eps with Silco and Powder individually, with it never occurring to us and the story never hinting at these characters ever coming together. After all this time of establishing what each character has going for them, what makes them tick, and with some visual hints sprinkled in ep 3 we get to their first meeting and even tho you’d never anticipate it the characters immediately click and you GET IT. The characters’ pains and emotions and connections and goals that we’ve explored for 3 eps slot with each other perfectly. What happened when Isha met Jinx for the first time? she fell into her lap. ok.

Like at this point in their lives Silco and Jinx were monsters, and with Silco you need to give me a good reason why this kid was special and he didn’t stab her, and in the same way you need to explain what’s so special about Isha that differentiates her from all the other kids that Jinx apparently orphaned or that one piltover kid (and more) that she gassed.

Thinking about how the arcane artists and designers made sure isha had big eyes to make us see her more innocent and childlike (and make her death hurt even more.) They do this with the other children in the main cast, but with Isha they make sure to push it further, her eyes were bigger, full of wonder joy and innocence, just to make her have a stronger impact as a character

They do this same thing to powder to an extent, they don’t push it as far with her character but they do it, this plays in to how jinx and powder’s character models change, one of the main differences is her eyes because eyes are so key when it comes to character design and shape language and how we perceive each character

Uploading some old art over these next few days. I think I did this one the day before part 3 of Arcane released. People raving about the art in Arcane back in 2021 is actually what got me into League of Legends lore, even tho I didn’t watch the show till 2024. I owe a fair bit to it-100k+ words of fanfic I’ve written for starters.

Haven’t a clue which AU this is in, but it exists, because I adore these characters and think they should be allowed to get along sometimes.

Okay I really like writing! Who woulda known!

Anyway, I’m sick and I was bored so I’ll continue to write about Sevika, Jinx, and Isha.

“Isha—! I swear- you better eat it, it’s good for you!” You can’t hold the breathy laugh and grin as you chase Isha down the hall of your home. Her giggles and fast footsteps down the hall makes your heart warm but also very incredibly annoyed.

Suddenly just as Isha was rounding the corner, Sevika stepped in her way with a hand on her hip and a scowling look on her face. Isha looked up at Sevika as if she was a giant before trying to run away, only for Sevika to scoop her up into her grasp. With a hearty laugh, Sevika walked over to you, trying to catch your breath as you lean against the wall a little with the bowl of vegetables that have yet to be eaten.

Isha squealed and yelled as she wiggled in Sevika’s grasp that was until she caught a glimpse of Jinx behind Sevika making a ‘shhh’ sound with her finger over her lips. You walk over to her and Isha with such a mother look. Sevika had to admit, the look on your face was a sight to see… so irritated and well, sexy.

“Were you looking for this monkey- gahh!!” Sevika was interrupted by Jinx jumping on her back with a cackle, trying to set Isha free of eating vegetables. Isha squealed again and laughed as Jinx was practically piggybacking on Sevika. You gasp and laughed at the scene in front of you. You quickly set down the bowl and tried to pull Jinx off of your girlfriend. Screaming and yelling with a mix of laughter ensued and finally, Jinx fell to the ground with you holding her and Sevika fell to the ground with Isha in her arms. Everyone was laughing and giggling, trying to calm down.

“Alright alright, can we please go back to eating our dinner rather than fighting over it?” You ask mostly looking at giggling Isha. She shook her head profusely before Sevika squeezed her in her arms, making the little girl squeal again.

“C’mon… don’t make her eat that stuff.” Jinx whined as she stood up. You stood up with her and placed your hands on your hips.

“Well excuse me, but that ‘stuff’ is what is going to give her energy and strength!” You tell Jinx as you watch her mock you. Once she’s done mocking you she sees the knowing look on your face and she shuts her mouth and turned to walk back to the living room. Sevika watched you handle the situation and smirked, the gap in her teeth appearing. She stands up, still holding Isha.

“Needed her?” Sevika chuckles with a soft grin as she sets Isha down before handing her to you. You chuckle with a soft smile and then sigh once Isha is back in your grasp.

“Now, little miss,” you began as you looked down at Isha. She began to plead with her big golden eyes and the cutest pout on earth, but you know that look all too well. “You need to finish your dinner or there is no desert for you—“

“No!!” Isha whined as she stomped a little in protest. You cross your arms and look down at her with an eyebrow raised.

“Then I suggest you get your butt at the table.” You whisper to her before she began to scamper back to where she originally sat at the table. The screech of the chair on the wooden floor, indicating that she made it.

You sighed deeply with a small smile of disbelief as you looked up at Sevika. She stood there with the biggest grin and blown out eyes.

“What?” You questioned her with a grin slowly appearing on your face as well. She shook her head and shrugged a little.

“Nothing, just… grateful of my little girlfriend handling all this like a champ.” Sevika teased as she stepped closer to you and placed a hand on your waist and drew you in closer. She slowly kissed your cheek and then down to your neck, causing you to go weak for only a moment.

“Sev…” you whisper to as her feel her nibble softly at your skin…

SKKRRRECH!!

“Desert!!!” You and Sevika hear Isha whine as she pushes the chair back and forth on the wooden floor. You laughed softly before pulling away from Sevika as she groaned.

“Sorry Sev, duty calls.” You chuckled and patted her chest before walking past her and to the dining room table. Sevika watched you as you walked away and she bit her lip, watching you.

Oh yeah, she can get used to this.

“Shh! Keep it down! I swear to god…”

“Ooh! What does this do-?” CLATTER!!!

“Oi! What did I just say?!-“

“And what brings you home so late, my dear?” The light of a warm lamp flicks on and Sevika, Jinx and Isha flinch at it. There you were, sitting there in your robe and pajamas on the couch, arms crossed. It was a shock to see not only your girlfriend walk through the door after 2 weeks being gone but now… Jinx and some mysterious child?

“Shit- what are you doing here-?” Sevika grumbles as she walks further into the house while ushering Jinx, who was carrying Isha, inside.

“The real question is what were you not doing here? Where the fuck have you been?” You snap back at her before looking at the gold eyes of the young child in the room. “Pardon my language.” You mumbled as I stood from the couch and walked over to Jinx.

“Hi y/n…” Jinx greeted, her voice soft but it cracked a little. They all much better tired, especially Sevika if she’s just planning on crashing at home with these two. You nod towards the adorable child that Jinx is holding with a questioning look. “Uh- this is Isha. She’s been following me around..”

You perk up at her words, little surprised that the child would even want to be around Jinx much less, Sevika. “Well you’ve come to the right place at this point.” You look back up to Sevika and frown, still made of her absence for 2 weeks. You know she’s been busy but the on and off of leaving and not knowing when she’d come back was… tiring.

There was a long drag in the air until the microwave dinged and lingered softly before you take a deep breath.

“So, who’s hungry?” You ask with a warm smile and offering hands.

“This is so good! I’ve missed food!” You hear Jinx whine and playfully cry out about the food while shoving it into her mouth. Isha was only copying what she was seeing from Jinx and shoveled food into her mouth as well. They both sit at the two seated round table while you and Sevika have a long chat about what exactly has been happening.

“You… can’t be serious..” you grumble as you place down the take out food on the counter and rub the bridge of your nose. You knew Sevika was deep into trouble with topside but… you didn’t think she’d fight with their little special team of enforcers, directly. You lean your weight on the counter and shake your head trying to take this all in.

“I’m still pissed at you.” You mumble before you feel a sour little smile break on your face. Sevika lets out a heavy sigh and places down her food as well.

“I know it’s not… ideal. But this is what we’re working with now.” Sevika said softly as she took a step closer and slowly cupped your face. At first you wanted to angrily pull away from her touch but then you lean into it. You’ve missed it. Her large, rough hand always so warm. It made you feel safe.

You suddenly wonder about her other arm and you look down at it. It’s currently being covered by her red poncho but you can see the childish blue and pink paint covering it. You chuckle softly and you can feel Sevika laugh softly and roll her eyes at the fact her new arm was… quite something.

This tender moment was spoken through just the mind. Between you two, a million words were said at once through one look but… it was more than enough communication from both of you. Sevika slowly places her lips on the top of your head and held you close. You sigh and finally relax in her presence. She’s finally home.

Suddenly you feel a small tug on your pants and you look down to see Isha with her empty bowl and pleading big eyes. Your heart melts at the sight and assume she was asking for more food. Poor girl must be starving still. Sevika backs up from you without a word, picks up her bowl and makes her way to the table. Probably to talk to Jinx for a bit.

“You want more?” You ask softly as you take the empty bowl with gentle hands. Isha nods immediately and so much that she almost looks like a bobble head. You laugh and pat her head before turning to the take out food packaging and poured some more into her bowl. You placed it into the microwave and started it. Isha tried to jump up on the counter to peer up into the microwave, she probably never has seen one. You chuckle and shake your head at the energetic child before scooping her up easily and holding her firmly on your hip. You turn on the light inside the microwave and you just watched Isha’s eyes glimmer as she followed the plate spinning around… and around…

Sevika was secretly watching the interaction and felt something in her slowly bloom. Seeing you like that… so warm and inviting for kids. It’s not something she really touch upon in recent days but… it’s not impossible to think about now. She felt Jinx nudge her and smirk.

“So… you think about marrying her?” Jinx cracked up at her with a grin and Sevika swears that she almost choked.

“W-what?” She sputters in disbelief but she heard the words from Jinx’s mouth. She’s not stupid and neither is Jinx. Sure Sevika thought about it. A nice spring day… far away from Zaun, you in that crisp white dress that complimented your skin so beautifully. Soft air around with flowers and sunlight… Sevika dreams about it. But only one could dream.

“You don’t have to talk about it for me to know. I’m not blind.” Jinx said in a snarky remark but in the inside she meant well. Sevika grunted quietly in reply before looking back to you and Isha. Now that the food was heated up you were passing it back to her and gently warning her that it was still hot.

Yeah… Sevika could get used to this.

The pain is real. This was the exact thing that happened to me. I knew, but I couldn't stop the attachment.

The moment that Isha was on screen, I knew that kid was going to die. Did this knowledge stop me from getting attached? absolutely not, in fact, I would say it made it worse.

this is how s2 ended right? and then they kiss on an airship and ride away into the sunset??? right???

HARK!!! I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT the idiotic statement of “isha was a plot device who only served to prove jinx’s humanity and empathy”

People love to say that isha turned into jinx. people love to say that she had no personality of her own. BUT. Isha didn’t “turn into jinx” any more than jinx “turned into isha.” Everything from her little fake jinx tattoos to her naivete and her desperation to “help” Isha is another side to jinx’s coin. They MATCH. Isha dressing like jinx and acting like jinx isnt her “becoming” jinx, its her MATCHING with jinx. Without her, jinx as a character, at least without silco, is just a symbol. Shes a husk. With isha, they are two irreplaceable sides of a coin and fit so perfectly, that match with one another. They cannot exist without eachother. We see this with jinx and her clear self destructive tendencies in the beginning of s2. and we see it again when IMMEDIATELY after ishas death jinx LITERALLY TRIES TO KILL HERSELF. because without isha there is no jinx and the show literally proves that to us time and time again. and it didnt “have” to be isha. jinx just needed something to make her whole and isha happened to stumble across at the perfect time in the perfect place.

all this to say, Isha didn’t slowly take parts of jinx’s personality. Jinx GAVE isha parts of herself. she gave her the drive and the will and the desperation to help people and save zaun and be a symbol. And in turn Isha gave Jinx her innocence and her love back. They are soul bound in almost the same way as jayce and viktor. which is why when she dies, Jinx quite literally is the not the same. she gets rid of her BRAIDS for christs sake, the one biggest symbol of who she is. she dyes her hair, the bright blue hair that everyone associated with jinx the symbol. she gets rid of everything that once connected her to jinx because jinx is no more. without isha there is no jinx. not in the way there once was.

Soooo I’ve been thinking of a fanfic (maybe with some art?) combing Arcane characters and ATLA world setting.

Ekko is the avatar (boy savior)

Jinx is a non bender, feels like she is second to Vi, wants to prove herself. Great inventor, especially of weapons 

Vi is earth, stubborn and strong. So competes in the underground earth bending fights to earn money. Her signature is the earth gauntlets of course.

Cait is a non bender, uses weapons (wealthy member of northern water tribe so we can have water and oil don’t mix lol) 

Jayce is a water bender, crafter alongside Viktor. Him and Cait are like siblings, so I’m also going to age Jayce and Viktor down a bit to match 

Viktor is a metal bender, trying to use spirit world energy as power (similar to kuvira’s whole thing) 

Mel is the fire princess, her mom is like Ozai villain style

Isha is a non bender (orphan of the earth kingdom) that becomes the adopted younger sibling of Jinx and Vi 

Vander is earth (earth gauntlets) 

Silco is water (his river motif) 

Sevika is a non bender, extremely powerful though 

Heimerdinger is earth (he’s ancient and is slow to change) 

I already have some basic backstory stuff planned out, just need some help writing! If you have any ideas to share please share them! Also, if someone would like to beta for the fic that would be great. (I don’t have like the story written out yet, just ideas)
