I JUST HEALED FROM BOTH FANDOM’S TERRIBLE ENDINGS! DON’T MAKE ME CRY AGAIN!

Why…why was Derek Dean’d?!?! Neither one deserved it! (I know why, terrible writers that wanted to kill the main fan ship) (that or now with everything going on, the writers were probably weren’t paid enough)

The fact being that this makes Stiles his Castiel hurts too because:

We never gotten the closure that we needed and wanted from his character

He gave the person he loves a personal item of his that he cares about because he knew the other person would take care of it (until the day they die)

He wasn’t there when the love of his life sacrificed himself, but if he was, he would have stopped him/wouldn’t have wanted to end like that

He knew that they both loved each other but never gotten the chance to give a proper confession/allow the other person to confess their feelings back

…This is why fanfics are better than canon!

was never able to tell the guy he was in love with him

A little vent piece

I'm currently writing a new part for the Tom Gets Therapy series. This time it focuses solely on Tord's perspective, and I'm facing a problem.

See, when I first wrote TGT, I had the intent of just making it a one and done fic. So Tom's mannerisms in therapy were ones I frequently showed when I was in therapy with my better therapist. The scratching into the arm chair had been something that I did, the more erratic talking and the need for a break. All of that was how I was in therapy when I had a good therapist.

So writing Tord's therapy, I want to portray how drastically different his experience is with Tom's. Tom is comfortable in the office and with his therapist. Tord is not, he hates the office and while he can appreciate his psychotherapist's more blunt nature, she can be very pushy about the topics they'll be talking about. She is the one that is forcing him to talk about his old friends and he is uncomfortable the whole way through.

Naturally I dive into my own past experiences and use them like I did for Tom's situation right? Welllll I may have gone too deep. I went through several family therapists thanks to the divorce and custody battle with my mom and dad, so bad experience on top of bad experience... these therapists were chosen by my dad and anything I told them would be told to my father and then used against me, it built up so much mistrust and resentment when I should have just been given mental health care... so needless to say, this is going to take me a while and I think I need to go cry. This sucks, I thought I was over this shit.

Just thinking about Johnny’s callsign being something so common it’s impossible to avoid and after Makarov Simon is literally incapable of washing his hands or showering without having a breakdown.

Like it gets to the point where Price and Gaz are genuinely worried about him because he’s dirty and starving himself to avoid reminders of Soap.

When they find out Johnny is alive they think the problem will be fixed but they all notice that he’s still weird about doing those things. Eventually Johnny asks Price and Gaz about it and they admit he was so distraught and depressed about his death that he couldn’t stand thinking about it and that he could barely shower because it got so bad.

Soap is devastated and he does everything he can to remind Simon that he’s there now and things are okay. It helps to an extent but a little part of Ghost died that day that not even Johnny can bring back, the grief remaining a part of him for years.

Even when they’re both retired and living in a little cottage In Scotland with their dog and two cats Simon sometimes freezes up doing the dishes or showering and Johnny just has to accept that that’s a part of Simon now like everything else he’s gone through.

But unlike many of his other traumas Johnny can at least comfort him with this. Walking up behind him at the sink and wrapping his arms around Simons sweater clad torso, gently pulling him away from the kitchen and tucking him into his chest on the couch, singing him Gaelic lullabies until he calms down and tucking him into bed.

For a lot of people it’s hard to understand how Simon could be anything other than relieved and grateful but he knows if he had found Ghost with a bullet in his head and carried him to exfil only for him to turn up alive months later in a military hospital it would change him too. And even though it breaks his heart that Simon is grieving him while he’s alive, holding on a little too tightly and digging his fingers into his skin, he understands because he’d be the same way.

But at least if it were the other way around he could avoid constant conversation about paranormal spirits. The fact that his name brought Simon so much pain is something he can never forgive himself for.

speaking of freaks, ive been thinking of trying to construct my own version of a somewhat coherent universe for them bc as far as im aware there isnt an agreed upon one

my first thoughts are thus:

freaks dont age

while the freaks are contained in their own little world with its own laws, its fairly easy for them to escape and get into a nearby version of the main tf2 universe (i kinda just give all media i consume a multiverse with multiple versions of the canon because it makes things easier for me)

the freaks come back after death, but its a lot less predictable than respawn because, simply put, it aint respawn. rather than having a machine specifically created to bring people back to life, the freaks resurrect as a natural consequence of the inscruitable workings of their bizzare universe. they could come back instantly or a hundred years after their initial death

Idk who needs to hear this but if you like this you'll like One Piece.

And I know. I know. You wouldn't think so. Maybe you think it's too long. Maybe the art style is off-putting to you. Maybe you think it's just a regular shonen. But I promise, from someone who was in your shoes a few months ago. It's good. It's really good. Infuriatingly so. In my opinion, quality-wise, it's closer to Fullmetal Alchemist than it is to My Hero Academia or Naruto.

One Piece has been running for so long there's a 99% chance any trope you can think of has been in there at some point.

Red and blue gays? You know it. Silly little guy being just as tragic as the brooding guy? It's there. "The love was there, it didn't change anything, but it mattered that it was there"? Literally an entire arc. Found family? The whole plot. Cyborgs, mermaids, zombies, skeletons? All there. Canon queer characters? Most beloved. Anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-war massage? Check, check, check.

It's all there. And it's SO good.

Start with the Live Action. Start with the manga. Start with the anime. It doesn't matter how you start, it's incredible. Some people plow through the whole manga in a week, others watch the anime over a few months. There's literally so many ways to consume it.

Tak, zaskakujące jak podsumowanie wydawanych zeszytowo 20-stronnych komiksów które wychodzą zazwyczaj między raz na miesiąc a raz na tydzień nie zawiera żadnych 200-stronnych tomów mang wydawanych raz na kwartał.

Mangi to produkt importowy i tłumaczony, komiksy są rysowane i pisane w USA. Nie będą wydawane tym samym trybem. Nawet wydawnictwa które zajmują się tłumaczeniem i publikowaniem cotygodniowych rozdziałów mang robią to albo za darmo (jak Viz, które jest jedynym miejscem gdzie mangi z tygodnia na tydzień czytam, więc reszta to tylko bardziej domysły) lub w ramach subskrypcji. Żadna z opcji nie wlicza się do sprzedaży. Więc nie ma mowy, żeby mogła przegonić tygodniowe lub miesięczne sprzedane zeszyty.

Porównywanie sprzedaży komiksów z USA (w takiej formie jak najczęściej się na to patrzy - zeszytowej) i mang to prawie jakby porównywać wszystkie czasopisma do książek.

Sprzedaż mang w USA istnieje tylko w formach tomów. Jedyne do czego można by to porównywać to sprzedaż wydań zbiorczych. Jedynym argumentem przeciwko byłaby dominująca w USA sprzedasz zeszytówek, ale... mangi mają dużo większy problem z piractwem. Prawdopodobnie każdą serię jaka jest wydawana na papierze można znaleść za darmo w internecie (nawet jeśli z gorszym tłumaczeniem)

(Pod rozwinięciem informacje, których nie jestem pewna, ale są numeryczne, więc wolę nimi się nie chwalić bez ostrzeżenia)

Also, tak przy okazji. Widziałam gdzieś wspomniane, że w USA mangi i LN to 27% rynku a komiksy amerykańskie to 9%. Nie jestem w 100% pewna tej informacji, była na wikipedii, przeczytałam cały artykuł podlinkowany jako źródło, ale był... wątpliwy.

Może o czymś zapomniałam, ale jak Morando zdobył takie duże poparcie? Koleś był na wygnaniu przez długi, długi czas (a przynajmniej to się sugeruje?), a para królewska była pokazana jako dobrzy władcy. Ta rebelia musiała się jakoś zacząć, tak? Jeśli były jakieś problemy z rządami (a zawsze są) to nie powinno się ich poruszyć? Żeby Aja wiedziała na co powinna zwrócić uwagę jako królowa?..
