Your gateway to endless inspiration
Here are mine(in no particular order):
On My Own: Although I’ve haven’t experienced romantic love yet, I adore this song! It’s well orchestrated and sung by Frances Ruffelle, her voice is beautiful.
The Wizard & I: I can relate to Elphaba’s wish to be accepted since I felt that way too. Idina Menzel’s sings amazingly and gets into character so well. I also saw this song performed live and the way it’s done on stage made me like this song more.
Satisfied: Love the blending of rapping and regular singing in this song. It works so well! Renée Elise Goldsberry nails it and made me see Angelica in a different, but good way.
Breathe: I haven’t heard the whole soundtrack yet, but “Breathe” is such a standout to me so far. Again, I relate to Nina’s fear of disappointing her family(I feel that way 24/7). Mandy Gonzalez sings very well and her high notes are delightful to hear. As an Hispanic, I really enjoyed the addition of Spanish.
I Don’t Need Your Love: Izuka Hoyle nails the vulnerability of Catherine Parr’s sad story of losing her love, and her growing confidence in herself later on. The latter part of the song makes me feel so powerful. All the women singing together by the end was so good! Their voices blended so well together.
My rankings:
Lumity:
Their relationship development was amazingly written- one of the best enemies to lovers stories. Seeing Lumity support one another and grow individually is so sweet. My favorite moment is their kiss in the S2 finale because it cemented how serious the relationship is and it was the first LGBTQ+ kiss on Disney, which is momentous in representation.
2. Huntlow:
I shipped as soon as they met each other. Willow and Hunter are such great support systems to each other- Willow helped Hunter grow as a person and Hunter sees Willow for the amazing person she is. My favorite moment with them was Hunter comforting Willow in “For the Future” because we see how much mutual care they have for each other.
3. Raeda:
Raine and Eda are so sweet together and a great team. I immediately fell in love with their dynamic and banter in Raine’s debut episode. My favorite moments are when they make music together and Raine protecting Eda from the draining spell.
4. Aladarius:
I most likely ship Aladarius because of my headcanon and the potential they have being a couple. I headcanon that Darius had a crush on Alador since their time in Hexside and was heartbroken when Alador and Odalia got married. I think Darius can bring out Alador’s confidence and self-esteem. Alador and Darius would make a really good couple.
5. Gustholomule:
I never cared for this ship until I saw fanart and rewatched scenes with them together which made me see the appeal. Their dynamic is fun so I think it can translate well to romance. I’m fine with them either being a couple or friends.
My Ranking of The Encanto Soundtrack(From Most to Least Favorite)
*The Encanto soundtrack is great and there is no song I dislike*
Here is my ranking:
1. We Don’t Talk About Bruno
I know it’s a pretty basic favorite but I don’t care. I love the music and the different singing styles. Plus, it introduced me to the movie. I heard about how popular this song and I listened to the audio and got hooked. My favorite parts are Dolores and Camilo’s, they are unique and great.
2. Surface Pressure
As someone who has anxiety issues and feels constant pressure, this song really resonated with me. The lyrics were also really, and I got sort of emotional near the end. Jessica Darrow does a great job singing this song.
3. Waiting on a Miracle
I also struggle with feeling out of place in my family so Waiting on a Miracle hit me hard in the feels. I don’t have a lot to say other than I relate to the lyrics and the desperation in Mirabel’s voice to make her family proud.
4. Colombia, Mi Encanto
This song gives me such nostalgia on the good times I had with my grandmother when I was little. And the beat is just so infectious.
5. What Else Can I Do?
Now we are at part of the list where I don’t particularly love the songs.
I don’t know why but I don’t feel much for this song even though it is well produced and the lyrics are good. Maybe it’s because I don’t like Isabella that much. She was a good character but I had trouble connecting with her troubles, especially when the way she was handling it was being mean towards Mirabel. I think I would’ve been more forgiving towards her if a reason for her anger towards Mirabel was addressed and that Isabella’s development was not so rushed.
6. The Family Madrigal
Weirdly enough, I’m not in love with the musical numbers that don’t focus on a specific character. I guess with We Don’t Talk About Bruno is like an ensemble song but the main focus was Bruno. The Family Madrigal is a great song for introducing all the characters in a fun way though I wouldn’t listen to it as much.
7. Dos Oruguitas
I’m not a Spanish speaker so it’s hard for me to connect with this song since it’s all in Spanish. Though, it fits perfectly with the corresponding scene, and I got pretty emotional the first time I saw the scene.
8. All of You
Like The Family Madrigal, I didn’t love All of You because it was an ensemble song. There were some parts are enjoyed like Bruno’s little rap and the small cute moments between the family. Mirabel finally getting a door was so sweet though.
Overall, this is a really cute ending song!
Comment your ranking and your thoughts on mine. 😁
Ranking Every Boom Studios DW Comic
I finished reading the Boom Studios comics a few days ago and I liked them. Some parts were kind of underwhelming, but it was still enjoyable. I can’t find the Joe Books series and I’m not sure if I should read them or not.
Anyways, here are my rankings and my short explanations:
6. Campaign Carnage
I liked this series but it was the most underwhelming. When I first heard of Suff-rage and her powers, I was super interested but she was underutilized and kind of bland. What should I expect, she’s a one-off villain.
My favorite part was the Darkwarrior Duck callback and Darkwing’s desperation to bring back Morgana. It’s nice to know that they care for each other that much; the show didn’t do a great job displaying that.
5/10
5. Dangerous Currency
The crossover was fun and cute, though the story was a bit shaky in some places like the explanation on how Negaduck is the slime/ink, and the ending was meh. I don’t mind that this arc is considered non-canon because there are small mistakes that irk me like Drake not knowing Fenton when he appeared in an episode, and Fenton’s mom not knowing her son isn’t Gizmoduck when she’s worn the suit in the show before. Those things break the immersion for me.
6/10
4. Crisis on Infinite Darkwings
This arc was so close to being number 3, but there’s a big reason why that I’ll explain later.
It was a great reference to the famous DC arc and all the other Darkwings were fun to see, especially Quiverwing Duck- his backstory is heartbreaking. I liked that we got more info on Negaduck like his disdain for not being unique and a possible tragic backstory. It was disappointing not knowing more.
The ending was pretty good with bringing back the Tron-splitter and seeing Negaduck’s evil and slightly evil sides(it was funny). The Darkwarrior Duck cameo was also really great. He’s such an underrated character and needs more attention.
And we got more Morgwing development. I may not love them, but they can be cute.
7/10
3. F.O.W.L Disposition Arc
FD almost tied with or lost to CID; however, an aspect really changed my opinion.
Morgana finally being characterized as more than a love interest.
Morgana was my second favorite female character-just below Gosalyn-but I still had issues with her. Like, 1. Her magic talent being inconsistent and 2. Only serving as a love interest. She is so interesting and could be an amazing character. It sucked that the creators didn’t give her the time.
Her strong magic power and willingness to sacrifice herself made her out to be a headstrong and powerful sorceress, which is something I wanted to see.
I also really liked that Darkwing’s weakness is showcased here- his ego- and he actually learns how detrimental it is to his work and the world’s safety. And it actually stuck throughout the rest of the series afterwards.
8/10
2. The Duck Knight Returns
I loved this arc! It was such a great start to the comics! 😍
First, it tackled a situation the show barely touched- what if DW had to quit crime fighting long term. “Toy Czar Us” kind of tackled this though it was very short. We see how much not being Darkwing does to Drake, he’s depressed and disconnected. His intense ego diminished.
Another thing I love was actually seeing how much Launchpad mattered to Drake. We see him having flashbacks with his close friend and getting upset when something reminds him of their adventures. Drake sometimes even calls Launchpad just to hear his voice. It makes my big Drakepad heart beat even harder, and it’s nice to know that their friendship is not one-sided.
Also, having Megavolt and Darkwing as co-workers was amazing. Peak comedy!
The only thing that’s keeping me from giving this arc a perfect score is Negaduck finding out DW’s secret identity. Mostly how it was handled afterwards. Negaduck finds out his alter ego, even goes to house, yet after that he doesn’t take advantage of that info seriously.
9.5/10
1. Darkwing Annual- Quackerjack’s story
I love love love this story! 😍😍😍
Quackerjack is one of those villains that interests me since we see his origin story like Megavolt’s and Bushroot’s. We get to see more into his mindset and what drove him crazy, such as the discredit he gets for his toy ideas.
Although I’m a Quackervolt shipper, I really like Claire and she was a good way to introduce the less villainous side, and make you feel bad for Quackerjack.
It’s also nice to see Darkwing actually have sympathy for his enemies. I’ve always seen Darkwing and his enemies being kind of the same; they are people who want to be noticed but do it in different ways.
The ending was also amazing yet heartbreaking. We can see Quackerjack contemplating what he has done as he’s walking to Claire’s door. Then we see a red glow and Claire opening the door to a Quackerjack toy. He’s regrets everything he has done and thinks he’s only good enough as a toy. That is so sad and relatable. We’ve always had times when we’ve doubted our worth. This story gives Quackerjack more layers in an enticing story. This gives it a perfect score. It also benefits being a solo comic rather than a series like the others.
10/10 🥳
Thank you for reading and I hope you liked it! If you read the comics, I would like to see your rankings. Also, can someone tell me where I can read the Joe Books version incase I want to read it? 😁💕
*Note: Just because a member is lower than the others doesn't mean I dislike them. I love all of them.*
1. Negaduck
I love Negaduck! He's fun to watch and both of his origins are great! You sometimes gotta love a villain who just does it have fun.
2. Megavolt
Megavolt always makes me laugh and was my favorite villain until Negaduck showed up. His voice is also really unique and enjoyable to hear.
3. Quackerjack
QJ reminds me of Harley Quinn-one of my favorite DC characters. I enjoy playful villains who doesn't take things seriously. QJ almost got the second spot, but Sparky has a little more space in my heart.
4. Bushroot
I really like Bushroot and feel bad for putting him this low, but he's not as interesting to me as the others higher than him. He is very cute and I wished he had at least a redemption arc in the show or comics.
5. Liquidator
Poor Liquidator. He kind of got the short end of the stick when it comes to appearances. His origin story is unique, though, other than that, he's pretty bland. I remember reading that Tad Stones, the creator, didn't like Liquidator and decided to not give him as much episodes focused on him as the other members.
I don't particularly goon or do anything like that, but eye candy waifus have always been curse, I HATE IT. I love it.
FUCK!
Waifus can be very sexy but gacha really pushed themselves to add as plently as possible in short process.
But quite from the majority, I prefer Azur Lane. To me, it is the better waifu game. I am just used to already have decided that it is better. Sorry!
Oh my muscles.... sorry I need to go get prtoein asap... holy shit
Ranking them, what makes the hottest waifus? Let's qualify it in different characteristics.
I think even with all other shit added, physical appearance plays major role in her "waifuness" aka sex appeal and it is what is true for gacha as well. Basically, no matter where you look waifus often are the ones who are sexually appealing characters and psychologically positive, these two together create a great waifu for the gacha game.
So, wide hips then big boobs, then skeleton - the jaw has to be round and short, its important that it is lower than 30% in idle position, collarbones are inversed and slight posture. A lot of times manga artists fail some of these parts and make female characters unattractive, anyway..
If you did it, you already have proper female character. (idk if anyone, but muscular women do look a bit like men outside of pelvis and jaw snca)
The next factor is the character background, it plays major role and divided into some simialr traits that give it waifuness. the character must be cute and be positive and friendly towards the "master" or something, she has to be feminine in personality aka helping cooking or gifting presents. In other words things like being capable mother and showing nurturing personality, and she has to have quirks that give her meaning as character, for example having allergies, being NEET nihilist ass hol or something like that or hating omelets or being good swimmer, or prankster or always sweating for no reason, well there are many traits you can add to them.
Note if she doesnt love children and is self centered, anti-waifu than it'd be practically improbable to turn her into one ever at all even in fan art.
Now comes out major important decision - how do characters interact and build sexual tension? If they don't, then they can just stay as eye candies. Otherwise, they can build tension through baiting, that forces male character to act or think lewdly, in other words it is sort of like how else you have villains who come back at the last second or how they get defeated at last second, when things get turned around - a plot twist, so in erotic way you can add a twist of... You know what, it's so long to explain that. Basically, there needs to be danger and chance of failure, I'll explain it that way.
Make it so that the sexual plot twist is shocking, or that the male character needs to be in conflict, something like exterior elements of the story, it's not always conflict but it is a form of something that is shameful but also shock.
Anyway, now that we resolved general path to waifu body - cute traits - feminity - character personality - sexual shock baits
we can look at different gacha and compare them.
Starting with Azur Lane, we have ambigious very cool concept of characters based on ships with random quirks, that already puts it pretty high, to add to that costumes are abstract which means they can be anything you desire including fantasy. That means there is no limit to how waifus can be transformed in doujin environment or anywhere else. I can take one of the characters and change the setting and the character will still remain the same personality, anyway. That gives a lot of hard potential. But Fate and Sennen Aigis have established characters with some storylines, which means youi cannot just imagine them differently plus the story tends to be clusterfuck and way too developed, again it devours ability of creative freedom. That said both excel at fantasy and specific designs, which means for example characters can wield weird weapons like magic swords or historical artifacts, something that they are innately attached to. That said, in sennen aigis it shows more dramatically. As there are plently of classes of different types of characters who all have very different design. That means that if the game has both mages, maids and nurses as class three cannot be truly mixed. Fantasy cannot exist if someone already made it for you and I think its big fault with fantasy titles, especially sennen aigis and taimanin which basically has written the characters half assedly in non-interesting manner.
Because there is so much of the lore that sucks and does not bring any satisfaction, it takes away both the creative freedom and interesting plot, instead pictures - is all you really get, and a little bit of text although it might be possible to make a doujin of sennen aigis and fate they might be difficult due to already existing story.
It makes me feel like there is no story because there is no genuine focus and therefore no interesting waifus but very boring outside of design.
Another thing to note is the clothes characters are wearing, it makes major part of the character that makes you think "oh yeah they have to wear this" unfortunately this is very common in fantasy worlds where the outfits symbolize major character theme implying limitation on character himself, i mean what else will they wear if not ninja clothing or knight armor?!.. Would you really make character change clothes are you put so much effort in making them for him? This is another thing that in my opinion Azur Lane is better at and has more fan-freedom in doujin.
if I were to write doujin for sennen, I would probably stay as inaccurate to it because there's no way to write it with these simple plots, I wonder if it'd be cool to add something to churro where people can roleplay and have their own dnd thing... It'd be pretty fun and I was thinking too about that stuff. Too bad its hard to force myself to do anything that is not short term entertainment or benefit.
tbh i was debating to put tvd in the death row bc i hate sm about it, but it was one of the first shows i ever watched and seasons 2&3 are genuinely good.
regarding the 100, i actually think the show itself is pretty great (seasons 1-4) but i just have too much pent up hatred towards it bc of bellarke (they literally made me wait 7 years for nothing) and b*liza (clarke and bellamy were my favorite characters and i can’t look at their faces anymore).
some of these rankings are probably gonna be surprising but i stand by them.
ranking hsmtmts characters bc i’ve got nothing more important to do
14. lily
she’s just plain annoying and i want her to get off my screen every time she’s on it.
hope she’s not in season three and if she is she’s not redeemed (make her even more evil, then maybe she’ll be interesting).
[this is just about the character of course, nothing against the actress]
13. miss jen
i was finally starting to like her in the beginning of season 2 but the last few episodes reminded me how infuriating she is. i don’t like how she treats her students and the fact that she doesn’t have teaching credentials doesn’t help.
12. ricky
it’s not that i hate him i actually like him sometimes, but he’s so oblivious and gullible. give this boy some therapy then maybe we’ll talk.
11. nini
she’s alright. but we see so much of her and yet so little of the important stuff that would actually make her interesting. i support and respect her and all, i just don’t really care about her.
10. natalie
hello where’s her screen time? episodes 10&11 proved she deserves it.
9. big red
he’s just kinda there. i like the actor but i’m not that invested in the character’s storyline.
8. carlos
respect him a lot. but the show doesn’t give him enough plot line for me to care.
7. seb
love him bc he’s a sweetheart but him and carlos are in the same boat (or should i say ship) when it comes to screen time. the show remembers they exist once every 5 episodes, so they’re just kinda there in the background.
6. howie
he’s so high up bc he intrigues me. i’m certain that he’s a good guy but i guess the finale will settle it for me.
5. kourtney
i’m glad that this season she’s not just a supportive black friend and gets her own storyline. although i wish we’d seen more of her at work & pursuing her dreams instead of only witnessing the howie drama (and even that mostly in the background).
4. ashlyn
ash was consistently great from the beginning. love her bond with gina and need more of it.
in some ways she reminds me of phoebe from friends because she’s a multitasking queen and apparently likes to stir up drama (bc wth was that deal with the chocolates).
3. mr mazzara
even though he was sort of an antagonist in season one (for like 4 episodes) and he said a few nasty things, since his first scene, i liked his presence and comedic timing. in season two he completely won me over. he’s just someone who can do no wrong at this point. and his relationship with ej is amazing. so yes he’s in the top 3.
2. ej
ej could’ve be an unlikable character but matt cornett is portraying him so well it’s impossible not to like him. he was definitely one of the most surprising character development wise. although he was my second favorite since day one, regardless. his story arc was one of the best. he is the best male character. now, i’m kinda scared to lose him next season. and also, portwell for life <3
1. gina
do i even have to say it? she’s a queen and everyone should bow down to her. should’ve been the main character idc.
sofia wylie was the reason i started the show and gina became my number one the second i saw her in the background. finally this season has been giving her all the screen time she deserves and i couldn’t be happier. gina is one of my all time favorite comfort characters.
Long post time!
I once was on a medication that worked rather well for what I needed but unfortunately gave me unusual vivid dreams every night. For your amusement (and because this vent is long-awaited), I am compiling a list of the types of dreams I had and their ratings!:
Dreams where I drive: 4/10. Not the usual car crash dreams, which tbh are about a 6/10 because they're kind of terror-inducing in a rollercoaster way. These driving dreams, however, are normal driving stints, which means I often forget in my waking hours which memory of parking the car was the actual place I parked my car and which ones were dreams. >:(
Dreams with my significant other: 6.5/10. Easy to tell they're not real, yet still enjoyable, and usually involving other people s/o hasn't interacted with, so I get to see some new character interactions.
Dreams that are wholly focused on dream!me trying and failing to fall asleep: 2.5/10. Those suck. It kind of just makes my waking hours of falling asleep even worse, and leaves me pretty frustrated the next day.
Dreams where I am inexplicably in random, mundane places: 3.5/10. The problem with these is that they're fairly unsettling, and they stay with me a while, leading to some weird deja vu of "I've been here" when it was in fact a very clear dream I had weeks ago.
Dreams that splice in weird bits of trauma: 1/10. Shut up. This literally isn't relevant anymore and you have no reason to be bringing this up and dragging other innocent parties (random people in my dreams) into this.
Dreams that take a week or longer in a single night: 5/10. You get trapped in there and watch days pass, but usually if I'm having one of those dreams the location ain't bad. Brain has to sustain something for a week, after all. It very often gets overwhelming toward the end of the week, which might push it to a lower rating, but the locations generally being optimistic push it up a rating, so it balances out. The curse here is that I remember a week that never happened.
Dreams that are educational: 5.5/10. Pretty random, but not usually haunting, so that's a bonus. I could probably write an encyclopedia of absolute gibberish from the things I've learned from my dreams. They make sense, in a weird way, but some of the diagrams feel AI-generated? Even though it's in my head? And some of the concepts, too. Legit I have read textbook chapters in my head of knowledge that either I didn't know or isn't real, or both. (Usually the latter.)
Dreams that just tell me stuff that happened recently in real life: 4/10. There's almost always a negative tint and it's like, bro, why are you telling me this, I was there, I lived it this afternoon. And then my concept of what actually happened is messed up the following days, weeks, whatever.
I might come back to this and update it if I remember more types of dreams I've had. Or if I look in my notes app tbh. But anyway, having vivid dreams every night that haunt your waking life are not normal, so if you were wondering about yourself, you might want to check on that with a medical person, especially if it's impacting your memory or how rested you are each day. I had a long time being hesitant/resistant to call them "nightmares," because most of the time it wasn't scary monster or hopeless scenarios where I end up dying or worse, but the definition of nightmares isn't as rigid and black-and-white as we thought as kids. Bad dreams? Unsettling dreams? Dreams that bother you at all? Those are nightmares. It's not childish, and it is not something you need to live with.
