Your gateway to endless inspiration
IMAGINE THIS: You are sitting somewhere public, writing your story. Someone random walks up to you, asks to read what you are writing, they read it, then they say they like it.
Imagine that feeling every time you put a new chapter up, only for it to get 3 likes. JUST IMAGINE 3 RANDOM PEOPLE TELLING YOU THAT THEY LIKE YOUR STORY!
People have so much pressure to go viral, or to make something and for it to get MILLIONS of likes.
But most people don't get that. The majority of the population will never get that. And that's a cold hard fact.
But hang onto the feeling I mentioned earlier. Every time you get a new like, you brighten up someone's day with your writing. Your work was so amazing that someone took the time to read it, keep reading it, and tell you that they liked it.
My point is, (I know, this was very long lol) every like or comment counts, no matter how many or how little you get.
The hero or villain debate has always been fascinating to me because personally, I would rather love the hero. Not because of their personality or anything but because if it came down to it, and the hero would be forced to choose between me or the world, I would rather they choose the world.
Because that's the world-that is billions of people with lives separate from your own that will suffer because of that decision. Your teachers, your classmates, your animals, a grandma that finally beat cancer, a child who was finally born.
"A hero would sacrifice you to save the world-" I'm gonna stop you right there because that's all I need to hear.
While I do see the appeal in picking the villain, I think I'd rather be loved by someone kind enough to put others first before themselves, and if sacrificing me is the way to do it, I'd have lived and died happy.
Either that or I'm reading too much into a fantasy plot and giving my two cents on a topic no one really cares about.
Someone on here ranted about their dislike for when Percabeth fanfictions have Annabeth's favourite color be sea-green or like Percy's eyes, and referenced their own Annabeth's favourite colour to be Lavender. And now I read so many fanfictions that have Annabeth's favourite color be either yellow (another color they mentioned,) or lavender. So much so, that I don't know whether they're happy about it or not
While I love any form of writing, there's a particular fondness in my heart for simple writing. The type of writing that just lays things as they are, the characters thoughts, personalities, and everything else. Not to say I don't love or hate writing that overdramaticize's things, but there's something sweet about being compared to what you see in every day life rather than the unreachable stars above.
Sighs. Cosplay is difficult y’all.
I’m going to my state’s Comic Con tomorrow and I’m going in a Red Hood cosplay.
And every pair of jeans I have purchased for this cosplay?
In MY size? Hell, EVEN TWO SIZES UP FROM MY SIZE?
They have ALL BEEN TOO SMALL. The most recent pair I bought should work however, thank God. (I purposefully cut/ripped them at the knees so I can comfortably bend my legs and that made them exponentially looser.)
ITS JUST SO ANNOYING.
(It may be because I thrifted for every pair of jeans but still.)

basically, I probably won’t be active anymore, I’m planning on km$ today, sometime during the night. I’ve had a cranky shitty 4ss life. I don’t look forward to anything anymore and I feel like absolute shit. I’ve got everything ready, the letters, all that bs. The only thing I want for now is the final step. No quote can turn my the cogs in my brain, no kind of guilt will convince me otherwise. This has been the only thing I look forward too. And I truly, entirely cannot fathom how much I desire the mere suggestion of d34th. I feel as if my whole world lights up. And for once, as soon I take the final step, one final push, I will feel like a true free bird. Of course, I’ve always wanted to at least have some fun before I d¡3, I plan on dr¡nk¡ng down the p¡11s I’ll take, I used to just merely cvt myself yet the pleasure of bl00d flowing out is no longer enough.
goodbye cruel world, sincerely, everyx.
Chat I think we as a writing community lack in diversity.
Now I’m not talking about something like reader inserts with different genders and skin colours, because yes we do lack that but that’s another topic, I’m talking about fic IDEAS.
Things like one shots are getting kind of repetitive, most people focusing on the smut aspect of them when I think fandoms could explore so much more. And this is NOT me saying everyone’s writing looks the same, nor is it criticism on writers because I LOVE what yall do for us readers.
I’m talking about how when I want to consume something from my favourite media most of it is smut and it’s not even actual good smut that shows deep connections and trust between characters it’s just flesh out smut. What happened to creative scenarios and one shot scene guys can we bring back things like
“character x character based reader”
“Character x Reader *insert scenario*”
Where has all our creative literacy gone because half the time it feels like booktok has invaded my tumblr with their ‘steamy🌶️🥵🌶️🥵’ spice.
This isn’t meant to come off at authors btw this is just a little rant I absolutely LOVE fanfics and what the authors do for us readers it’s AMAZING just wish we had less repetition and hardcore smut somwtimes😓🫶
This is my first actual post on tumblr and I wasn’t entirely sure what to do, but I kinda just decided I’d do whatever I felt like and this stupid pinegrove album, Everything So Far, has been on my mind for weeks.
I have a problem with this album- it’s that it’s actually an amazing piece of art and I love it, but the ENDING. It’s a tragedy, truly.
I was recommended the album by a friend and they explained that in the beginning all the songs are shorter and almost feel incomplete, and then after & it explodes and the songs become longer and more colour is brought into the album with the tone. Once I had a listen for myself I 1000% agreed, but I couldn’t get behind the last few songs (which they hadn’t actually listened to).
The whole album leading up to the song Recycling builds in a really powerful way and then Recyling comes on and it’s perfect. Sunday is right after Recycling, and while it’s a good song, Recycling feels like a finale, if I could change the song itself for it to be written as a conclusion I’d extend it to be something like 7/6:37 instead of 4:37.
The last two songs, On Jet Lag and Days play and the end of the album is fully spoiled for me. Personally, On Jet Lag is only mid, and then Days is just not good. Days isn’t a conclusion. It’s possible this was intentional, however there are ways to make songs feel open-ended and still have them serve as a good conclusion, for example, A Matter Of Time in the album Let Live & Let Ghosts by Jukebox the Ghost is a conclusion that gives the listener the question, “Well, what happens next? Where do we go from here?” (This is another amazing album I’d definitely recommend listening to, it’s amazing and I will for sure be doing a separate post for that one at a later date). We can also see great examples of open conclusions in books too, where even though it’s open for the reader to think about what might’ve happened, it’s a satisfying conclusion.
Unfortunately, Everything so Far doesn’t have this satisfying conclusion and it really bothers me as this album is so good and *almost* all the songs are amazing on it and the order of which they are played is well-organized.
For a more complete album, I think switching the placements of Sunday and Recycling and placing On Jet Lag after Sunday. just not having Days. I originally thought that the album could do without On Jet Lag, but after re-listening to the song I found it only sounds mid by association with the last song, it’s honestly just an okay song on its own, but I think it’s a good transition song into the finale.
If I could rearrange the album but I had to keep all the songs, I’d keep it the same for the ending, but put Days somewhere before &.
It’s essential that an album have a killer intro song (New Friends sets the tone so well!! It’s so gooooddd) and a satisfying conclusion (Recycling but slightly longer, please believe me).
I could go on for days about the individual songs in this album, but I will not bore you with that, so I leave you with this.
I love this album to bits, but the ending was atrocious, imo.
Hooray for my first rant/post!
SICK SICK SICK OF SEEING TIKTOK COMMENTS SAYING ‘explain the lore’ or ‘spoil me for this’
IT IS A PIECE PF MEDIA THATS MEANT TO BE WATCHED.
THE BEST EXPLANATION YOULL GET IS TO WATCH THE DAMN MEDIA AND IN FACT YOU CAN MAYBE EVEN DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS ABOUT CHARACTERS AND THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN IT???
Like are we too lazy to watch things now?
I understand maybe a ‘tell me what it’s about’ with the intention of watching it latter if you like how it sounds but not a full on spoiling of the plot!!!
I’ve seen this a *ton* on mouthwashing videos created by the fandom like edits and cosplays and analysis SPECIFICALLY because if you choose to watch or play the game you’ll enjoy it so much more and you can experience the fandom creations as they’re meant to be experienced
PLEASE I BEG YOU JUST WATCH AND PLAY THINGS YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME AND IF YOU DON’T THEN AT LEAST YOU HAVE A OPINION FORMED BY YOURSELF AND THATS ONE HUNDRED PERCENT WORTH SOMETHING!!
i honestly feel so invalid and unaccepted because like i’m doing a shit ton of research and taking quizzes and tests to find out if i’m autistic or not. most of them say that i’m most likely to be on the spectrum. i’m trying to talk to my mom about getting an actual diagnosis by a professional but it’s so frustrating and confusing because she doesn’t think i do but im genuinely concerned about myself!! and i honestly feel like im losing my mind. i hope you don’t mind me ranting on about this because i feel like my feelings are invalid and wrong because of my mom and that she doesn’t seem to care about my mental stability at all. again very sorry that this isn’t usually what i post. i hope you guys understand 🫶
So, I've been playing a lot of far cry 5 and I'm about to play new dawn..and I've started thinking, imagine being the villain on something like that, a villain interacting with the characters, knowing you'd have to try even harder to get allies, and you don't have to worry about if your morals are right or wrong..because for you, there is no right or wrong.
Why don't I ever see zombie apocalypse stuff? I mean, I play dying light 2 and I think zombie apocalypse is a really interesting concept. So many possibilities for making your own story, how the virus happened, where it takes place, it might not even be a virus in your story. Making a zombie apocalypse character has some cool stuff too, like what weapons they use, the cool outfits, relations with other characters. The possibilities are nearly endless!
That is all for my zombie apocalypse rant.
Rant about my overconsuption with nail polish below. Read if you dare lol
The struggle of having so much of one thing you love the the point of it overwhelming you to the point of not wanting it anymore is such a bitch. I always get it with my massive nail polish collection. This only started with me becoming a fan of simply nailogical back in middle school. I became such a fan that me and my mom bought many polishes for myself, and then in recent years, she started to buy nail polish for herself too. My collection is so large that it's in or near the hundreds. It's all on these racks my mom bought (she had to buy a second to fit all the polish, and still I have some in extra bins). But now all I can see is the overwhelming amount of nail polish that I own, some drug store/ walmart brand, and some that are expensive, like Holo Taco. I've gotten so much nail polish over the years, some as holiday gifts and others just from passing by them in the store. I had a problem with buying, but now I have a problem with being unable to get rid of it. When I try to paint my nails, the self-doubt of if I'll hate it later latches onto me like a bloodsucking leech. I wish I could get rid of it like old clothes I don't wear but my mom won't let me. I know when I move out, I'm not taking all these nail polishes with me, I just can't. It's all too much, and I execute my solution.
Crying atm for being jealous that my boyfriend has such great friends and hangs out with them and I'm at home being a hermit doomscrolling and i have to be asked to get up from my bed. I need to get a therapist quick.
!!RANT!!
Am i the only one that’s getting tired and annoyed with the show Detective Conan?? Bc it’s been getting on my nerves for like the past few months now, and I’m just so fucking done with it.
1) First of all, the show has been going on for almost 30 years now (keyword almost actually 28 i think) and it’s only been a few months in the series (even tho there are over 1100 episodes which actually means that almost every episode is a day, taking off 2parters and collected episodes, also excluding the movies. Which means it’s technically been around 2 years and/or more)
2) The relationships are starting to get on my nerves as well platonic/romantic and just the complex relationships between side characters and/or Rivals, Like Kaito Kid & Conan. The romantic relationship between Ran and Schinichi is starting to feel absolutely creepy, useless and boring, especially considering Conan is Kinda her brother now, Ran loves Conan as her little brother, while he is technically her boyfriend (see how that is kinda off putting😃)
(i can make an intire post on the Ranshin relationship another time, if people want my opinion)
The characters that suddenly come in and all just start hounding on Conan/Shinichi is also getting really fucking annoying, it’s like it’s starting to turn into a harem but only for… fans…?? Does that make sense? Bc we know Canon is ShinRan but the creator is starting to put A LOT of Coai into the movies and series, and I’m like.. dude… I have no issues with shipping different characters, but that the creator is putting it INTO THE literal anime is kinda annoying, it’s like he’s creating Drama and love triangles on purpose, even tho the anime had NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT??
(Haibara, Sera, Ran, Ayumi and another girl, forgot her name tho. All these characters have interest in schinichi/Coan)
It’s just annoying how Gosho keeps ruining duos and relationships. Like i love the the Kaito kid episodes with Conan, they’re just my favorite, but Gosho pretty much just added Amuro into the loop for no reason?!? Like i just don’t like Amuro (never did, but i didn’t go out of my way to ignore him, he’s important to the story) but adding him into a Rivalry that’s been going on for so long, and has its own special ring to it and special rules between two people with a double life, that only trust each other, when their life depends on it, it just ruined my intire love and experience for the episode.
3)The end?? I literally cannot see a good ending to this show. The only reasonable answer, in my opinion would be: Conan moves back to America and pretty much just loses contact with the others, or he died (doesn’t add up in the end either) and everyone forgets him over time, so schinichi can come back. There literally is no good ending to this show, even if people figured out Conan was schinichi (in fact i think that is the worst ending)
I should probably explain more but I’m kinda in a rush and I’m probably gonna edit this slightly later, but this is already long so if ya have any questions I’ll try to answer and make a post about it, to be more clear
or just overall go around assigning godly parents to random strangers in your head depending on what their vibe is
do you ever look at someone and go like “yep, that’s definitely a child of hermes”
do you ever look at someone and go like “yep, that’s definitely a child of hermes”
just read a genshin theory about the abyss twin being the remnants of their consciousness and that they’ve been dead this whole time… I AM NOT OKAY
no hate towards izuocha but i’ve always had the impression that what ochako felt for izuku was simply admiration and she confused this admiration for romantic feelings
i keep pondering over in my head wether lily potter would have forgiven snape. on one hand i’m like fuck no, i don’t care what anybody says she would have NOT forgiven him. on the other i’m thinking that despite all the bullshit in the end he did switch sides and protect harry (despite being a complete arsehole to him and only really doing it cause of his love? obsession? for lily)
open to hearing anyones thoughts on this
i was on my way to the library when i noticed my shoe lace undone. i bend down to tie it but i’m having a bit of trouble since i’m carrying a tote bag that kept slipping off my shoulder as well as my lunch box and a thermos cup. this stranger comes out of nowhere and offers to carry my things while i tie my shoe lace. it was such a random little act of kindness that instantly warmed my heart and had me smiling like a fool. it made me think about how random small acts of kindness such as those could make someone’s shitty day even a little bit brighter and how lovely it is for humans to simply act kindly towards one another without expecting anything in return.
Some men make me mad sometimes
So many guys say they like chubby girls but we soon as they see one there like ew. Like I saw this beautiful chubby girl and she was dancing and whatever on tiktok and the comments were being so rude to her. kudos to the men that actually know what chubby is.
DISCLAIMER! ALL art shown in this long ass post belongs to MAGNOZZART and his wonderful team! Go read 'The Tomato Can' on WEBTOON! Also there are huge, massive, TREMEMDOUS spoilers. Finish your reading first!
this post is a work of appriciation
Fun fact: this was supposed to have been posted on December 5th! Time flies, doesn't it? Ha ha...
...
Centered around 15 professional MMA fighters and several deadly men in the roster, the Tomato Can is jam-packed with action. As of the date of this post, readers have gone through six complete fights and are eagerly awaiting the seventh. (This original paragraph was written on December 5th, where we had just concluded Elijah vs Zach. Ever since then, there has been two more fights!)
Being the center point of the entire comic, the action sequences are well-drawn with interesting palette themes, aesthetics and especially presentation. The author and artists are able to create exciting yet grounded fights in the realistic setting The Tomato Can is set in by using artistic exaggerations, fun visuals and the thing I wish to fixate on today: setting an atmosphere.
See, the reason I made this glorified text post is to demonstrate how the author uses atmosphere to create tension and to orient the reader, as well as appriciaTE HOW BAT-SHIT THEY WENT FOR...
...Joe Rumsfield vs. Donovan Day, the fifth match in the series and the precursor fight to the main character, Elijah Zelenoff's, battle against his long-time enemy Zach Hartley.
It's vital mentioning this fact because it's the main match I want to compare with Rumsfield vs. Day. Zelenoff and Hartley is are an extremely-plot heavy pairing, what with Hartley and Zelenoff having fought six times in the past as well as being the first few introduced characters in the beginning. Not only plot, but there's a lot of emotion behind the match too: Hartley had recently incited a fight with Zelenoff by insulting his late father and missing mother, adding to the fuel of their already fuming hatred of eachother. Because of this, the audience is expecting THE most important fight by far in the series. And boy, does the art not disappoint.
You'll notice the gritty, muted tones and a lot of cool shades. You'll notice how desaturated all the characters look, especially if you compare them to previous episodes. For me, this really does set the tone the author's wishing for; this isn't some show for audiences, this isn't something they're doing as a job, this. is. WAR!
Reading forward, the stakes are high. You can see our main protagonist slipping clearly, you can see Hartley get the upper hand, and the framing only accentuates the emotion. With every connecting strike of Hartley's, the art is cold and unfeeling. It's all muted, almost as if the atmosphere has given up completely.
That is, until the first blood spills.
While I can go on about Zelenoff vs. Hartley, it's not his name on the title. It's Joe Rumsfield's, and by golly is it my god-given duty to praise just how much insanity this man packs into him.
Joe Rumsfield was the first character to be introduced once Elijah Zelenoff joined the show way back in the first three episodes, and immediately set the course of his character with:
He's Doctor Disrespect with the alpha male mentality and legitimately called himself the 'genetically superior male' as his official fight nickname. Keep in mind, these things are PERSONALIZED. So, you can expect this man has a thing for funny. Silly, even. Flamboyance.
And by god, is he flamboyant.
Let's open up episode 36, Rumsfield vs. Day. And it hurts my eyes.
Not because the art is bad! God no! It's because I've spent so much time with the nitty-gritty of Zelenoff vs. Hartley! The lights are currently on, and the characters shine in it. The saturation is up, and there's color all over. How pretty!
Rumsfield vs. Day doesn't have 'plot' behind it. It's not a high-stakes emotional journey between two men who loathe eachother, it's about Donovan Day and Joe Rumsfield. It's about the sheer amount of COMEDY Joe brings to the table, and how our old unlucky friend Donovan Day has to take the brunt of that COMEDY. Granted, there's some emotion on Joe's part, but unfortunately Joe has no time for sadness.
LOOK. AT. THIS.
A walkout is designed to 'introduce' yourself. The way you walk, the music you choose, the attire you were, it's a way of showcasing who you are before you duke it out in a cage.
Can you tell who's going to command this entire fight? Can you tell who's going to absolutely rock a man's shit for one round?
Compare the mentioned fights to each other, especially since they come back to back. The colors, the ambiance, the atmosphere, it's sheer contrast and it's pure awesome. The gritty tones compared to vibrant saturation. The total loss of hope compared to the fun painted on comic panels. It's great!
And that's kind of the point I want to make here; Joe DICTATES his entire fights, all the way down to the art. Look at these panels:
(panels)
It's comedic relief, but I like to take it as a sign. All of these panels SCREAM Rumsfield, and who he is as a person. This isn't Day vs Rumsfield, this is JOE'S fight, completely and utterly. This is essentially Joe's version of a warning: "Don't fuck with me."
For me, it was pretty important to have this dynamic. Zelenoff vs. Hartley's outcome would change the course of the webcomic completely with its high stakes. It was one of the biggest fights of the season, what with its tumultuous history and heavy revelations behind it.
I don't think this would have been communicated so well without Joe vs Donovan's existence. Or, well, Joe's fight.
It's the calm before the storm, essentially. Both fights communicate emotions without heavy dialogue with just their art alone, and it's a wonderful skill to have. These contrasts help each other. When we see the peppy, bright colors and humor of Joe vs. Donovan, it makes Zelenoff vs. Hartley's overall tone more jarring. It lets us feel with the story, which I feel like can be very difficult to communicate with comic books where the story has to be purely visually expressed. Both sides of the coin give off the correct visuals to tell a compelling story that sticks with the readers, which is really fun to read!
It's also great for character!
I mentioned being able to 'feel' with the story, and that's the main point I wanted to make. But, let's go off the deep end now. If you've stuck for this long, thank you! Anyway, the safety bar is lowering now. What? This wasn't in the pamphlet for the ride? You want to get off?
TOO BAD.
I mentioned earlier that I feel like the art shift really feels like Rumsfield as a character. Its his fight, and he's taken control of the narrative.
(he does have deadpool potential...)
Who else had these vibes?
to those who are just entering the scene of The Tomato Can, this guy will consume all media relating to it.
This is Kublai Khan. He's banned from Japan and a master of subtraction.
This may be a stretch (don't go), but upon rereading his fight, you can feel a sense of dread to him. It's said by Dejaun that the fight was him "trying to send a message", which sounds about right. The panels charged by Jason Hardwood, his opponent, are brash, loud, and self-righteous. But above them all, Kublai's overall vibe leaks through like a parasite, everywhere. Despite Kublai's undying respect for the man, from the looks of it Jason was just another step to his staircase of bodies. Once again, Kublai conducts the narrative of his fights, by pure skill and madness.
Doesn't that sound familiar?
Joe vs Kublai is going to be two forces of nature against each other. A very wise commentator once described the two as "two cartoon characters in a world of serious folks". It's going to SHAKE THE DAMN PLANET, and I. Am. WAITING!
I don't know how to end this. I've been working on this for an undescriable amount of time and several things have been happening on the backburner. The webcomic actually ENDED IT'S FIRST SEASON WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS .
So...read Tomato Can, and support artists. Yeah.
...if there are any factual errors I am tOO TIRED TO FIX ANY PLEASE I JUST GOT OFF A 3 HOUR FLIGHT AND I KNOW JAMIES VERSUS ELIJAH HAPPENED I ALREAYD HAD TO REWRITE THIS TO INCORPORATE IZOVS OSCAR JUST PLEAS ELET ME POST THIS-
*End post*
thanks for reading.
So Google, not just Chrome, but Google itself, hates ad blockers.
I get it, ads make money for way less effort and customer involvement than subscriptions and paywalls.
The problem is, as cybersecurity professionals have said, ads are a security risk for every system they interact with. Even if you don't click any ads ever, they're still a security risk.
How are they a security risk? Because ads are allowed to run code to perform their tasks. This code is supplied by the ad provider, and if all it ever did was provide a link, a hovertext/description for the visually impaired, and maybe a non-gif animation, this would be a non-issue on all but the weakest internet connections.
They are not all like that, though.
Endless cases of ad providers, site providers, even your actual ISP (Internet Service Provider) have been proven to inject arbitrary code, capable of doing a great number of things, into ads, links, images, video, etc.
This code has had scripts to use your computer's processing power to help mine Bitcoin so long as it's on the page the code started on, it's been used to install malware (even by your ISP in one particularly bad case), it's been used to just install viruses or keyloggers or so many more things.
Hell, even the not-malicious code can just bog down your computer by being terribly written messes of badly functioning code, so something that should run with barely any impact instead takes up ridiculous amounts of processing power and capacity.
This is a problem, and it's largely solvable by simply blocking ads. There's no native way to prevent ads from running scripts or code without disabling all JavaScript on every page, which effectively kills most pages you go to since every drop-down menu, every page-altering section (like the Google images thing), most search bars, video playback, and so much more, all depend entirely on JavaScript.
Google wants to take away that necessary security of blocking problematic ads, rather than just make a way to disable the problematic aspects of ads.
I dislike ads, especially when they take up more than about 25% of the screen. I'd ideally like to see little to no ads ever, but I understand how ads support the sites they're on, support creators on streaming services, etc.
I'd be okay with classic banner ads, basic image/link ads, even the before/during/after video ads, if they weren't almost guaranteed to be literally hostile. If Google hates ad blockers so much, they should make them less of a safety requirement by letting us choose to disable ad scripts, or even just block that entire concept, because no ads for any worthwhile service or product have ever needed to run scripts. If an image or GIF of your product/service, maybe with a quick description, isn't selling your product/service, then making it hover over the page content, make noise, and mine Bitcoin will only piss your target audience off, while proudly claiming that you are the one doing it.
Would you buy a product that tricks you into interacting with it through just being annoying and pulling the sibling trick of "I'm not touching you, see? I'm touching your computer, not you?"
Hell, pop-up ads were basically scriptless and still managed to piss off most of the people who encountered them. The guy who invented them made a public apology for having developed that 'extremely intrusive' marketing method. Now ISPs have been caught injecting malware into links that you click on while using their service, with the express intent of installing them to your computer to monitor what you do and block access to sites they don't want you on.
You want the Internet to be safe? Don't fight porn or violence, that has never done anything but drive up interest. Fight the people actively making the Internet literally unsafe to use regardless of age or system.
I'll accept ads if ad providers stop making automatic malware.
Sorry for the rant, I'm tired and annoyed.
Just watched the Minecraft movie and it was good, but in my opinion they should of kept it like the vanilla game. Something like the warden or the Ender Dragon could of been a better big bad or pilligers the piglens wherent bad persay I liked them they where fun. Also the movie should of been fully animated or been connected to storymode in some way, Minecraft was never really an isikia. Also the speed boots don't make sense I know they wanted to show off the modding community and all but especially with the speed golem it didn't make any sense, the boots should not of substituted for a carved pumpkin it dosent make sense, on the note of the speed boots it feels more like terraria then something you'd see in minecraft. Like it's good id recommend going to see it but it was just slightly wrong.
>:(
I know I don't rant on here too much, or talk on here, really, but I have to scream about this. I was scrolling through my recommended articles just now, and this popped up.
Now, while I do not pray to Ares nor do I particularly enjoy his mythology, I know that as a legitimate deity, he is truly a wonderful deity. He is a protector of women, he is a defender of rape, domestic violence, and war victims, and so much others. He has so many myths in which he helps people, and honestly, he and Aphrodite are pretty strong, too.
He, much like Hades or Thanatos, does not deserve to be vilified because of fictional media! I enjoy participating in fandom as much as anyone, and I'm a very big fan of Percy Jackson, but Ares is not a villain, and for this article to come not from a fandom site, but an at least semi academic site, is very upsetting.
I just had to get that out of my system, sorry
Ok, so I have feelings and I need to express.
Ok, so, Kitty Pryde, AKA Katherine Anne Pryde, started in the Claremont era of X-Men. When I first saw her, I was immediately obsessed. I've always liked the X-Men because of what they represent, but haven't gone too far in because X-Men is usually pretty dark and depressing. But I, a little ten year old Jewish girl, came across Kitty right when I was starting to get unsure of who I was. And then here was this hero, aroundy age, who acted like me, looked like me, and believed in the same God I did. When I read the holiday issue I was so excited because they had included Kitty in her traditions. They had a chanukiah (the holiday menorah) and they explained the traditions and it wasn't just a chanukiah thrown in the corner of a panel. I felt so seen. Then they started to go dark. I don't know when, because like I said, I am woefully confused with the current X-Men timelines, but they started to turn her into this assassin. They gave her tattoos(which, btw, the Torah has always been against tattoos and Kitty has mentioned before her distaste for them...) They have her killing, which is so far from the kitty I found, the kitty I idolized. She never killed, she was snarky and smart and strong and she was friends with killers and accepted them but SHE NEVER KILLED. Because she was 13! And she grew up around Logan and they got so close and it was always that she knew what he did, so she let him do the killing and she got the info. Just because you say she was upset about it doesn't erase both the actual act and the complete and utter character assassination. This, to me, is about the same as giving Batman(Bruce Wayne's Batman specifically) a gun. It's wrong. Also, they gave her a cool ass look, made me have hope she was gonna have a dope ass pirate look (which totally fits the Jewish theme, the amount of Jewish pirates is kind of astounding. If anyone wants a separate post on that let me know please:]) and then I read some panels and they gave her the sick coat... And a fucking unitard. A corset belt. With a unitard. She went from this:
To this:
It's like. Bruh. The hell is that?! Talk about a downgrade! Also, that quote, in the panel? I *know* that Logan would be so upset at this because of how the two of them interact. They either have a older-younger sibling relationship, or it's parentally mentor-mentee. Either way, Logan never wanted Kitty to kill, and it sickens me to see this. That's all, sorry for the rant

Wander can absolutely pull anyone he wants, from any moral ideology, at any time. The thing is though, he has a very different set of expectations regarding his own love life compared to others.
When it comes to other people's relationships, Wander is absolutely overjoyed to set things up for them! Seeing two people in love is one of the most beautiful things in the galaxy to him, though that's because he buys too much into the "romanticization" of relationships commonly found in the media.
He sees love as this perfect and unbending thing that must always result in a happy ending. He ignores Drakor and Demurra's good advice about communication in favor of yelling out his idea of living happily ever after while expressing the fact they "kinda sorta saved a princess." Wander is completely sold into the idea that romantic love is the ultimate relationship in a person's life.
This might explain why he and Sylvia appear adamant on staying single.
I've noticed that some people confuse Wander being a complex character with being inconsistent; so in order to sum up why someone so insistent on relationships being the solution to everyone's problems doesn't consciously pursue one of his own, I'm gonna put a few bullet points down.
- Wander loves to butt into other people's business but he leaves them alone at the end of the day once he sees they've been helped; he does not drag people with him unless they ask/want to come (Sylvia was alone as a bounty hunter and wanted to learn to be better after she got along with Wander: she chose to stay).
- Wander's lifespan is HUUUUGE! Most of the people he meets are gonna die WAY before he does and that is not something anyone in a romantic relationship wants to deal with.
- Contrary to popular belief, this man does not understand women as well as people think he does. He considers the heart of a lady "a mysterious thing that scientists have wrestled with for years." He plays the stereotypical sexy blonde whenever he decides to crossdress, though this is mostly just to work on villains. He was quick to think that Dominator being a girl was really the only thing that he needed to know on her end of getting her and Hater together (this has an extra layer I'll dive into later). Now I'm not trying to say that he's sexist or anything, that is nowhere even CLOSE to being true. He does, however, have a tendency to frame women as "the love interest" given what he knows about romance. This doesn't work in favor for his OWN love life though, because:
- Wander is really flarping gay. Not even a question. We've only ever seen him flirt with men, it's mostly been with Hater, and he expressed clear disinterest or fear when women hit on him (btw I feel like people don't talk nearly enough about how Janet tried to assault him? And how her moon was made from her body so he's basically her son??? Seriously, flarp Janet. All my homies hate Janet. #2 on my WOY hit list). Considering his pairing habits rely on disney-esc fairytale logic, he might not have that great of an idea on how to set himself up with a guy he isn't looney-tooning the shit out of. (No, I don't think he's aro because he genuinely does get flustered/interested at certain points of the series, but I totally understand if you headcanon him that way).
- He might be worried that a new romantic relationship could overtake the special bond he has with Sylvia, even though this would never happen and his relationship with Sylvia transcends any notion of this because of how special it is. With his logic though, he might feel like finding love would mean replacing his best friend...
That pretty much explains how he values relationships differently. I could continue this rant and go into how he was so obsessed with the idea of Hater dating Dominator by imagining himself in Dominator's place, and how I have tangible proof of that across pretty much half of the entire season, but idk if you guys wanna hear me go on a tangent about skeletondance lol. Thank you for reading.
Wander is the ultimate rizz master, like how’d he get the car? Where from? How did he convince that lady to accompany him? You know it was just so easy for him, i mean look at him. ABSOLUTE STUD.
SOBBING my eyes out because I wanna be loved so bad. I want that kinda love where I'd be willing to just leave everything for him and live in a little cottage in the forest away from everything. Like i know I'm still young and I have time but everyone around me has atleast had a relationship before, and I cant even keep a conversation with a guy before he just ends up getting bored or exhausted of how much work I am
