Inktober 2024 Day 2: Discover

Ignore how inconsistent the starting sketches were it's fiiiiine

Welcoming in a few of our more prominent members of the Isles.

• Joel Beans, the still so-called temporary head of the Isles for the past 20 years. He's grown cold and distant to most outside of his love for his son. A well hidden paranoia has set in, those around him and trying to dethrone him effective in having him have his guard on high at all times.

• Hermes Mythos-Beans, the loosely-titled prince of the Isles, he's become something of a symbol for the creation of the new-era of the Isles. He's seen more with his artwork or instruments rather than with any sort of political or fighting scenes. He tries hard to uphold padre's name and even harder to keep his father safe as much as he can.

• Eddie Mythos, a loved and respected man of the Isles. He was once a cherished father figure to many of the Kestrals & still so for some pirates outside of the Faction. Since his passing, he still remains a quite positive memory among any pirates who knew him in life.

• Scott Denholm, the last survivor of the grand-standing family name. He's more away from home than not nowadays, tending to be one to keep others at arms length. Since his abrupt return and prolonged stay on the Isles, he's made a face for himself of being a major supporter of the left-behind Mythos family.

• Owen Orange, a charismatic and eerily persuasive character on the Isles. She's not shy to voice her thoughts, clear on how he views Joel as some undeserving intruder on their Isles. Many find it hard to say no to him and she's become rather savvy at rallying people to her side, however he may have that play out.

• Martyn Woods, a snappy and stubborn member. Many have noticed an odd shift in his personality since the first Fall of the Isles. Most attribute it a reaction to such an event or to the rumored rejection & built rivalry of sorts between him & a certain ex-Heron captain.

Important faces seen during the journey through the sirens.

• Siren Joel: an imposter's face plastered on a monster. An uncanny resemblance to the partner of our story's Captain.

• The true face of the lead siren, it's disguise falling off after finding the danger they're in.

• Another captured siren, baring a striking resemblance to their captor's long-passed partner.

As it now stands, I am done with the character sketch line up. Up next is the pennings which are going great and then I can start exploding with my nonsense <3.

I did rush the out-of-disguise designs of the sirens but I will clean them up in the pennings.

As always, questions and comments are always appreciated and my askbox is wide open for them.

• Three of the men of Sausage's crew: Kyle Eef, Red D. Doons, & Apo Kuna. Close knit & having each other's back in plenty of cases, these three will be seen frequently throughout the Stories of the Crew.

• Two of the ladies on Sausage's ship, Guqqie & Michela are two of the closest friends you'll see on the crew.

• More of Sausages crew: Ros, Graecie, & Puffy. While Ros and Puffy also are found on Sausage'a main ship, Graecie acts as the head for one of his other ships during the voyage.

• The "Brilliant Prophet," Acho Denholm. In death, stars been gifted powers of premonition & cursed with the helplessness & growing hollowness that comes from being a prophet in the Underworld

• A mysterious shifter and God of sorts & a creature of a shattered spirit, they have taken to the name "Major." He's taken a starkly similar appearence to another in Sausage's life who could have had his heart once upon a time.

Also I do love this batch a lot but I am so incredibly happy with how Michela, Ros, & Guqqie turned out, goodness.

Ceasg Scott, does Sausage ever find out? What about the myths that state a captured ceasg must grant 3 wishes?

First of sorry for taking a billion years to answer, I got busy-

Does Sausage ever find out?

I can see *eventually* Sausage finding out, but it's no where in the near future.

Sausage may or may not have seen Scott in his ceasg form, but he doesn't have the connection of "Oh that seamonster was Scott." He's seen Scott. He's seen a ceasg. He does not know that it was Scott. More on that later :>

As it stands, of the pirate cast, Acho knows (duh), Martyn knows (whoops), & Cleo (and Kyle somewhat) has a Suspicion somethings off witn Scott but nothing concrete. Scott's an odd fella as it is so who knows.

What about the 3 wishes myth?

There are differences between what would be Our-World Myths vs In-Universe Mechanics.

Such as, I see ceasg Scott as having *some* abilities but not endless wish-granting ones.

I do see more of sort of "Partial soul bound until the wishes are fulfilled" sort of thing. Contractual if you will. Where Scott more-or-less has to do 3 Things of whatever Thr Person says or wants (favors, so to speak).

So Yes on wishes, but Scott doesn't have any endless power to do whatever.

Tl;Dr: Sausage does not know & Scott is obligated to basically do three favors for anyone that finds out.

StarBorn Sparklez (Thoughts and stuff)

So, I’m rewatching Jordan’s Stream and It gets to a part where Shubble and Scott mentions how if Jordan is thought to be missing by his people and family, surely they will go looking for him. But Jordan said “Well, They count on me to be self-sufficient and that their is a lot expected of me.” And one, the way he said that in character made me want to hold this man and another thing is that this must have been engraved into him as a kid or teen. The fact that he has to report back, that he has to be the one to look for them. And that they are not going to look for him. No one is going to look for him.  NOT EVEN HIS PARENTS ARE GOING TO LOOK FOR HIM.  This makes me just want to protect his man. Because by this logic they won’t know if his dead or what if he can’t report for a while and they declare him dead without even trying to find him.

 And god imagine if he reports back and his parents or higher up ridicule him and tell him that he should have been able to report faster with the training he has been put through. Empire thoughts (Angst)

Jimmy lost Scott, but doesn’t know it and his sister forgot about him again. All I do is live in pain and I love and hate it. I crave angsty, but sometimes it really do be to much man. My poor Cod boi. And now that I’m thinking about it...... Will Jimmy forget too? Fuck. No. Shit.  And imagine its slow for him and him realizing in horror of the lovely memories of his family fading. Him scrambling on trying to keep them from disappearing only for his last hope to be a book and quill. But all he can do now is stare at the words written in the book and taking them as truth hoping to one day meet those he has forgotten.
