Guys, does anyone know if there's going to be (or was, I'm not going to put past myself missing it 😅) a Damirae week 2024... Like for writing? And if there was is it against the rules to join now? Never participated before, so don't know the rules...
I may be just uninformed, but I'm currently writing a ff and it suddenly hit me that we completely ignore the fact that the Titans have to go to school. Like... I know that Damian has like three doctorates at this point, but what about Jaime, Gar and Raven?
So I believe that they are all home schooled and Damian helps them when they don't get something (though I doubt he's a very nice teacher).
Also does anyone know if Raven was taught things like math in Azarath? Cuz I think it would be hella funny if her and Damian actually fell in love while he was explaining to her things like elementary school math.

Okay so I just rent on a rant to my sister about Teen Titans Go and I figured I’d post it here cause yeah um.
ALSO IF YOUR A FAN OF THE SHOW THATS TOTALLY OKAY BUT IM NOT GONNA BE TALKING POSITIVELY ABOUT IT SO JUST A HEADS UP!!!!!
Okay so basically I really, REALLY hate it. Like I’ll be honest I’ve seen some really funny shit from it that has made me laugh out loud but that doesn’t excuse everything else. The entirety of the show just feels like one big mockery of the original and they degrade and scrape every character into a joke and it’s so fucking humiliating.
Like I’ll be honest the original was better, and I know I sound like one of those people who can’t appreciate new things but I do feel like we can make a new generation of Teen Titans without it being just pure brain rot. Like we don’t need it to be brain rot at all. And I get that the show also talks about real world stuff and important things in real life like taxes and such but that doesn’t make up for all the fart jokes (everything in this show is just a punchline at some point I’m sorry).
And I HATEEE how they did the characters it’s just so UGH. Its just really sad. I really hate how they did Cyborgs character the most because he was so cool and the mature but fun who was actually really smart and strong (they also could’ve given him more screen time and love in the original). The show also weirdly sexualize Starfire and Raven and it’s like whyyyy why would you do that.
And I’m not saying the original show was perfect, because nothing is perfect. The OG had plenty of flaws but it was still really cool and it was dark and edgy but made for older kids and was just entertaining in general.
ALSO THE STUPID GRRR the designs in the DC Superhero Girls is just. What. They somehow manage to make a bigger mockery of these character and it’s like, they use to be so cool and fun. Im sorry, I don’t want to be to hateful.
So final thought, I think DC is just kinda going downhill, especially with the new fart fetish comic they’re releasing. The same thing goes with Marvel as well. Both companies ran out of ideas for they’re stories so they either reuse content or turn it into fast brain rot and they keep pumping these movies and episodes out by the minute without any love or care because it gets them money faster. And I’m so sad to see both of my favorites superhero franchises turn more and more into heartless, soulless, greedy businesses. I know I sound like a hippy but I grew up with this kind of stuff and I love love love superhero’s so much, I just hope it gets better.

Okay but I’m gonna be real here Charles having a family reunion would be so chaotic cause you would have Juggernaut, Casandra, Raven, and P. Xavier all in the same room with him. You can literally smell the drama that would unfold. Or it could totally be super chill. Idk, I might draw this later, but I honestly think it would be super fun to think more about.

Each or every one of them suffered from this form. But with that comes power. Isn't it? Such power, the man never dreamed of their punishment. And they're all from the dark fathers. I wouldn't say about Duncan, his father wanted peace, so he's an exception. All this is proof that there are no barriers between the 2 parties. Simply put, mistakes. Something that from God's point of view should not be! Well, here the edges are erased. Therefore, such an alliance is quite possible for half-bloods to be born.

I wanted to draw out a character sheet for some of my favorite Titans/ Young Justice kiddos. I also wanted to redesign some of the more obscure forgotten heros who have potential to be really cool characters but DC kinda drops the ball with them constantly or ignores their existence altogether.

Slade appreciates strength–especially when he can use it or manipulate it. But there is something to be said for those who either refused to be used by him, or ended up breaking away from it. So while he does not leave them with a substantial portion of his wealth, he is willing to give a small fortune to Raven, Robin and Terra as a minor show of respect.

I had so much fun drawing this piece!!! I actually think it’s one of my better pieces from this year
Again this is inspired by Gabriel Picolo’s design of the teen titans as teens!
So after drawing my BBRae piece I decided I wanted to draw Raven and Starfire in Picolo’s “modern day” look. I also tried line art again and really liked the effect it had. So I think for awhile I’l be jumping back forth between my two colouring styles hope you guys don’t mind :)

I want a Batfam au where everything is the same except Dick is the same person as Robin from the Teen Titans series (2003) but not because of the apprentice arc like many of you might be thinking, (though it wouldn't hurt to throw it in) no I want Dick to have the same "Skills" Read: Superhuman abilities as Robin.
Robin in the Teen Titans was throwing a giant made of cement, shattering his pole with one hit, taking on the rest of the Titans at the same time, when they were holding back and not.
Clark: Are you sure he isn't a meta or alien or something?
Bruce: I check every few weeks.
Oliver: Wait, he's human?
Tim: B! We need backup.
Bruce: No
Steph: Nows not the time for your no outsiders in Gotham rule!
Bruce: Fine I'll contact Nightwing.

Do you have a recs for fics based on the Apprentice arc?
Ooohohoho yesss, you've come to the right person. I have quite a lot of fics to rec (ive been obsessively consuming and hyperfixating like mad on the apprentice arc in particular):
(Also i consider haunted to be part of the overall apprentice arc so there are a few fics based on and set after that episode)
First you can look at the tag "dick grayson as slade wilson's apprentice" on ao3 and there are hundreds of fics, with every dynamic and characters you could want, these are just my favorites ive read (put very very vaguely in an order going down from my most favorites):
Never Alone
My favorite, its a masterpiece, its amazing! After haunted robin continues to have hallucinations and its a finished longfic that gives a really good look into robin's mental illness and how he is still only a human. I made a whole post about this fic and how its perfect in every way, i have not binged a longfic this long in forever but i did this one in a single reading session because i was completely and utterly gripped
More coherent and detailed but completely spoiler free rambles about what makes this fic so good here i cannot stress enough how this is a must read if you like the arc. I like, really really want you to read this one
The voice and gears of sunset
Oneshot set right after robin is rescued from slade in the apprentice arc. It hits so hard and hurts. Robin's recovery and him trying to connect again with the titans after what he had gone through, the titans being there to help every step of the way. The ending melts my heart
Emotional motion sickness
Oneshot set many years later when the batfam is fully formed and robin is nightwing. A good fic with dick and damian's brotherly relationship and discovering new ways to cope. There is an encounter with slade and that scene fills me with so much undescribable emotion
The fight and the war
Oneshot with the batfam. After an encounter with slade, dick is interogated with his family about the way he responded to slade's commands in the battle and how it could have gotten him killed. Dick is forced to admit what happened back when he was with the titans in the apprentice arc. Very good protective batsiblings in a different way to the other fics
Bedeviled
Oneshot set right after haunted. The spores have a lingering effect and robin presses an emergency distress signal to batman who is there for him
To pick at a scab
Years later with the batfam dick comes to the batcave and his younger brothers have some questions about a sound recording from his time with slade. Dick is thrown into a vivid flashback and the batfam break him out of it and help him talk through it. Oneshot
Just the same
Robin deals with stockholm syndrome and cant help but compare how similar or even better slade is than batman. The titans are there to help him figure things out. Oneshot.
Reforming Nightwing
Unfinished longfic. The titans never find iut about the nanobots and dick is forced to be slade's apprentice for 9 years. After Slade is killed and dick is able to excape, he goes to bludhaven where he picks up a new civillian name and the new identity nightwing. Meanwhile tim and steph want to figure out who this new "nightwing" and what his connection is to the villian "renegade"
Do you think batman will give me partial custody?
Oneshot. After the apprentice arc, robin returns to gotham. Unable to figure out how he feels about the situation he goes to his parents' graves where he encounters harely who helps him start a conversation with him about the abuse they both faced
The apprentice
Unfinished longfic where the titans dont discover the nanobots and robin has to continue being slade's apprentice. He spends his time figuring out how to get a message to the titans or to batman or to anyone without slade knowing
Next to my robin and some matchsticks
Oneshot set after apprentice part 2 where the titans patch up robin's wounds and talk about some scars he has, some from his time before the titans and some from slade
